Sweet Decline – Julia Volkova’s New single



Julia has been proved herself as a great musician while she was still with ElectroDeath, where she wrote and produced several songs. But her instincts always pushed her to rock songs, and she never denied this to anyone. Once she is no longer with ElectroDeath, she is ready to go on her solo career and for that she is releasing today her very first single for her upcoming album. She ended up her contract with ElectroDeath on December, where the band finished their world tour WICCA on Brazil, after it she started to record her upcoming album on her own studio, working alone with some friends help.

Julia comments: This is the first song I’m releasing as a single from my upcoming album, it is far different from everything I have done with ElectroDeath. This new album will be my departure from electronic music, and not that I don’t like or I regret that, not really, electronic music is still a passion of mine, but I always dreamed to be a rock and roll chick! And I feel like this is the time for me to do that! I hope my old fans will like it, and maybe I can make new fans too, so far I’ll be releasing everything by myself, but I’m cling to sign a deal with any label that feel interested about my solo projects… anyway this is the new me!

The single is still an independent release once she doesn’t have any label contract yet, but it will be released on ITunes and Amazon on Digital format.

Song Description: The song starts with a simple piano melody and the incredible high voice of Julia, giving the listener a peaceful but hopeless sensation. As she starts to sing the song first strophe the song goes growing with a classical violin melody plus some low percussion giving the song a more dying feeling then when it first started. As the second strophe starts the song grows a bit more, with electric guitars and a very soft drum sequence, Julia sings this strophe with additional backing vocals recorded by her. The song goes growing as the melody keeps becoming more rock and faster too. The third strophe is the climax of the song, now we have the drums, the guitar, the piano and everything that has been added to the song’s melody from the beginning of the song. Before the last phrases of the song, al melodies stop and the song comes back to that simple piano melody of the beginning, Julia ends up singing the last phrases and the song comes back with all its full melodies ending it some seconds after Julia’s singing. Lyrics are about a relationship where Julia is facing the fact that she was never loved by the person she thought that loved her and also she is saying to her love interest that while she realizes it. It is written in a straight perspective, where a man is singing to his girlfriend.

A heavy rainy night, Julia is inside a car with her boyfriend discussing their relationship.

Jose didn’t answer the question, instead of it, he just bowed his head, and Julia understood that he couldn’t answer that question, not in words, but of course Julia noticed that Jose still loves his first girlfriend. Without saying anything, Julia leaves the car in the middle of the storm, as she starts to walk slowly in the street, the song starts to be played.

Julia is walking and singing at the same time, lots of black and white clowns are passing by her and they keep looking at her, like she was a poor girl, they all are holding umbrellas but Julia, she’s totally trying to wash all the remaining feelings she had for Jose. When she reach the corner of the street, the song enters in its first breakdown melody, where Julia sits down on the pavement.

The second strophe of the song is sung while Julia is sited down on the streets pavement, the rain is not so heavy like before, and there aren’t the black and white clowns walking by, now among the clouds in the sky, the suns starts to appear, and the streets are completely empty, Julia keeps singing the second strophe of the song till the rain is completely over and the sun morning sun was shining in the sky.

The second breakdown melody of the song, which is more heavy and rock then the first one, Julia stands up to keep walking, now with the morning sun, people are walking in the street, where Julia is, and as they go passing by, they smile to Julia, making her smile too.
The third strophe of the song is sung by Julia while she is walking under the sunlight, looking at people and feeling better from that rainy sad night, she keeps singing till she reaches her own house, and she stops in front of her door to get her keys on her bag.

As the last breakdown melody of the song is played, a car comes by the street, the same car Julia left last night, the car stops in front of Julia’s door, where she is trying to open it so she can get in her house, once the car stopped Julia turns back and look to the driver of the car who is called Jose, her ex-boyfriend, he is crying, but in a subtle way, than Julia sings the last strophe of the song.

As the song goes ending with its final breakdown melody, Julia goes walking in her house, and her ex-boyfriend leaves with his car, once Julia had disappeared from her front door.
