A girl comes over from New Zealand to travel around Europe, to see the world, and the last thing she's looking for is any guy, let alone a guy like me. Plenty of chances to do something about it, and get it over with, but instead I've avoided the damn issue scared that saying anything will just make things so awkward we couldn't be friends anymore. And I have the cheek to give other people advice... |

Lol, yea.
If she is of any level of decent maturity, then you guys should be able to be friends.
Unlike Hana and me. Lol, weigh the options.
Something better/something worse vs. steady unmoving friendship
Looking back, I would have chosen option two, but option one could be better. Does that make sense? I doubt it. lol |

It's just not often I meet girls who I can connect with on any meaningful level. We both love walking, hiking, the outdoors, we both have a a love of travel, we're both relatively quiet people, we both share a lot of opinions about the world, about life. That and she's real pretty. There's a lot of guys in the office who like her because she's such a likeable person, it's fair to say if she even were looking for anyone, I'd probably be pretty low down on the list.
I always fall for the wrong girl. But if I said something, and it didn't work out, and I was able to stay friends with her, I think I would be okay. Because having even met someone like that has been such an important experience for me. |

Well, I can say I'm in a similar situation. I've met this girl and since then all I can think about is her. She likes girls, so I guess I have a chance haha. In january, when she's back at my town, I'll buy her a christmas present and write a note quoting a song and I'll wait for her reaction. We've already gone on a pseudo date, just the two of us, but I've decided to get to know her better first. All I can say is, be cute and indirectly say things that can be interpreted that you're interested. If she plays along, keep going, if not, well, say you were joking, give up and keep the friendship. I've done that and so far the girl has been playing along. One thing that can get in the way of your relationship (and also mine, for the matter) is if you get too close as friends. THAT can ruin everything. |

THAT can ruin everything. Yeah, I figure that's the best plan. The two of us went on a 10 mile walk last Monday. Was supposed to be a bunch of us, but everyone pulled out so it was just me and her. And I think we got to know each other pretty well over that time, and towards the end we ended up discussing my beard, her position being that I should shave it off, and my position obviously being that I would need a pretty damn good reason to shave it off now. Especially now I've been keeping it about as short as it's been for a very long time. That and we both got covered in a ridiculous amount of mud thanks to my bad navigation. So much fun though, wading knee-deep up a muddy hill. |

Pure myth Yeah, but if you're talking about someone who's already made a choice not to get involved with anyone, because of her not wanting to be here long term, and not wanting to gain commitments at this stage of her life, that sounds like exactly the sort of situation this friend zone thing would apply. |

Lost is either a work of utter genius, or completely & utterly stupid. Having watched up to S5E01, I'm not sure where I fall. I hated the flashes forward in season 4, as I think having hope for the characters would have been better. But all the stuff about the Oceanic 6 left me with at least a strong sense that all would not be well. |

I gave up on Lost because it is literally the most frustrating TV series I've ever seen. I'd already lost faith in Television after Pushing Daisies got cancelled but Lost had the strength of just wonderful acting through the first two seasons with great characters and even better plot devices but it all peaked with Season Two. After that I just found myself increasingly angered by the way the plot panned out, new characters brought in just to reinforce our dependence on the central ones and so on. It was just bad scriptwriting at a point but the strong acting almost kept me coming back. Almost. |

I never got past season 1 of Lost. It was great, but just sorta lost interest. I may buy the boxsets, that way I will most definitely watch them.
Really digging The Walking Dead with the rest of the world. |

I got as far as about halfway through Season 1 of Lost and got bored of it tbh.
The Walking Dead though, now that is special. |

Yeah, big fan of The Walking Dead. Pit its went on a break now until February. Im hoping that this second half of the series is a little more exciting. Its been very calm and 'safe' so far. Although i think the best is yet to come! |

I'd rather just read The Walking Dead comics at some point than watch the telly show.
But I hope to do both, got the 1st season on my PC. |

Trying to pack thrice the things you came back to Warwickshire with into one tiny bag sucks.
Working 30th/31st at the nightclub sucks too. |

I was recently reading Cracked.com and they were kinda right, it seems like AMC is doing their best to make us hate all the character, the biggest improvement from the comic though is Daryl. Daryl's a total badass to the point where even the comic is going to have him but yeah:
Comic > TV Show
They need to go ahead and make a Fables TV Show too.
Plus, it's hard to watch The Walking Dead crawl now with Breaking Bad getting so fucking exciting. |

They're not the end by any stretch, the point is that the story continues beyond getting off the island, and that maybe they would realise there really was nothing waiting for them back there. |

All characters have major flaws, which is suppose makes it more realistic.. but makes it harder for us as viewers to like them. I almost pissed my pants when i thought Daryl had been bitten! |
