After several months of obscurity (once again,) new music has come forth from The Nimrods camp. This time exclusively from frontman and guitarist Jimmy Him. The Nimrods are known for being Chameleons in the music scene, constantly chaging their style, and this project definitely relates a more sophisticatedstyle of progressive metal; or at least as sophisticated as a drug-addled 20-something who's naked more often than not can get. Him's music can best be described as a mix of Animals as Leaders, Meshuggah, and Holdsworth-Inspired Jazz Fusion. Mixing distorted jazzy riffs and intricate lead work with heavy de-tuned 8 string riffs as well as a variety of themes, the unnamed tracks have quite a bit to offer. They are completely instrumental yet have different themes in each song such as a more middle eastern sounding song and well as something more mellow and intricate, both of which have a few distorted riffs to bridge the gap between passages. All in all the pieces are more technical and harder to swallow than Him's work with The Nimrods but are less abrasive to those new to metal.

Jimmy said on his work "It took me a while to write these 7 tracks, I plan on organizing them with a few more but for now I like them how they are. I think these songs really showcase me as a guitarist and I guess I'm sort of out to prove I'm still one of the best guitar players in the world. I played an 8 string guitar for all of the songs and then on some I even used a 6 stringed fretless guitar for some solos because it has a really unique sound that you just cant get in a fretted guitar. I also do a little slap-guitar on the songs since I basically have 2 bass strings on my 8 string, only for some clean interlude thingies though. I played bass on the tracks too which was fun because I rarely get to and I also played drums which was the hardest thing I've ever done because of the odd time-signatures but I think I got it down. I think a lot of people may not like these songs but fans of more complex music like Jason Smith probably will. Either way you should check the songs out while they're still free."

Check out the Scandinavian mastermind's newest direction and be sure to say what you think!

OOC: Not my best but it's 12:30 in the morning and I'm pretty tired, just glad to be RPing again.
