Do you release singles as soon as you have enough songs to do so?
Or do you release an album first, waiting to release your higher rated singles?
I generally prefer to release in a way that mimics real life - a single before the album drops, then perhaps a second or third after the album has been released, with B-sides that are not featured on an album.
How do you folks do? |

I usually release about 3 singles and then the album. But that's because I never knew how these things worked on real life. I'm not really bothered. And I also used to feature the b-sides on the album, but I might change. |
I own:
Andrew Guinnard (Post-punk/acoustic) Lucy Tankeray (Pop diva/weird) |

That's cool. There's no right way to do it (at least, I don't think there is), I was just curious to see how people liked to release their shit. If polls were allowed I might have created one.... but you know.... give the peons too much power and.... the rest is history.
So what have you, folks? What's your album and single releasing tendencies? |

One to two singles before the album, then two to three singles after. |
Gillians / Alternative Rock Johnny Young / Vocals & Guitar Sev Young / Lead Guitar Fred Johnson / Bass Vic Dunlop / Drums If you spell Chuck Norris in Scrabble, you win. Forever. I like cheesecake. :D |

I might change around stuff for each album. Usually always a single before the album. Then I might release three more singles after the album's release and then I get a basic four single album. Other times, I might release three singles before the album, and then go on releasing about another four or five singles. Other albums I might release one single and move on. I rarely include b-sides on albums. |

I dont know really, i havent been here long. But i want to release two singles before, then the album, then the third single. To me though im not bothered really about the releases i prefer being popular and touring. But there is a definite satisfaction when you pop out a 99 rated single :) |

depends on the band. with rest in peace i don't like to release too much singles as they're not a hit-maker band and also most of the songs are lenghty. i maybe release one/two singles before/after the release of the album. with other bands, like insert coin and obscene revenge!, i rather release a single before the album and two or three after it. |

Yes, first three singles, then the album and so on and on. Only album bands is something i like a lot, but in this game i think you will never get high in the rankings. Or am i mistaken? |

Singles increase tour turnout, which is extremely handy. |
