Just a little quick one for today (Monday), since I only just got here and I've done very very little so far. In the morning today, we just set up equipment and tested out sounds and stuff...it's all really boring, but it's just one of those things you have to do if you're going to be recording a chart topper :P So yeah, today was a bit of a surreal day for me. It was the first time I've been in a real studio since I recorded my debut last year, since I decided to record my EP in my own home in Texas. It was a kind of homecoming if you will, because studios have been far kinder to me than anywhere else on earth. I walked into Konk Studios in London, and it just smelled of music. I just felt totally at home the very second I got there. It really was quite a wonderful experience to be back in a studio again. This place is so full of history and musical heritage, that I kind of thought..."Wow...I've made it....I really have." I won't be resting on my laurels though, this is my chance to really make a big difference in my career, and prove to everyone what I can do for real. This is going to be way different to my first album, but it's going to be a monumental moment in my life, and I hope everyone likes it. The biggest news of today though, was that I got to meet my awesome new producer and co-singer for this album. RRH is paying a total BOMB to have this guy here, as he is in huge demand, and I am so excited to have him here to bounce my ideas off and be able to get advice from. He is really a fountain of musical knowledge. For real. Let me introduce you to Josh Meyer, the guy who is going to make my music sound so much better than my debut. Anyway, tomorrow we start recording for real. I better get some sleep and get ready to make an awesome album. SERIOUSLY, do not release your album on the same day as Katie. Other than that I'm excited to hear it as a fan, as a friend, and as your boss. I surely think it will be a fantastic record. And hopefully it floods me with just more massive amounts of money.... I mean, brings the label great success. ;)
