Info
'Smile About It' is a mid-tempo R&B song. At the start a low note on a piano plays before Dustyn opens the song with his rich yet emotional voice. Whilst Dustyn sings the intro, the piano plays with him and continues when he finishes. Suddenly the smooth beat kicks in and plays for a few seconds before Oscar sings the first to verses. The music begins to slow back down in pace as Billy sings the pre-chorus with loud vocals. The beat then returns and all the boys sing together and harmonize beautifully in the chorus. Oscar sings the third verse straight after the chorus; still flowing with the beat. Again, it slows down as Riley sings the pre-chorus this time. After the chorus, the piano and Dustyn have their part again as he sings the middle 8. On his last line he hits a long high note which he continues to hold even when the others return to the chorus. After the first few lines of the last chorus, Dustyn powerfully sings ad-libs before rejoining the others in the remaining part of the chorus. The song ends on the boys harmonising together on the last line.

"I think that this is one of the most powerful songs that we've recorded so far. Not just lyrically but vocally too because many people see us as 'just a cheesy manufactured boy band' but the truth of the matter is that we care about our music and put just as much work into it as Katie Coyle or Glamazon or Ryan Ross Hernandez does. I'm also a huge fan of R&B so when this was chosen as the second single, I was over the moon!"
Dustyn
"I'm so happy that this was chosen to be single number 2 because it shows a different side to us from our previous release; 'Everything About You'. I wrote this song in December as a sort of follow up to 'Everything About You', you know; the same girl you love, the same feelings that was expressed in that song all sort of came together to form this one. The difference with this one is that it is more emotional and the girl who we are singing about seems to have us basically not wanting to live without her anymore whereas in the first song it was a more loved up/naive sort of vibe."
Oscar
"First of all I want to thank our little Dustyn for writing the song because many fans overlook how much work he puts in and tend to just fangirl over Billy's pout and my hair, so a BIG THANK YOU Dustyn! Secondly, I want to say that this song is one of my personal favourites and the whole meaning behind the song is really sweet. Oh and my mum loves it so that's another positive! I would also like to dedicate this song to Ms Eilidh Greene who is a very special lady and someone who makes me smile about anything < Hey, see what I did there?

SMILE ABOUT IT [SNIPPET]
You take all the pieces and make them fit
You take what's broken and then fix it
All of the bad things just blow over
Whenever you knock on my door
You take what's good and you make it great
You take all my feelings and remove the hate
Whenever you're around, you pick me up when I'm down
And help me to smile about it, smile about it
Never thought that I could ever feel this way
About a girl I met only 3 months from today
But you've got something, a very special power,
To make me feel ecstatic even in my darkest hour
When people's skies are grey, when they're feeling blue
If only they could have someone like you
Maybe it's just me, but I think we're meant to be
Cos every time you're near, my heart's skip-skipping beats
Girl, you have no idea how much you mean to me
Please just accept all the credit and see;
You take all the pieces and make them fit
You take what's broken and then fix it
All of the bad things just blow over
Whenever you knock on my door
You take what's good and you make it great
You take all my feelings and remove the hate
Whenever you're around, you pick me up when I'm down
And help me to smile about it, smile about it
When I hold your hand, all my worries ease
Girl you are the honey to my bee
If you were to leave, I think I'd just die off quietly
Cos there's no good life to live without you babe
Yeah, you have no idea how much you mean to me
I was blinded but now you are all I see
You take all the pieces and make them fit
You take what's broken and then fix it
All of the bad things just blow over
Whenever you knock on my door
You take what's good and you make it great
You take all my feelings and remove the hate
Whenever you're around, you pick me up when I'm down
And help me to smile about it, smile about it
If I were to die, I'd still be a happy man
Cos I know you'll still be there holding my hand.
Whenever I think about me and you
and all of the silly things that we do
I get all emotional and it's nothing I can control
You mean so much to me
You take all the pieces and make them fit (You take all the pieces, yeah!)
You take what's broken and then fix it (Fix it right up!)
All of the bad things just blow over
Whenever you knock on my door (Kn-knock, knock)
You take what's good and you make it great
You take all my feelings and remove the hate
Whenever you're around, you pick me up when I'm down
And help me to smile about it, smile about it
