Dear Fans,
Just want to check in and say hope you all had a good Thanksgiving to those who celebrate ;) Christmas is right around the corner and this time of the year I'm spending the holidays with my daughter and my boyfriend. Hope you enjoy the holidays, and if you're not looking forward to the holidays, then hopefully you are looking forward to the new music that is coming your way :)
In all honesty, the past few months have been a bit confusing for both me, my label and to you guys. With the end of Hot Eye Records, the release of "Free" and letting go of my management, it's been a bit difficult for things to fall in to place as I hoped them to fall, but thank God that recently has changed for the good. There has also been a recent change of mindset in my crazy head as to what I wanted to do next musically and while I was excited about "Queen of Pop Era" and did made it aware that I missed making pop music, that recently changed as well. I was more than halfway finished with "Era", before I started to feel a change in heart and in mind. First of all, I want to open up and say that I dislike making pop music cold-heartedly as of late, and the truth is that I regret many things I've made musically in the past. I'm not sure why I feel that way, but I want to express that because I want to be honest with my fans. Pop music doesn't feel real to me anymore and I'd hate to do something that doesn't feel genuine. Fortunately, my label was able to understand and I was able to go back into the studio and head on my new direction right away and luckily, I was able to write plenty of material and organize some last minute collaborations with some good friends of mine that I've known for years to make an album right away. I even used some songs I've kept in the past year, that I never finished and I finished them. One thing for sure, this album was not rushed one bit. I spent hours each day on the past few weeks working solely on this album and I enjoyed the process of making it.
Now, the new album seeks out the genres of country, soul, rap and modern experimental music. Country is definitely something I didn't see myself doing anytime soon, but I've put my own spin to things and I made sure that you will enjoy this approach from me. I call it a mature country sound, because it's not typical and it's not alternative to what I've done in the past. In fact, "Life's Good" is the more vivid, awaken version of "Free". As you know, my albums always tend to lean on the one before. Instrumentation wise, the album is a bit more piano and guitar driven. Plus, me, Johnny and Hernandez have teamed up for some amazing sons Ive written with them. I can't wait for you all to hear them along with the rest of the LP. Expect "As it Ends" very soon as well. Love you all, it's been such a a wild ride, album-fucking-number-six, Life's Good :) - Stephanie Fierce :)
