Stephanie Ortiz
A successful American actress, singer, record producer, dancer, television personality, fashion designer, and model. Stephanie Ortiz was born on December 21, 1984 in Ponce, Puerto Rico. While many recognize her her feisty attitude she portrays on television, Stephanie Ortiz embraces a more softer and soulful R&B vocal style in most of her music. She was inspired by her mother who taught her to sing and play the piano at an early age and ever since has included the piano alongside a sound board in most of her music. While her music is mostly R&B, as of late Stephanie Ortiz has been exploring more electronic dance music. She's sold over 17 Million albums worldwide.
Aside from music, Stephanie Ortiz has also embarked a career in acting. Stephanie Ortiz lander her first major role by making her television debut in
"I'm a Rock Star Get Me Outta Here", a successful TV shows that took place in the summer of 09. Despite not winning, Stephanie Ortiz became one of the most memorable characters in the show, which helped her launch her career in the industry as a triple threat . Stephanie Ortiz went on to build a portfolio for the lenses, when she starred in her first "leading role" on a movie titled
"Pop Tarts" with
Joshy Firecracker. "Pop Tarts" was a satirical film about the music industry and Stephanie Ortiz played the rival character named "Kisa Morgan". After taking a year off from acting, Stephanie Ortiz appeared yet again on another reality TV show called
"Celebrity Big Brother" as a new house mate. In the show, she portrayed a darker evil side her fans had never seen before. Despite starting off strong, she became the 9th evicted from the show. When asked if she would participate in another season of
"I'm A Rock Star Get Me Outta Here" or
"Celebrity Big Brother" Stephanie Ortiz replied with:
"Yes. In a heartbeat".
Stephanie Ortiz began working early in the studio as a recording artist in January 2009, after singing with AJX records. She worked with various major producers and artists such as Tony Visconti, Daniel and RedOne for her first studio album self-titled
'Stephanie Ortiz'. The album was mostly to be dominant in the R&B and Pop genre and embarked many hit singles such as
"When Lightning Strikes My Heart" (#22 US Hot 100),
"Lost in the Jungle" (#4 US Hot 100),
"Hungry Tigress" (#3 US Hot 100) and R&B ballads
"If I Were An Angel" (#5 US Hot 100) and
"Tears of hurt" (#15 Hot 100). The first album managed to sell 3,704,000 copies worldwide to date.
Yet, the success immediately continued with her dance oriented second studio/first bilingual album
"La Orden"/"The Order". The album spawned many hits such as the very controversial
"Be My Sex Slave" (#3 Hot 100, #1 World) and Spanish R&B ballads
"La Orden" (#1 Hot 100) and
"Limpiame Mi Corazon" (#6 US Hot 100). The album sold 3,551,000 copies worldwide to date.
After going on her first headlining world tour with
"The Chickmunk Girls", Ortiz released her more spanish oriented third studio/second bilingual album
"Luna/Moon". The album had minor hits such as
"Skins" (#1 UK Singles, #7 US Hot 100),
"So Sick Of Love Songs (So Tired)" (#15 US Hot 100, #1 Canada Singles, #1 World) and Latin dance hit "La Mega" (#1 US Latin Singles). The album has sold 2,365,000 copies worldwide to date.
Her fourth studio album
"My Goal is To Hurt You", the second being full length in English, embraced all R&B/soul styled songs and became the most successful to date. The album saw #1 hit singles such as
"Pretty Wings" (#1 UK Singles, #9 US Hot 100),
"My Goal is Hurt You" (#10 US Hot 100, #1 Europe Singles, #1 South America Singles, #1 World),
"Broken (Heal)" (#1 UK Singles, #51 US Hot 100)
"Sin Ti" (#4 US Hot 100, #1 Canada) and
"Passenger" (No Chart) . The album has sold 4,502,000 copies worldwide to date, becoming her highest selling album to date.
Her fifth studio album
"Infinity" saw a more electronic dance sound.
"Infinity" (#1 UK Singles),
"Take Me Out of Here" (#2 US Hot 100, #1 World) and
"Bang Your Head For Love" (#1 UK singles, #4 US Hot 100) were released as singles. The album has sold 2,933,000 copies to date. Over 1.6 Million copies have been sold in the UK; becoming her most successful album in the UK. The album only went Gold in the US with 602,000 copies sold, becoming her least successful album in her home country.
Her sixth studio album
"Parasite" is planned to be released November 29, 2011. The lead single
"Love In Anesthesia" was released to radio airplay October 23, 2011, it will be available for digital download October 30, 2011.
