OOC: This is a flashback of Jimmy Him and his ex-Angela's (of a short lived cranberries/nirvana/pearl jam/ black flag kinda band called The Living Zombies)lives before The Nimrods broke into the mainstream. The italics are the thoughts and narrations of the the two of them unless noted by quotation marks.

New Years was insane, finally it was 2004 and I just turned 18 too.Partying at Chris' house was really cool but not even all the pot that was there could match up to what happened afterwords. I'd known Jimmy since last year when I moved to California. I'm from Quebec, but my parents are devout Catholics and kicked me out of the house when they walked in and I was about to have sex with my longtime boyfriend. Luckily my best friend Chris had a car and we decided to move to California and continue our band we were starting. I play the drums and he plays guitar and sings, Jim is teaching me guitar too!the first time I saw Jimmy it was when The Nimrods were playing. I loved the band, they had a fast and heavy sound, they're all great musicians. I have a feeling one day Kit will be the best drummer in the world, he's already the best in Berkeley. I love The Nimrods, but I love Jimmy even more. When I first saw him I was in love. He's small and thin but muscular, long blonde/brown hair depending on the time of year, and deep brown eyes, he also has the cutest hint of a Scandinavian accent which makes me less self-conscious about my French one. I'm getting too sappy though.After the first show I saw, I kept seeing The Nimrods play every two weeks or so, I was always in the front and I guess Jimmy just began to notice me. About 3 months after the first show, Davey invited me to a party after one of their shows. So he, Jimmy,and I all hopped in Kit's truck and went to one of their friend's houses and just hung out and smoked a lot of weed. Jimmy and I began to have a conversation and then kept talking even when everyone else was asleep. We both loved music and talked about it for hours, as well as whatever else came to mind. Then right before we went to sleep, it happened. He kissed me,I can't even describe it. I felt like gravity didn't exist and that I was floating. After we stopped he told me goodnight and went to sleep. I thought that a moment like that would never happen again, but that was just the beginning

OOC: Yeah, this is pretty rad! Definitely think there should be more comments on a post like this. I honestly couldn't even tell you hadn't been RPing for a while, given how solid that was. I'll be looking out for the rest for sure

I remember back when everything meant something. Not to be a downer or anything but even with drugs and what not, everything seemed right at one point. I think it was because of her. After that one night at my friends house, our first kiss, we were pretty inseparable.I taught her guitar, and we ended up hanging out just about every day seeing as we weren't in school. One night after a concert we were hanging out backstage, the show had been amazing, we played it at Gilman and it was just perfect. Kit had managed to acquire some heroin to celebrate. I'd done smack before but only about once a month or something, I definitely wasn't a junkie or strung out or anything. Angie had never done it before though,and I was so happy about the show that I wanted to celebrate with her. I took the liberties of shooting her up myself and afterword we just ending up staring at each other smiling and trying not to fall asleep, before eventually falling asleep. That was the beginning of my addiction, I didn't really care for heroin as much as I did for weed or for speed but Angie loved it and I didn't mind shooting up with her. We ended up just spending a lot of time listening to old records from Pink Floyd or Iggy Pop or sometimes even The Melvins or doom metal bands while strung out. I think a lot of those times ended up giving TLZ our sound. After several months of abuse, New Years came. Angie and I were definitely official at this point and went to a party together along with the rest of The Nimrods and also of TLZ. I think that party was the most fucked up I've ever been. Davey and I played several rounds of beer pong, then smoked ourselves stupid for about an hour. At around 11 we decided to do some speed so that we wouldn't end up falling asleep from smoking and being piss drunk, I think that was the worst idea. Angie and I had already decided to shoot up at midnight and just end up crashing at the party or something but shit got wild kind of fast. We did indeed shoot up but Angie was definitely higher than I was. While I was talking to friends and what not, she kept whispering that she wanted me and to come with her somewhere private. Eventually I obliged just to get her to chill out, but as soon as we turned away from the majority of the crowd, she was taking my pants off. I was extremely confused but being 18 was forced to oblige. I'm not going to lie and say I didn't enjoy the events that transpired but something didn't seem right. I was right, it all started to go downhill from there. |
