  Angie Martinez: What’s up?! It’s your girl Angie Martinez! It’s Friday and we have a special guest here with us. Her new E.P, In My Zone is in stores now. Please welcome Allura Silk!
Allura: Hi Angie!!! What’s up NYC?!
Angie Martinez: It’s been a while since I saw you. The last time you were here was about a year ago.
Allura: Yes! It’s been a minute, but you know I have to come to you first whenever I’m in NYC.
Angie Martinez: Yes you do! (Angie & Allura laugh) I am holding you to that promise. But a lot has changed since you were last here. New label. New LOOK! New music! How does it feel?
Allura Silk: Yes a lot has changed haha! Well it feels amazin’. To be here and have new music out, a label that supports me and has my back 24/7. For my fans to back me up the way they do, and for my first album coming out soon. There is really no greater feeling. I feel like I have a long way to go, but that’s love. I’m just happy that this E.P In My Zone is out right now!
Angie Martinez: So I have to tell you my favorite track off the E.P, and I’m a hip-hop girl to the core, but I love “Captivate the Night”. It’s a little hip-hop but VERY POP. But the beat is sick. And I found out you produced that yourself so that’s hot.
Allura: Thank you! Yeah I don’t think many people realize that I produce my own music. The whole E.P was written and produced by me. Silky Smoove. Haha. But with the album, I am getting help with DJ Thunder in the writing and producing departments.
Angie Martinez: Oh really?! Can you tell us any other collaboration that’s on the album?
Allura: You know, right now I can’t. I wish I could Angie but you gonna get me in trouble if I do. I will say this I have a beautiful collaboration with a special new artist that has owned this year. But I can’t say his or her name. And I am trying to get this one collaborator but I haven’t reach out to them yet. But come March or April I WILL BE AT THE ANGIE MARTINEZ SHOW announcing all the collaborators on this album.
Angie Martinez: Alright NOW!! I’m holding you to it! We gonna make that happen. So last year it looked like there were gonna be a lot of new faces in Hip-Hop, especially with the females, but it’s very few in the mainstream we see now. We see you and Nicki Minaj but what do you think about the decreasing amount of females in Hip-Hop?
Allura: *Sighs*. I think it’s sad. Like really sad. Because when you look at Hip-Hop as a whole in the late 80’s and the whole 90’s you see that women slowly began to become very dominant forces in Hip-Hop. And then you just start seeing less and less in less, it really shows we are not what we were in music before. But we can still get there its just going to take some time. And I feel blessed, and women should feel bless that you have women like myself and Nicki Minaj repping Hip-Hop hard and becoming a part of mainstream music and look at it as hope. A beacon of light.
Angie Martinez: When you were here, you had a little beef with Shantel Stilleto. Have you two made up?
Allura: *Looks lost*. I’m sorry, who were you talking about? I didn’t know she still exists, my bad but next topic to answer your question! *Laughs*
Angie Martinez: Allura, you are a trip!
Allura: I’ve been around the world.
