Mike O'Brien: Synth & Effects About:Actually The Enemy is a post-hardcore band from Fort Wayne, Indiana. They are primarily a post-hardcore band but their sound implements many different elements; from heavy, dark breakdowns, brutal screams, symbolic lyrics, and deep dubstep riffs. Actually The Enemy prides themselves on the uniqueness of their sound and their ability to mix them all together. The band's goal is not to become the most popular or liked band but to play music the way they want to regardless of what others think.
Bios:C.J. Sandmann:Originally from a small Chicago suburb. C.J. went to college in Indiana where he played college baseball. During his time at school he met Troy and started playing and writing with him. After baseball finished, he began to focus solely on the band. He wanted to be able to make a band that could be as harsh as Oh, Sleeper but as melodic as We Came As Romans. C.J. is also the primary songwriter for Actually The Enemy. His lyrics are wrapped in symbolism and laced with mystery. As a side project he writes novels and runs a Christian outreach program revolving around hardcore music.
Troy Prendergast:Troy was born and raised in Fort Wayne. His love for music began at a young age. He constantly jumped from band to band in middle school and high school but stopped when he got to college. None of his bands had ever gone out of the garage and he was ready to call it quits on music until he met C.J.. Troy is heavily influenced by Thrash metal and brings the speed and intensity of his roots to Actually The Enemy.
Brooks Morrison:
Brooks grew up in Kokomo, Indiana. He began playing guitar at the age of 5 and hasn't stopped since. Brooks is the oldest member of Actually The Enemy at 25. He joined the band after his previous band, Storm the Fort, broke up after 7 years. He had played in Storm the Fort since his Junior year in high school. His friend, Mike Harris, had been playing with C.J. and Troy and called him up asking if he would want to come and join them. Brooks hung up the phone and immediately rushed over and hasn't left since.
Mike Harris:Harris grew up just outside of Indianapolis. He began playing the piano at the age of 6 and was a prodigy. His mother continually forced the piano on him because of his skill. Harris began to grow angry with her and ended up smashing his keyboard at home one night during high school. Once, he calmed down he decided that he would no longer play piano. His mother was insistent that he be able to play an instrument, so he picked the drums.
Mike O'Brien:
Mike grew in Boston and moved to Fort Wayne about a year ago. He had been in a band in Boston but after the move they replaced him. He started taking DJ-ing jobs across the city until he came across a help wanted sign that looked promising. He went to the garage where Actually The Enemy was practicing. Mike was instantly accepted in because they needed a synth to make the effects they wanted
Keith Talbert:
Keith has always lived in Fort Wayne. He is Mike O'Brien's cousin and was the last to join Actually The Enemy. The band had everything they needed to record but they still needed a bassist for shows. Keith became the obvious choice then and was asked to join the band after playing at a graduation party.
News-Actually The Enemy is currently in the process of writing and recording their debut album.
