Pre Show:
Troy walks in the dressing room wearing a blue polo shirt with the sleeves rolled up and jeans, his simplicity is the source of his charm as many say, and greets the producers of the show with a smile. He was just in time to premiere his new music video to the world

"Glad you could make it Mr. Mascenon, just follow me and you'd be on your way."

Troy follows the producer backstage and is briefed on what he would do, he then warms up a bit by shaking his body up and exhaling heavily. Clay Thomas, the show's host, greets Troy and bids him good luck for his career, Troy shakes hands with the man as Clay left for the stage.

"5,4,3,2,1"

The cameras start rolling and the people applaud as Clay enters the stage.

Interview:
"Good evening everybody, tonight we have a very special guest, a legendary musician, a respected artist, and a worldwide sensation. He achieved fame and success with the Birdie award winning rock band Reckoner, the band which spawned hit singles Catalyst Analyst and Blackout, and is now pursuing a solo career. We are lucky enough in this show to be the first people in the universe to be able to see the premiere of his music video. Please welcome the amazing, Troy Mascenon!"

The crowd gives an even greater applause as Troy enters the stage, he gives a little wave and shakes hands with the host.

Clay: It's been a long time Troy! The last time you premiered a music video, ThoughtPolice, was ages ago back when you were in Reckoner, and that was a great vid man.

Troy: Why thank you, I actually don't deserve the credit, Dale does. In fact, I've missed making videos with Dale Tucker, our official music vid director back in Reckoner, he is such a creative genius, he is the real deal when it comes to our unique approach in music videos. I was really excited when the check came in from Chaos Records, I was given the chance to choose for myself on who I could be able to work with in this project, luckily Dale was available so I grabbed the chance and I hope this vid would turn out as great as the previous ones, I hope even better.

Clay: So tell us about the music video, what was the most interesting part in the process of making a video?

Troy: Actually, unlike before, I am able to manipulate the music video in my direction. It used to be all Dale back in the days but as my knowledge about directing grew bigger, I had the opportunity to meddle in the making of the vid, that had to be the most interesting part.

Clay: Good for you, could you share to the something about the vid?

Troy: This music video is very expensive when it comes to location, location does play a crucial part in making a good video, it was directed in three different locations, Vancouver, New York, and Las Vegas. The video actually fits in the theme of the song In The Dark which is running away from fear, we can never run away from fear, only face it. With that theme in mind, I would like to emphasize that it's not going to be as weird and experimental as the Reckoner videos, we want it to be more available to the public, we want it to be less weird mascots and crazy animations, we just wanted it to be viewed by as many people as possible honestly. Watch out for some cameo appearances of famous people, that is sure to attract everyone.

Clay: So does that mean you are going mainstream?

Troy: No, not at all. I stay as low as I can possibly get, no glitz and glamour for me. Going mainstream is not my decision though, it's the people that make an artist mainstream. I do the music for those who want to listen to my music and if the audience grows from my old fans consisting of a lot of middle aged people with a few young people, to a lot of young people and less middle aged people with this music video, I don't think it's my fault, I never planned it to be on purpose. I'm not selling out, I'm doing my thing.

Clay: Good point, so this is our last question before the premiere of the video, real simple though. How do you think would the fans react to the video?

Troy: I honestly don't know, check it out first before judging it.

Okay, now here is what you've all been waiting for, this is In The Dark by Troy Mascenon, enjoy!

Music Video:

The camera fades in from the darkness and Troy is seen standing alongside the beach in the early morning, the smooth guitar licks from the B-side A Great Morning for Mourning's intro plays. After throwing a rock into the ocean, the quick paced bassline of the main song In The Dark starts playing, a dark cloud now engulfs the ocean and a dark shadowy figure rises from the water, Troy runs into the forest as the creature chases him. He goes deeper and deeper into the forest as he runs away from the creature in pursuit, he falls into a pit and suddenly, he is transported into a strip club in New York.

All the voluptuous girls around him try to seduce him but his fear of the creature took it's toll. Troy looks at everyone with a paranoid look as everyone looks back at him in confusion and resentment. Troy approaches a mysterious lady wearing all black, as he gets closer he realizes that this is the shadow figure in disguise and continues to chase him. Troy runs away from the club and into the busy streets where he bumps into a few people including a news caster making a news report live, Eric Quillington makes a cameo appearance as the camera man who smiles at Troy after bumping the grumpy and bossy news caster. Troy later bumps into two policemen, one of which is played by Brandon Cautfield. The two policemen give chase but Troy seems more afraid with the shadowy figure than the policemen. Troy eventually falls into a manhole and is later transported into a fountain in Las Vegas.

Troy's wet clothes make it harder for him to run as fast as he had been in the first two locations, but his persistence make him run even faster. The shadowy figure is nowhere to be seen but Troy's paranoia gets the best of him, he continues to run without anything in pursuit. He runs as fast and as far away as he could, he then ends up in the middle of the dessert, his clothes all ripped apart and exhausted from the chase, he lies down and gives up. The shadowy figure appears above him but this time, Troy does not seem to care anymore. The shadowy figure leaves the scene as Troy is left alone lying in the middle of the dessert. The camera zooms out as the song ends.

Clay: That was an amazing video! Give it up for Troy Mascenon ladies and gentlemen! Great track, great video to accompany it, I smell Birdie!

Troy: *chuckles You do don't you.

Clay: What's so funny?

Troy: Nothing, nothing, that was so unprofessional of me. Did you see Brandon Cautfield and Eric Quillington in the video?

Clay: I certainly did, great actors both of them. So we're running out of time, is there anything else you'd want to say?

Troy: I just wish everyone enjoyed the video as I did, I love you all and I hope to see everyone soon.

Clay: Ladies and gentlemen, Troy Mascenon.

Troy shakes hands with Clay as he leaves the stage.

Nina: that is rather...general,don't you think?

Erica: i know. Being vague is the new being specific.
