"you don’t need a saving grace"Title: Saving Grace Released: January 8th Genre: Indie-pop, Indie-rock, post-rock Label: Take Action Records Writer: Blake Harris Producer: Colby Taylor The song.. Starting with a steady drum beat to an acoustic back-drop, and a short piano key's heard playing in the background the to rhythm of the verses before singer Blake comes in with his soft vocals. The bass throughout the verses and indeed the whole song is very sombre and barely noticeable for the best part of the song, but it is used to their advantage as the drummers bass drum adds enough boom to keep the song from sinking. Lead guitarist Tyler shows off his talent with a few short riffs here and there, without expressing too much creative freedom, the song sticks to the boundaries with a catchy indie-pop chorus and group vocals adding extra effects to the song. As we enter the bridge, we are introduced to more 'woah' group vocals, before Blake again takes over with fast paced singing before quieting down as, when just the piano playing single key's is the sonly sound heard before a rather haunting version of the 'woah' enter the frame again and singer Blake starts getting more aggressive on vocals as he comes close to screaming 'you don't need a saving grace'. Then comes the final chorus which plays out again to lead vocalist Blake Harris as he shifts tone down until he is almost whispering the final few verses to the song. Writers view.. I think for me, Saving Grace is obviously one of the more, radio-friendly songs on the record and definitely one of my favorites we've ever done. It all came together really during one of our first recording sessions. We all start jamming out to it, and it just flowed and clicked right away. Tyler got an acoustic guitar out and just started playing the tune I wrote it on, but tweaked it a little which then helped Ethan on drums start producing a rhythm to the song. I played a little bit of piano on it, which is again a little bit of our experimental side shining through, we're always willing to try new things. So the song is really just an indie-rock song stripped down to its core, its not too in your face, and its got a really nice flow. The song was written about one of my good friends in high-school. She ah, went through a really bad break-up in the summer with her boyfriend of like 5 or 6 years, and she was really struggling to digest it all, to believe essentially that what they had was over. Shes such a good friend of mine, and she just broke down in front of me, when she told me that it was over. So i wrote this song for her to help her, and.. well, it still made her cry, but for much better reason this time! So despite the lyrical meaning and content, its actually what I would refer to as one of the 'happier' songs on the album, one more up-beat ones. I'm really pleased with it on how it all came together and i think it is probably, the best indication of what Radio Static are about both lyrically and musically. It was also produced by our good friend, Colby who worked on the full album with us too. - Blake. Lyrics..(Group Vocals)Wake up in the morning and taste the summer air Going out having fun, you don’t really care Put it to the back of, off your mind The one is out there, you don’t need help to find Love is always, so, so blind Keep searching and don’t look behind WhoaJust go, Throw out your doubts, this is not the time Swallow your thoughts, stop looking for signs Keep moving forwards, try and rotate it around Don’t stop now your close to the ground You don’t need me to save you, I promise that you will, pull throughGet out of your bed now and come get some fresh air Don’t listen to what they say, give them the stare Don’t listen to a word, he said He will only try to, fuck with you head I know you wish that, you were dead I promise the future, listen to what I plead WhoaJust go, Throw out your doubts, this is not the time Swallow your thoughts, stop looking for signs Keep moving forwards, try and rotate it around Don’t stop now your close to the ground You don’t need me to save you, I promise that you will, pull throughWhoa, Whoa Whoa, Whoa Toss him away like a live grenade, Don’t fall for that game he played What he did is a real big shame Pretty soon he’ll regret what he did Don’t listen to any plea he may bid You don’t need a saving grace, Take it slow it is not a race Whoa, Whoa You don’t need a saving grace, You don’t need a saving grace, You don’t need a saving grace, No, no, noJust go, Throw out your doubts, this is not the time Swallow your thoughts, stop looking for signs Keep moving forwards, try and rotate it around Don’t stop now your close to the ground You don’t need me to save you, I promise that you will, pull throughYou don't need a saving grace, You don’t need a saving grace, You don’t need a saving grace, No, no, no Sounds Like..
