Meh. I wouldn't call Nicki Minaj the future queen of rap. Her verse on Monster was alright. She tries way too hard.

See I can understand that because there's tons of people I don't like because of their music. My previous statement was just referring to the people that can't get over something that happened three years ago. Not saying what he did was right because I wouldn't play that if he did that to me but at the same time I don't feel like people need to be judging him. There's no one on this entire Earth that has the right to judge someone else based on what they did. We all make mistakes and do things that we're not proud of. Those people just need to forgive and forget. Not that hard to do. Oh and I realize I wasn't going to say anything but I did so yeah lol.

That's a different matter and there's nothing to forgive. I never hated you or anything like that. You just annoy the hell out of me majority of the time.

im just going to come out and say it....i kinda like katy perry's music. even if i know i have far too much punk rock cred to be caught dead listening to it.

So love Nicki Minaj, her music is wonderful :) She's really being different and not afraid to try new things. It IS possible to be a singer and rapper at the same time. That's like saying it's not possible to play piano and guitar.
Also love Chris Brown, very amazing artist. I could really care less about the opinions of him from others because they are all just relating him to one thing and need to move on. I feel weird for comparing this but many people think we should move on from Sept 11 and it killed thousands of people, women, men, and children but you guys can't move on from that one mistake he made 3 years ago? Wow. I also feel that the people still stuck on that are stubborn and ignorant. I believe we're supposed to be judging him on his MUSIC and not what he has done right? Okay then, amazing artist.
Katy Perry is also another great artist. She's almost like Adele with her success but not quite. She's definitely a great songwriter and singer and I also applaud her for trying to be different. I wish people would take the time to notice people based on their music and not what they do. I hate Rihanna with a passion but I cannot deny she makes some very good songs. Everyone who's still talking bad about him just sounds like a bitter old person and it really doesn't hurt him because he's still doing great so meh, just my opinion. Probably gonna get paragraphs about this.

Oh and there's actually a lot more worse things a man can do like murder, homicide, terrorist attacks, rape, etc. Chris Brown did none of these.

Again, thought this thread was to be to talk about the music of these artists, not their personalities. If you don't like them, why even comment? You're just trying to start an argument or "debate". That's in another thread unfortunately.

People do tend to see the worse in other people, but when it comes to the arts, that's just shitty reviewing/criticism. Hardcore nazis or racists can still be great actors, just doesn't mean I'll necessarily like them outside of the film. Same with Chris Brown, even though I don't like him, does not mean I'll hear his music and say, "THIS MUSIC WAS MADE BY THE HANDS OF A WIFE BEATER! GOD DAMN HIM AND DAMN HIS MUSIC!", no. That's just shitty. I'd rather say, "Well fuck, this is generic." and keep flipping through stations. So -
TL;DR - Personal Life =/= Quality of Music. If you're going to bash the guy, bash him for his repetitive music, not his choices.
