Ever wondered how it would feel to be living your last twenty four hours before death? Who would you see, what would you do? How would you react to this terrible news? And most of all, how do you prepare yourself for death, especially when you know its on its way. Fortunately for us, we wont be experiencing such a traumatic event, but Chloe does, in her new Sammy Griffin assisted single off of her new album The Saga Continues out December 18th, 2011
Chloe has been known for writing songs with unorthodox-ed topics to go with the song, most notably in her big hit of last year, W.T.F, featuring the late legend Miss Vanity which pitted two "computer lovers" caught in an event when the catalyst (Chloe) meets this "male" online. When they do decide to meet in person, Chloe realizes that this loved one isn't a man and the person she has fallen in love with is actually a woman (Miss Vanity) and gave Chloe the decision of a lifetime, leave the person you thought you loved because of a sex, or continue the meeting. The song became a huge gay/bi/lesbian trademark song due to it spreading the message of no matter the gender of a person, you may just fall in love with them, it also became a huge love song worldwide. But this time around, Chloe takes a deeper step.
This time, Chloe, with the production of underground producers No Evidence, and longtime collaborators and hit makers The Wolverines gives us a deeply emotional, and heartfelt tune that may make the listener think "What if that was me?". Chloe takes us on a emotional ride in the new song.
The heavily break beat influenced track entitled "24 hours" is a song about only having twenty four hours to live before you actually die. The song starts off with a captivating "movie like intro" and swiftly breaks into a break beat backing beat along with the intro as Chloe doesn't hesitate to bring her utmost emotion onto the track as she sings about knowing her time is coming, trying to stay calm, not being able to, and preparing for death as this gives us the first time Chloe seems to break down emotionally on the track, sounding the most vulnerable, and emotional that she has ever sounded as the chorus picks up as she belts "Twenty Four, Twenty Four, Twenty Four, then I'm gone, then I'm gone, then I'm gone" seemingly feeling as if death is chasing her, and quite frankly the eerie beat with the trumpet like instrument behind it, captivating strings and the fast paced beat the listener may just get that feeling.
In what might just be her best vocal number, ditching rapping entirely for the track, Chloe sings her way all the way to the big breakdown of the song, the bridge, at the
3 minute mark which gives us a treat, the unexpected Sammy Griffin gives us his in take on feeling as if he only had 24 hours to live, saying his farewells to his mother, his father in another emotional turn in the track as Sammy's quick paced, concentrated, and serious rap skills shine thoroughly in the 16 bars he gives in this song.
Following the rap, Chloe gives her biggest note, a nice long belt singing "Farewell" as clock instrumental signals the 24 hours are nearing as the chorus replays along with the clock sounds ticking until the song comes to an abrupt stop. Has she died?
The track goes on sale this Sunday and will serve as the final single released before Chloe's 2nd album The Saga Continues hits stores December 18th, has this single set us in the driving board and is a final statement by determine artist Chloe? Give us your thoughts!
