Most songs that I had written had a dark dub-step sound and were heavily influenced by house music. However, with this song it is just pure dance/pop which is really uplifting to sing and is a nice break from what I had previously did. 'Girls' is like a more uplifting take on female empowerment songs like Beyonce's 'Run The World (Girls)' and Jordin Sparks' 'I Am Woman'. I don't wan't to be dissing men or saying that we are better, I just want to praise the fact that girls are so fun and go perfectly well with men, leading to a wonderful fun and exciting world. I can compare it more to 'Girls Just Wanna Have Fun' by Cyndi Lauper. I don't know if my fans will be sure about the track at first as it is really different to my previous material but hopefully it will bring in lots of new fans too. I chose this song as the lead single as it basically sums up my new album as a whole; fun, pop-tastic, tongue in cheek and wild!"
