Scott H opened his eyes as a ray of sun cut through the gap between the curtains in his hotel room. He yawned and stretched his arms out in front of him, before rubbing his eyes. Lying in the middle of the king size bed, he smiled happily to himself. This day had seemed like it would never come. He had slept like a baby, not concerned with how the day would go. He knew, after all, that it would just be perfect.
Swinging his legs out of bed, the death metal icon stretched again before he stood up and walked to the window. Throwing the curtains open, he was taken slightly aback by how sunny it was. Scott opened the window and leaned on the ledge, looking out over the gardens of the hotel. It was a lovely morning. One of those crisp, sunny and bright, but slightly cold winter mornings that made him just love life. It was the perfect sort of day that he had hoped for. He smiled as he surveyed the gardens for a while longer.
After a while, he wandered back across the room and into the bathroom. He stood in front of the mirror, clad only in his boxer shorts. He ruffled his own hair slightly and grinned at himself.
"Nerves of steel Mr H," he chuckled to himself, smiling at how confident he looked in his reflection. He held his hand up to prove to himself how steady his nerves were, before he whistled along happily, trimming his stubble slightly. He climbed into the shower a few moments later, singing various soppy love songs as he got washed, still seemingly unperturbed at the events he was about to partake in. He thought a lot to himself as he showered.
This is perfect he mused.
She's just perfect…I can't wait to see her. I only hope the day is perfect for Gia.As he stepped out and dried himself off, Scott thought about how he had gotten to this stage in his life. Up until he met Gia, everything had been manic, random and spontaneous. But ever since, he just knew. Everything had fallen perfectly into place. It was as if he didn't even have to work too hard about it. Everything was just amazing to him. Sure, his own family had been a disaster, and he had to do this without any of them. But Sophie and Gia were his family now, and he loved them both more than life. God, he couldn't wait to see them.
He wrapped the towel around himself, and stepped out to make a coffee in the hotel room. He had just started to drink when there was a knock at the door. Throwing it open, he saw Jason Smith, his best friend for many years. A colleague, a comrade and a true friend...and now, his best man. He smiled and warmly embraced Jason before inviting him in.
"Well, Smithy…this is it. The big day," he grinned from ear to ear. "I genuinely could not be happier man." He looked at Jason, wearing a matching suit to the one he would shortly put on. He smiled at him. "Looking fucking sharp dude."
Scott walked back into the bathroom, whistling again.
"Jason, grab 2 beers from the mini fridge man, I need to keep the nerves at bay," he called from the bathroom, as he stood in front of the mirror. He looked at himself again and stroked his stubble slightly.
It'll do he thought,
I know Gia prefers the little bit of stubble to me being clean shaven.Taking some gel in his hands, he rubbed them through his hair, spiking it up into the messy looking upright style he always kept it in these days. Washing his hands and putting on some aftershave, he walked back through to the main room, and sat on the bed, putting on some music. He took a beer from Jason and took a little swig, letting the cold sensation calm him.
"If the truth be told man, I'm actually more excited than I am nervous," he said to Jason. "I've wanted this for a long time you know? Who'd have thought it man. Scott H and Jason Smith. At one time we were the frontmen of the two biggest bands in the world, and now we're gonna be family men in the same month.
He chuckled at the thought before his mind drifted back to Gia again. He knew that they had had a rocky start to their relationship, but he was right in what he said to Jason. He wasn't nervous, he was excited. He knew he wanted this, more than anything, and today everything was going to be perfect. Everything was finally going to be settled. He was at last going to have the family he had wanted for the past few months. He smiled and stood up again.
Scott got into his suit, and after putting his shoes on he walked back into the bathroom to check himself. He looked in the mirror. "Looking good man," he said to himself before snickering.

From the bathroom, he heard the phone in the room ringing, and Jason's voice chatting away to someone. He walked back outside.
"Car's here man," Jason said to him. Scott nodded and downed the last of his bottle of beer before checking he had everything packed. He straightened up his suit and checked his hair one last time. This was it.
Scott took a deep breath. All of a sudden he felt nervous. The moment was finally here. He told himself everything would be alright, as he picked up his bag and hugged Jason again.
"This is it man," Scott said. "Let's go and get me married to the girl of my dreams."
They walked out to the car, and Scott put his bag in the back of the sharpest looking Bentley he had ever seen. He shook hands with the driver who opened the door for him, and then he took another deep breath for managing a smile. He climbed into the car and the door closed behind him. In just a short time he was going to marry the girl he had known was the one for a long while. He had to fight a tear of happiness as he stared out the window, happier than he had ever been.
