Chaos Awards IV - Round One - Plugging

Gooooooood evening my fellow fans of Chaos! Welcome to the official Round One of the Chaos Awards numero...four. Who'da thought we'd have got this far huh? I think it's fair to say that in the absence of the Birdies we have stepped up to the plate pretty damn well. And unless that certain avian related awards show comes back...well we must be the premier awards show at the moment. Anyone else excited? We are! So let's get down to business.

First, let's address the hosting issue. Rumours have been rife on Twitter that Mr Stinson will not be hosting for the fourth awards show in a row. I can confirm now that this is the case. The dude has too much stuff going on at the label...so we decided to bring in two fresh faces to loosen the place up. Hopefully they'll be less offensive as well...hopefully :/ So without further ado...meet your hosts!

Eilidh Green (born 14th April 1994) is an Irish-American TV presenter from Cleveland, Ohio. Eilidh is a relative newbie on the scene of presenting. Aged at just 17, she has captured the weekend hearts of America, and now has her own all singing, all dancing show on CBS on a Saturday morning. We hope she'll bring an air of youth, change and freshness to the occasion with her bright and happy demeanor.

Luke Striker (born August 26, 1991) is an American musician and actor originally from Jacksonville, North Carolina, he currently lives in Los Angeles, California. He initially broke into the music industry earlier in the year with a single called Sorry Again and then landed an acting role in Secrets In Suburbia, he has been spending the majority of his time working on new material for a possible debut album.

Rules 'n' Stuff

Point number one - we need some nice kind people to judge this. I will not be picking the judges again this time. There will be an application process, in which you will need to send me an email or a PM (I prefer emails if you can, because I lose PMs in amongst all those pages, and there's no search function, but PM if email isn't an option) telling me why YOU should be a judge. There will be EIGHT judges all in all, and you have 36 hours from now to let me know

Point Number Two - Performers - Also apply as above, FROM SUNDAY.

Point Number Four - Wait, read back up! Now continue. We need some categories, righty-o? There are rules too, read them. They come in brackets.....that is not a joke about people having sex with Ikea furniture.

So, here they are:

Best Band

Best Solo Artist (male)

Best Solo Artsit (Female)

Best Newcomer (Has emerged SINCE the Chaos Awards III)

Best Artwork

Best Album

Best Single

Best Live Artist

Best Event (gig/festival/tour/whatever else)

Best Couple (At least three people requested I do this one)

The Oh My God I Would Bone That Award (combining sexiest males and females, not literally combining them, that would be illegal on stage)

The Cassie Summers Award for Best Personality

The Miss Vanity Icon Award - (an award for the huge stars. It can be anyone past or present EVER in TRSG, who do you feel deserves it?)

The Jason Smith Award for Technical Ecstasy - (for amazing musicians guitar/drums/whatever, you get the idea)

Special Contribution to the industry - (Something that someone has done to really enhance the industry in TRSG)

AND for (probably) the third time ever, I am bringing back, at the end, some OOC awards. I feel there is nothing better than a good OOC comment on a thread, therefore a good OOC award may be pant tentingly amazing.

The OOC Awards are as follows -

Best new RP-er (Someone who has come here in the last few months and really made a difference or been exciting and new)

Best RP storyline (this is because people were against voting a death as "Best moment" IC last time around....they PM'd me and told me this. So it can be any amazing RP storyline, collaboration, or anything.)

God you read these forums a lot dude (Award) - (for that nane that is ALWAYS there when you log in)

Most Involved Award (We can all RP, but less people are good at interacting with others....who is the best at getting properly involved and commenting on other folksies stuff?)

(a forum favourite everywhere) Postwhore Award (Who just posts for the sake of seeing those numbers tick over?)

aaaaaaaaaaannnnnnnnnnnddddddddddd

The RP Legend Hall of Fame (I'd like to make a list of all those who have been influential/standouts over the whole time this place has been going (or as far as we can remember), so anyone past present of future can be nominated for this, and will go into the Hall of Fame OOC)

Point number trois - This is how Round One works. Like the Birdies. That is all. I jest....here's how it really works.

This thread is to be used for PLUGGING (we do not plug in...I'm not being responsible for all you people electrocuting yourselves) only. You May Plug Your Own Artistes ONLY.

A plug DOES NOT mean a nomination

Plugging will begin from now

Point Number Five - FAO JUDGES - You will nominate people. You may nominate between ONE and THREE people/cds/whatever in each category. You may NOT nominate your own act. Anyone caught nominating their own act will be thoroughly well bloody.... asked to vote again. Please do not start nominating until I say. You may then nominate to your hearts content, but you may want to leave more time to let people plug. PLEASE READ PEOPLE'S PLUGS AND DO NOT JUST NOMINATE YOUR FRIENDS OR I WILL BE FORCED TO PRETEND THAT YOU HAVE READ PEOPLES PLUGS AND NOT JUST NOMINATED YOUR FRIENDS. I'm looking in one direction in particular...that person will not get to judge this time. Also, do not post your nominations here, please please please PM them to me. Ta!!

The rest - Enjoy!!

Oh....and there are bans

YAY! :D

I will only be plugging a couple properly... I don't think I've done enough to win any this time around.

Best Band - Mind

Mind are quite simply one of the biggest, most successful and most influential metal bands in recent memory, and have been one of the very few of the "metal revolution" to make it to the mainstream. They have headlined many festivals and given us some of the most memorable shows in a long time. All 6 of their albums (well... 5 of them. Dream Serpent sorta didn't get released, so that doesn't count) have earned them critical and commercial recognition. They were also the first band to get a number one on the airplay charts. They rock. Please vote for them. Pretty please.

Best Album - "To Hold All", Mind

Can't be bothered to find the link for this but I thought it was pretty cool. If you vote it to go to the next round, I'll dig up a link for you ;)

Best Live Artist - Mind

Again, the search button on this site sucks, but you should remember the Mind performance from Festival de Musica? Right? No? Never mind, I'll find that later on.

OMG I Would Bone That - Jason "Fucking" Smith

Okay, now, I'm not even kidding on this one. If I don't win it, I will actually cry. Do you want to see that? No, I didn't think so. Here's some Jason for you. Good people of TRSG; please contain your orgasms.

The Cassie Summers Award for Best Personality - Jason Smith

Came very close last time, so let's try again. Jason is definitely... different.

The Miss Vanity Icon Award - Jason Smith

Again, very close last time, so let's have another shot. Jason has been one of the most noticeable musicians in recent years and is seen as an influential musician and producer by many. Very successful albums blah blah blah, you know the rest.

The Jason Smith Award for Technical Ecstasy - Jason Smith

It's cooooooming home, it's coooooooming home, it's coming...

I only think I can even come close for two in OOC...

God you read these forums a lot, dude - Laurelles1

Word. Check it, in 2010, Book of Love, erupted from the very sounds of bands like Summer Camp, Sleigh Bells and Beach House to make a sound unlike any other indie pop band (besides the good ones that is).

Then, without a word, they disappeared into the night before...

Enter mid-2011, a website comes up, then a few announcements and a performance at Festival de Musica before finally, a new E.P. was released.

Peter Hampshire is a mad-nice fucker on the guitar akin to Silent Bob with his unknown wisdom whereas sultry siren Laura Paige brings forth the ups and downs of teenage romance in the 80's. So yeah, what more do you want to know?

JASON SMITH AWARD FOR TECHNICAL ECSTASY

UserPostedImage

Winston Marsh of Seattle, Washington is the lead guitarist and vocalist of Gears of Fate. Winston is also known as a 'Pedal Freak' due to his extensive use of pedals when playing. What other musicians do you know play a fucking guitar this well with a pedal with this rapid of a fucking chord progression?

Laura Paige from Book of Love is probably the biggest drummer in the business today. She is a member of Jason Smith's band, and drums solo at times.

Misery Loves Company are a pop-punk/rock outfit who have evolved so much in the past 4-5 months. They signed to one of the most respected record labels; Studio60, their two singles have both charted at a high of 2 (One has become GOLD, the other PLATINUM) and their recently released debut album, charted at number 1 and has since gone on to become PLATINUM selling. Best Band
GirlSpice - Known as one of the biggest girl groups in the music industry, GirlSpice have been selling millions, touring the world and breaking records since their arrival onto the music scene in summer of 2007. With their latest studio album Night Rider topping the Chart Heat Albums chart, GirlSpice have proven that they are a pop force to be reckoned with.

Best Solo Artist (Female)
Glamazon - Known for her lyrics consisting of heartbreak and revenge and having a tendency to carry around sharp objects, Glamazon has continued to deliver her own brand of what she likes to call "dark pop" to the music industry. Her latest studio album The Beauty of Pain recently hit #1 on Chart Heat Albums, as well as "Beauty Doesn't Exist" going #1 on airplay and digital charts.

Best Single
Nadia Berry - "Good Girls Don't Lie" - The buzz single taken from Nadia Berry's upcoming 2012 solo album sees her take a new direction into a more mellow and reggae-influenced acoustic track. Nadia's her vocals shine over the summery and feel-good backing of nothing but acoustic guitar and light piano chords during the chorus.

Lyrics:

Best Live Artist
GirlSpice - A show put on by GirlSpice is like no other, it's a light show, firework show, dance show and most importantly, a music show; all wrapped into one to create a visual spectacle like no other. Of course, their performance style is not to everyone's tastes, their outfits, choreography and stage sets are often raunchy and controversial, but if you're looking to be entertained, GirlSpice manage to do just that.

The Cassie Summers Award for Best Personality
Glamazon - She's obsessed with wearing black and carries around axes and other objects that are designed to cause pain, she also scares most men in the industry... only few can do that!

Aimée Christelle - She's French and often believes she's from the ghetto, which probably explains her crazy accent which few can understand. Popular for her love of Jack Daniels and also her pet tortoise named Frédric.

The Miss Vanity Icon Award
GirlSpice - GirlSpice are listed as an influence to many in the industry and have changed pop since their arrival in summer 2007. Since then, the group have been going strong and are showing no signs of slowing down with their latest studio album hitting #1 and the girls currently on a sell-out world stadium tour.

Best Band: The Verdict Is Vengeance

The Verdict Is Vengeance is a six piece metalcore band from Essex are slowing taking over England with their music, after the debut album Liberation breached the mainstream music scene at the end of 2009 the band has been going from strength to strength. Spending large amounts of the year touring with Chimera, headling the Comatose stage at Animal festival in August, and releasing Lies Make You Famous, and EP which showed another layer of depth to the band.

Sophomore album Oblivion was released in January 2011 and has since gained the band a large reputation as one of the leading metal bands, a tour across the UK and Europe to support Oblivion. Their second EP titled Idols was released in early April 2011, containing 5 cover tracks from bands that had influence on the bands writing style during the creation of Oblivion. On March 7th 2011 the band announced that they would be going on an extended hiatus after they had finished their first headlining tour of the USA, as well as playing a festival show in September.

The band have been nominated for 4 IMA's at the 21st IMA's including Best Band and Best Live Band, however they did not win any of these. The planned free EP from the band was never released due to the band thinking that "they didn't want to end their time as a band with a rushed, and poorly marketed EP."

The Verdict Is Vengeance are now working on their third studio album as of August 2011, due to finally "having a stable line-up, in the position to start writing and recording the follow up of Oblivion" meaning the planned hiatus will no-longer happen, and are that they have been signed to Chaos Records on a two album contract with unlimited singles.

Best Solo Artist (male):

Ryan Ross Hernandez - Arguably the most respected and commercially successful solo singer-songwriter in music today, Ryan Ross Hernandez has sold over 23 million records over the course of just three albums as a solo artist. His style exudes a strong background knowledge of rock, pop, acoustic ballads, and the blues; doing it all while building it around his impeccable guitar fretwork. Be it if he's trying to catch the ear of critics with a guitar solo inspired by his blues idols and old-school rock, or wanting to make it onto the playlist of everyone from high-school teens to middle-aged soccer moms with his smooth, suave voice. He has headlined countless festivals, played every concert hall, arena, and stadium you can think of. In addition to his astonishing solo career, he has made a household name for himself as a sound efficient producer, in just the past four months he has produced for the likes of Riot! in the Boulevard, Infinite, Ellie-Grace Summers, Michelle Greene, and his former band PANIC!. With a fourth studio album on the horizon, don't expect the man to leave his place at the height of music stardom anytime soon.

In-Depth Analysis + Lyrics:

Best Live Artist

Ryan Ross Hernandez - If you've ever seen a show that Ryan Ross Hernandez puts on, you know perfectly well that his shows are the complete anti-dote to the usual concerts put on by most mainstream pop artists. A one-man show (with an entire band behind him), who carries the weight of being charismatic, a storm of energy, and wowing audiences with his guitar ninja-dom. His shows are almost taken from another period of time, in the sense that he doesn't overload his shows without anything else but music. His a firm believer that he can keep people's attention for 90 minutes with his performing, and not having his management pull out millions of dollars to have crazy almost circus-like stage designs and neon lights at each corner. Most of his shows are played on a big stage, with a simple backdrop and an arsenal of songs in his pockets. One thing that you won't find in other shows is Ryan's speech's between some songs. Those are one of a kind. Whether his ranting about world issues, giving the crowd a life lesson, or dropping some raunchy standup comedy on them, he's also keeping the thousands of fans on his side.

Best Couple

Nadia Berry and Ryan Ross Hernandez - Best looking couple. The couple with the highest net worth. The most overly sexual couple. If they win, Ryan will totally keep the award for himself though.

The Oh My God I Would Bone That Award

Ryan Ross Hernandez - Seriously? Who would not want to bone the living fuck out of this man? I'll even plug him with his on-going Johnny Depp lookalike folk look phase.

UserPostedImageUserPostedImage

The Cassie Summers Award for Best Personality

Ryan Ross Hernandez - When you have the "celebrity," label attached to your back with a bull's eye, you have to have a personality that gets people talking, be it good or bad about you. Ryan Ross Hernandez is both brilliantly self-deprecating and genuinely hilarious. His an intelligent man when he's not trying to be clever and witty with his comments to the public. One could even say that he's overly confident or in more urban terms, an arrogant asshole.

GQ Magazine Interview: http://www.therockstarga....aspx?g=posts&t=7478

The Miss Vanity Icon Award

Ryan Ross Hernandez - He's Ryan Ross Hernandez...? He's Ryan Ross Hernandez.

The Jason Smith Award for Technical Ecstasy

Ryan Ross Hernandez - He plays guitar and really, really, REALLY, just wants to be the one who finally beats Jason Smith in this category. That is all.

Best Band:

Mind or Infinite, both are THE BEST BANDS OF TODAY. Also Misery Loves Company could qualify..:)

Best Solo Artist (male):

Troy Mascenon- former frontman of one of the most respected bands of all time, and now an accomplished solo artist. Troy Mascenon has been a part of the music industry since anyone can remember. He made his solo debut EP all by himself, which is pretty hard work. Even though he was part of Reckoner, he never used this fact to gain his fans of today, he had to go back to the start and work his way up back to where he is today. His style is a mixture of rock, electronica, blues, and jazz but his songs turn out to go mainstream, though he doesn't really mind if they do since he only does this job for his pleasure in making music. He can play the guitar like Hendrix, play the piano like Mercury, play bass like Flea, and sing like Thom Yorke(hehe). Troy may not have achieved a number one yet in his solo career, but he's Troy Mascenon..:)

Best Band ; Infinite

UserPostedImage

Forget about Eric Quillington's recent departure. Forget about the fights between the drummer and the singer. Forget about the classic 'frontman-being-more-important-and-recognizable-than-band' syndrome that has befallen on so many groups before them. If there's one thing Infinite should (and possibly will) always be remembered for, it's the music. After all, you don't get to this level of recognition and stardom without creating a few classic tunes. Infinite have written the next 'Yellow' or 'One' in the form of 'Shades of Grey', a rare anthem that manages to blend despair and loss without ever seeming sappy or lovelorn. 'End and Begin' is the closest the band has ever gotten to a full-on rave, the result of which can lead to devastating crowd dancing (and even moshing, oddly enough) during live performances. And 'Salt' proved once and for all that Matt Roberts is more than just the 'useless' member of Infinite. What's most incredible about this is that these essential moments are from one album; the others all have their own, innumerable, key points. But all this started with a few strums on the guitar. Who can forget the first time they heard the riff of Fusion Paranoia, or the solo breakdown at the end of Supernova? And yet that was only the beginning.

From those tentative first steps, Infinite has quickly grown into a band that defies genre-labels. Eric Quillington, Matt Roberts, and Greg Oldson have never hidden the fact that they longed to be superstars, and hungrily set out to achieve that lofty goal through sheer musical ambition. The subdued blend of grunge and acoustics on Blue Nebula gave way to the radiantly optimistic and experimental dreamscapes of Midnight Skies, which then turned into a schizophrenic nightmare on Insomnia, before finally waking up to a cold dawn on the raw and emotionally exposed Dancing about Architecture. Infinite has never made taken the same step twice, giving them the 'album band' status that falls on such groups as Radiohead and Pink Floyd. As momentous as the individual moments and songs may be, they are nothing in comparison to the greater picture. The same can be said about the internal make-up of the band itself; while songwriter/singer/guitarist Eric Quillington might always be the 'face' of Infinite, even after the announcement of his departure following the recording of the band's fifth album, he would be rendered obsolete without one of the most criminally under-appreciated rhythm sections in all of rock culture. For Greg and Matt are more than just a back-up band to Quillington; they make up two-thirds of Infinite's collective voice. In Greg Oldson are the musical skills responsible for the melodies of such tunes as 'Problems with Pluto' and 'Faust', while Matt Roberts (the Ringo Starr of the group) is foundation giving much needed down-to-earth levity to his bandmates' lofty ideas.

Infinite will always be regarded as a 'band of differences'. But it's not a weakness; it's their greatest strength. Rather than truly blending together, the band's three unique voices and musical tastes result in a consistently expanding range of genres. If Eric wasn't so against Greg and Matt's urges for him to indulge in guitar solos, than we wouldn't have the searing, reluctant, and aggressive instrumentals on Dancing about Architecture. If Greg and Matt weren't pushed to the side during the praise bestowed upon Eric, than we wouldn't have moments such as 'Faust' and 'Ciel', which show Greg desperately trying (and succeeding) to prove his worth. Moments of true unity between Greg and Eric are incredibly rare, but the animosity between them gives some of Infinite's harder-hitting tunes a feeling of very real tension. Because of this, Infinite manages to seem both real and vulnerable whilst retaining their position as one of the most famous bands in the world. It's these types of contrasts, of unity and division, of fame and dysfunction, that makes Infinite a truly special and unique band.

Best Album ; Dancing about Architecture

Best Single ; Lamenting Rinascita

Best Live Artist ; Infinite

Wembley, Field Day Festival, etc. I'll find the links to a couple of these if anybody wants me to elaborate. But, as Laurelles said; the search function on this website sucks, so that'd be a bit of a pain for me.

Best Couple ; Eric Quillington and Glamazon

In an era where most celebrity relationships end in a fight on Twitter, it's refreshing to see a couple with this much longevity. And, discounting the argument between the two last week, where Eric was justifiably referred to as being 'fucking retarded', the two don't even have a single fight to their names. Which, of course, makes sense; when two of the most eccentric personalities in music culture join forces, do you really think petty little squabbles are going to factor into their relationship? Fuck no. Those are the problems of mere mortals.

The Miss Vanity Icon Award and Cassie Summers Award for Personality ; Eric Quillington

“Ladies and Gentlemen, it is I, your lord and master; Eric Quillington. The Quixotic, the Chosen One, the last son of Krypton...."

Perhaps more than most, Eric Quillington's successes and failures have come to define him. As a world-renowned musician, he is often viewed by his fans in the same positive light as icons such as Troy Mascenon and Ryan Ross Hernandez. As the eccentric (not to mention drunk) lunatic at the Big Brother House, he is viewed by his critics as the quintessential example of a rock-star falling from grace through drug scandals and thoughtless public comments. But, unlike many other musicians that find themselves in similar positions of fame and notoriety, Eric has never hidden behind any walls, be it of music or mystique. Like all of us, there is a delicate blend of light and darkness inside of him, and Eric has never been afraid to expose both sides without hesitation. While it was initially applauded, as it has given Eric a platform to express himself openly and honestly during interviews, this 'warts-and-all' way of living has, eventually, led to a fair share of controversies. As the quiet, enigmatic man who made Midnight Skies gave way to a far more erratic personality, many began wondering if fame and fortune had gone to his head. Many of his public speeches at the time certainly didn't help matters. In many ways, Eric could be viewed as the antithesis of Ryan Ross Hernandez; while the latter is calm and collected when confronted by the face of celebrity, never losing his 'coolness' during public scandals, the (former) frontman of Infinite is frenzied and nearly always socially awkward, acting out of pure impulse because he simply doesn't know any better.

But the key phrase here is 'doesn't know any better'. For, while it may make it seem flawed and almost inhuman, Eric's total lack of social and life skills have also given him some of his most endearing qualities. Arnold Toynbee once referred to America as a "big friendly dog in a small room, knocking things over with every wag of it's tail". This lone sentence is, in a sense, a perfect description of Eric Quillington. Despite the drug controversies, despite the arrogant outbursts, he is simply a well-meaning individual who doesn't know the full ramifications of his actions. Take, for example, the recent Twitter argument with his girlfriend Glamazon over his neglect in telling her about his (possibly fatal) diagnosis of Huntington's. His response, although lacking in logic, neatly summed up who he is in seven words; "I didn't want to ruin your happiness". Life is, quite simply, a mystery to Eric Quillington. And while it may make for an awful friend (like when he carelessly interrupted Katie Coyle's that she was carrying Jason Smith's child in order to express his boredom at the house's lack of interesting developments), it makes him a fascinating character to watch.

Quote:
There are several groans in the audience as Eric steps up to present another award. An interesting duality seems to exist regarding the nature of people’s perception towards Infinite’s frontman; as a musician, he is one of the most beloved people in Europe. As an awards presenter…

“Hello again! I hope we’re all having a good time! So, this is the final award of the evening; the Icon Award! It’s rather sad, though; they told me that I'd be presenting awards that I have no chance of winning. Guess I’m not an Icon, huh?”

Once again, Eric laughs, hoping for a decent response. There is laughter this time, however, but in an incredibly sarcastic manner from Matt Roberts.

“Okay, so, yeah… my jokes don’t work. But, y’know what? Neither did Mr. Roberts’ condom.”

Not a word is uttered at Albert Hall, as everyone is staring at Eric with shocked expressions. Taking the silence as a form of victory, he merely smiles and continues his speech.

Best Band
TEEN TITANS
The Teen Titans have been in the music industry for more than a year and managed to release three albums, getting even two of them Platinum. Teen Titans haven't just made a few hits and few successful albums, they have also been showing up like a group of normal young guys who manage to still stand in the industry with the force of their friendship, despite the difference in the personalities between each one of them.
They're also quite known for their characteristic and technologic shows, full of different effects.

Best Band – Riot! In The Boulevard
Considering they only broke into the industry earlier this year, they’ve had an unusual amount of success, they’ve became one of the most popular bands/acts around and with a number 1 debut album, 3 number 1 singles and the greatest red-haired singer that ever did exist, you’d be foolish not to nominate this bunch of misfits and losers :P

Best Solo Artist (male) – Brandon Caulfield
He isn’t always in your face or whatever, he kinda pops up every now and then with an interesting interview, blog, song or album. His album Into The Wild Part II was praised an awful lot. He’s not exactly mainstream but he’s alright, isn’t he? Meh, he’s not so high profile but people seem to like him :)

Best Solo Artist (female) – Alicia Lena
She released her second album earlier this year, the album became one of the biggest selling albums of the year, she released 4 singles from the album and each of those 4 singles become number 1 hits. She’s apparently very nice and very humble and she seems kinda popular. So yeah, why not nominate Alicia?

Best Live Artist – Riot! In The Boulevard
They’ve performed in almost every festival during this year and received a huge amount of praise for their live performances. Umm, they sing those songs from their debut album on a stage in front of other people. They’re alright at it, so yup, worth a nomination, right?

Best Couple – Brandon Caulfield & Hannah Beth
Brandon and Hannah, well they’re kinda a fairy-tale couple. They’ve been together since around February which I think you’ll agree is pretty good going in the world of celebrity’s. He’s a shy awkward dude who had a tough childhood and she’s a pretty popular girl that made him learn what love is … aww that’s kinda sweet, right? Vote for them then :D lol

Special Contribution – Studio60 Records.
They have some of the best acts around signed to their label and always try their very best to promote every artist on the label. The best record label around? I think you’d agree. Nominate Studio60 Records then … if you don’t then you’ll all have to deal with Gia … Yup … scary thought, right? :)

Best Storyline – asdf – The Rockers, The Complete Johnny Johnson Story.
Hmm, We’re not supposed to plug other people, right? Oh well, I’ll be a rebel and break the rules :P I think he definitely deserves to win this award, so come on people, nominate this for best storyline.

Best Solo Artist (male)

Dominic Brown is a 18 year old R&B singer from Key West, Florida. He is known worldwide as the "Prince of R&B" and for his dynamic voice, good looks, and outgoing personality. On May 23, 2011, he made his debut into the music industry. Later the next day he signed with Tric-Jam Records and set out to record his debut album, "F.Y.T." The album debuted at #3 due to the excellent selections such as, "Addiction", "Thank You", "Dance With You", "Black Heart" and "One Night". "F.Y.T." is now multi-platinum and continues to remain in the charts. Dominic has collaborated with Alicia Lena, Hayden & Isabel Merjos, Cassie Valentine, Kia Johnson, Mandy Williams, and Luke Striker to name a few. He is currently preparing for Tisha Jackson's upcoming North America Leg tour.

Best Solo Artsit (Female)

Cassie Valentine is a 21 year old R&B singer from Asheville, North Carolina. She considers herself the "Princess of R&B" and is known for her beautiful soulful voice. On April 29, 2011, she made her debut into the music industry and later signed with Junction Records. Without hesitation, she begin to work on her debut album, "Pink Romance". The album was later released on May 30, 2011 and featured hot hits like, "I love You Remix", "Fear", "Wasting My Tears", and Freaky in the AM". "Pink Romance" is currently multi-platinum and still remains in the charts. Cassie is currently on leg 2 of her Pink Romance Tour with Abie Lena and Chanel Devine. She is also planning on releasing an EP later on this year. Details to come soon.

Best Newcomer

Metallic Swan is a Pop rock group consisting of 22 year old twin sisters, Taylor & Harmony Sparks. MS broke out into the music industry recently on October 10, 2011. Since then they have been working hard, more or less, to put together their upcoming EP, "Road To Fame". More details about "Road to Fame" will be announced in the upcoming weeks. For now the two are hitting the airways with their debut single, "Party On the Rooftop", featuring the Queen of Party herself, Isabel Merjos. Although this weeks charts are yet to be released, the single is predicted to do very well.

The Cassie Summers Award for Best Personality

Nate Alexander is known best as Gia's little brother and for his weird ways. This nature lover will blow your mind with his freaky actions and sayings. He very much cares about mother nature and feels that mankind should do all they can to save the earth. Nate cared so much about the earth that he was willing to enter the music industry to help spread the word. Unfortunately he managed to get sidetracked upon finding out that he had an older sister and the quest to find his queen. Now with each of those situations accomplished, he will set forth with his quest to make music about the earth in the upcoming months. Until then you can catch him aggravating his sister, Gia, her finance, Scott, baby Sophie, many others, participating in rallies, and performing cleansings near you.

Special Contribution – Tric-Jam Records

Tric-Jam Records is owned by Nevaeh Martinez-Smith and Co-owned by Lady Raine. The label is currently one of the few remaining labels around and is known for its loving care provided to each artists signed on the label. Tric-Jam is still growing and continually to hold its title as one of the best labels around.

MattY

Best Male Solo Artist - MattY took the world by storm with his Grime influenced music; his collaboration with Alicia Lena broke into the hearts of millions and stayed at the top of the Top 20 Airplay Charts for a record of 4 weeks. MattY also won Best Solo Artist at the Fans Choice Awards earlier in the year (before being carted off to jail for murder)

Buzz & Hype

Best Band - The biggest new act of the year, having won two 'Best Newcomer' awards and a 'Best Single' for their Top 20 Digital Download All Time Number 3, Multi-Platinum selling debut single Buzzing, and having had 7 weeks at number one including one week with Isabel's single Rain on My Parade, Buzz & Hype are surely up there with the greats already. With a Collaboration with Ryan Ross Hernandez coming up for release soon, surely number one cannot be far away again.
Best Single - Dem Man (ft. Foxxy) - The Grimey, urban track of the year, two weeks at number one, with it soon to be platinum selling, Buzz & Hype's first single from their upcoming debut album is sure to be a contender for 'Best Single'. The Lyrics are representative of a true inner city human, which have been transported into music by the incredible Buzz & Hype, with Foxxy's crazy urban charm helping to make the song a success.
The Jason Smith Award for Technical Ecstasy - Buzz & Hype must be considered for this as they have probably helped produce 50% of the albums around at the moment (The other half probably by Jason Smith or Ryan Ross Hernandez). They are renowned for being the best producers around, and can turn any song into a hit.

Sammy Griffin

Best Male Solo Artist - Although Sammy is still yet to make his big mainstream breakthrough, he has slowly gathered a large fan base and is starting to really work his way into the public eye. He is soon to go on tour with the number one album artist Aaron Marks. His blend of acoustic music and rap helps to make him an uncommon feature in the industry, and one that is starting to become more and more challenging to beat.
Best Live Artist - Sammy is known for his small intimate gigs, and is known for being able to really strike an emotion with his audience; but Sammy showed this year at all of the festivals that he can make the big crowds appreciate him to..
Sammy Griffin

Matt Young

Fathers of Fury

Buzz & Hype

Other Acts Include: Parish (Michael Parish), Lucifer (James Francis), Cheating the System (Ethan Plyth, Tom Jolly, Ryan Wyler)

Isabel
As of late this 18 year old has been on the rise! She's scored 2 #1 hits Lose It! (Summer's Not Hot) and Rain on my Parade, and her sophomore album debuted #3 and she's collaborating with artists like Alicia Lena, Buzz and Hype, Mykaylah, and Dominic Brown. She's been voted Top Artist of the month twice, her videos have set records and she can only rise further from here.

Best Couple -

Gia Rose and Scott H
The absolute BEST couple ever. They've been through almost everything you can imagine. It all started at The Dirty Bastard. Make things short, they proclaimed their love to each other on a tour bus in France, she found out he impregnated another woman, his long time rival and former bandmate Alex P nearly beat him to death but Gia gave him a bash to the head with a brick thinking he was dead but no, no he was not. She shot and killed him, Scott helping her cover it up, she was blackmailed by her ex into dating him again. He let her go only to be blindsided at the hospital by a beautiful baby who, ironically, belonged to Andrea Mason and Alex P. Their story can only get better. (Left out some more details but we already know how amazing they are)

Hannah Beth and Brandon Caulfield
Probably the quietest couple around. The two have been in love ever since February and are now engaged. They are rarely in the media or pulling any crazy stunts which makes them even more amazing because people want to know all about them.

The Cassie Summers Award for Best Personality -

Hayden
The most sarcastic, talented, and handsome man you will find. He's almost the male equivalent to Lily. He's laid back, cocky, and smart mouthed. He's probably gotten into an argument with almost everyone he doesn't like and speaks his mind the ease. Some people hate him, most love him.

Gia
2 words; Dangerous Chick. Sharp mouth, hot temper and brains, Gia has become an enemy to almost all but respected by many. She, also like others, is not afraid to speak her mind and is known to be very, VERY, vocal. She's recently fought many people, one of them being Alex P and he's no little wimp, HE was HUUUGE. (She lost but really she won with the brick as a weapon so that's a win for Gia, yaaay) As of now, some have said she's gotten a little softer ever since baby Sophie arrived into her life but she's quickly retorted that. The only thing that anyone should know about Gia is this: She WILL cut you.

Technical Ecstasy - Lily; Vocals

Special Contribution to the Industry - Scoop Magazine
Even though it hasn't been here for a long time, Scoop Magazine has delivered nothing but the best in issues and news covering the entertainment world.
