i can no longer practice song writing now that my level is 100.

i thought i read in another thread that people still practice even after their band's stats are 100 or higher. unfortunately, whenever i try to practice song writing i get an error message.

also... i've written 7 songs. 5 with a 97 rating & 2 with a 95 rating.

i want to put out a couple singles and then release an album, but the charts are down. should i wait until they are working again, or does it not really matter?

Songwriting only goes up to 100, so practicing songwriting is a waste of points.
Abilitys goes maybe to 200, so thats no problem.
Releasing singles is no waste at all, becouse your stats will go higher.

ok. so... even though the charts are down i still get the benefits when i release material.

how high should my popularity be before releasing my first single? album?

On the old game songwriting used to be able to hit 101 and you could continue practicing, as the internal database read sometimes that 100 would be 99.6 so you could boost it.

Yes, water is indeed best but so sorely lacking in taste...hence beer is for me, beer bellies be damned (too late for me....thankfully my g/f doesn't care :D)
