Say what you will about "helping aspiring artist", but I'll never trust a man who's gotten into to music because it's his new "business idea". It'll be a cold day in hell when someone discovers the secret to setting out to monetize a brand (read: Label) while retaining the artistic integrity of it's acts. You can't start a label as a business venture aiming to push honest, viable bands into stardom and expect them to stay true to themselves, because 99% of the time there is no money in that. You either start a label as a platform for cool bands and pray that one of them takes off, or your dreams of monetizing your business will ultimately end in you pushing bands into conforming to molds and patterns that will produce results in cold hard cash. It's not to say a businessman shouldn't found a label, cause god knows we need a place to house all the shitty Pro-tools/PR sterilized B-list pop sensations and desperate starlets looking for that "one big break", but cut the bullshit about being a business focused on helping out aspiring artists. This is a guy who's whole life has been about finding the safest, most stable business venture, and 9 times out of 10, that's NOT what you'll get by trying to support truly talented acts and bands. I don't doubt he'll find some cool bands and give them a leg up, but I wouldn't trust this goon for a second to let those bands run free with their artistic visions at the expense of his "business".

"Well Jacob, the idea behind this label was to take unsigned artists that are yet to release an album and help them get only their first album out there. After that they have the option to leave and go to a more commercial label. I came to music because i have already made my money, and now I want to spend it in a way that makes me happy - and in the long run, others happy too.
