How do you fight a party like the BNP without limiting the values of freedom of speech which we hold so dear?
they appear to be gaining more and more support from middle class people who don't even seam to be aware of half of their policies!!!
also what do you think about them stealing and using Churchills image?

you would think that, but the idea of ignore the problem and it will go away clearly isn't working.. The bnp is getting more and more support despite the lack of mainstream media attention it has bean given in the last eight years or so...

As annoying as BNP are, there's very little chance they'll ever have enough power to enact any major damage.

Australia had a similar sort of issue with the One Nation party, though I dont think they were as hard core as the BNP seem to come across as. They had a fair bit of support from 'ordinary' people...lower to middle class sorts but basically they never got in power or where able to weild any significant power other than stir up the masses and make controversial statements and polices. They would never have been able to. Labor and the Liberals were too powerful, well entrenched and I guess just too experienced in how to play the politics game as the One Nation leaders (in the case of Pauline Hanson) were just run of the mill people who hadn't any proper experience in politics.

That's kinda attention I'm getting at.

while i agree that the current crop of politicians are not helping maters by blaming the BNP for everything instead of looking at their own problems... I think the main problem is the fact that the internet revolution and in particular websites such as youtube and facebook and really helped the bnp spread its message, and nothing is really being done to combat its viral hate mongering..

I'm from the states... I've gathered from this post that the BNP is a political party. Can someone explain further?

They unite under the idea that white middle class British folk are being oppressed in favour of minorities in Britain, that they're coming over here and taking our jobs, and that only "indigenous" British people deserve to live here, ignoring the fact that whole communities of Asian minorities have grown up in this country for several generations because we needed cheap labour, and as the vestiges of our great empire. Basically they're neo-nazi racists.

As an example, in the recent European elections, party leader Nick "Barrel O' Laughs" Griffin, who won a seat in Europe along with a colleague as the result of fallout from our government's ridiculous playground shenanigans, claimed that it was okay to have a political party that disallowed non-Caucasian members because there is a Black Police Officer's Group. I'm not sure he realised that the Black Police Officer's group isn't trying to kick non-Blacks out of the Police Force...

Yeah. They sound kind of like the KKK.

Nah, the KKK don't lie about being racist. The BNP are all in the closet about.

Though it should be said that they appeal to disenchanted working class voters more than middle class ones.

The BNP have released that they support Hitler at some points, but then denied it later and said it was merely a joke.

So I hear they're trying to limit and ban all foreign imports into the country. So long cars and modern technology...

My opinion stands as racist, homophobic, xenophobic bastards.

So, Nick Griffin MEP, another BNP one, and a few UKIP ones too .... yes, it makes COMPLETE sense to have these anti-Europe people as MEPs. Cheers, Britain!

Well that's the idea. They will oppose new European laws and guidelines that don't fit Britain's interests.
