Danny Smith was born and raised in the suburbs of Toronto, Canada. He grew up in a middle class family and lived with both his parents, including 1 older brother & one younger sister. Since the age of 9, every summer, Danny would attend a music camp and write and perform songs there. He won multiple school talent shows and became popular in Toronto by the age of 12. On December 9, 2010, his mother died in a fatal car accident. At around 7 p.m. Canada Time, while his mother was coming home from her job, her car slid on ice and rammed into a truck, fatally killing her. This devastated Danny ad the rest of his family and his mother's friends. Danny had to take therapy lessons to learn to deal with the fact that his mother died. He sometimes writes about her in his songs. In January of 2012, the famous Will.Rocca, discovered Danny on Youtube and soon after, contacted him. At first, Danny thought it was a setup but eventually, after a live video chat session on ooVoo, Danny and his father traveled to L.A. to meet with Will. Danny is currently recording his debut album, but intends to release a 6 track EP by March 2012.
