Aaron Marks – Live From Fans Choice Awards 2011 Slowly walking onto the stage, Aaron appear to be his normal happy and upbeat self, however behind this mask he is terrified of making a mistake. However, putting his worried thoughts at the back of his mind, Aaron picks up the guitar left by his microphone, and quickly talks to the audience. “Hey everyone, I’m Aaron Marks. This song is gonna feature my best friend Derek Baker. It’s my new single Live My Life. I hope you enjoy it.”As Aaron finishes his short speech to the audience, the lights dimmer, and Aaron’s guitarist Rhys begins the blues guitar riff, whilst a snare drum is used within the introduction of the song. As the vocals from Aaron are heard, the lights suddenly turn into a spotlight, focusing on Aaron who is also playing the rhythm guitar within the song, fairly simplistically, but giving a contrast to the blues guitar riff and keeping the song in Aaron’s style. Aaron raps within the first verse, in his normal, high toned voice. (Aaron Marks singing his little lungs out)The song progresses towards the chorus and Aaron puts down the guitar, whilst Derek Baker runs onto the stage, puts his arm around Aaron and begins to sing the chorus with Aaron. “I’ve gotta live my life, I gotta get this out, gotta get this out, I’m feeling so alive!”, before Derek starts to rap his verse, in a faster, lower tone to Aaron whilst running around the stage, and enaging the audience “COME ON, SING IT IF YA KNOW THE WORDS!” During the verse, Aaron runs to the DJ decks located next to the drum kit and makes a simple scratch effect in time with the hip-hop drum beats before running to finish the song with Derek, both rapping the end of the song as the drums finish, before hugging, before Derek takes a bow and walks off the stage. (Derek Baker telling it how it is!)Aaron addresses the audience in a joking tone “imagine having that guy as a best friend! He’s crazy, but I love him! Anyway, I’ve got one more song for you, it’s brand new. Nobody will have heard this, other than those in the room!” This announcement receives various cheers and clapping from the crowd as Aaron, seeming significantly more confident, sits behind a piano that has been wheeled onto the stage. All other members of his live band have also left the stage, apart from Rhys who has picked up Aaron’s acoustic guitar and starts to play a soft, low chord, whilst Aaron plays a repetition of slow notes on the piano for roughly 30 seconds, before Aaron starts to sing in a low, slow voice. The spotlight is focused on Aaron, behind the piano. The piano and guitar consistently play there notes, whilst Aaron only sings for around a minute, with the lyrics being repeated as “You’ve left me behind, to love alone, the only thing I want, is for you to be home.” The song then returns to being instrumental, with a brief acoustic guitar solo, whilst the piano has stopped. Aaron then sings more lyrics with just the guitar playing the slow chords. The song comes to a swift close, and Aaron speaks to the audience as he begins to walk of the stage “I hope you liked that new song, it’s the most personal song I’ve ever written. It’s called Love Alone. Thank you, I love you guys!” Setlist:Live My Life (featuring Derek Baker) Love Alone
