Tbf, as asdf first mentioned, I was more sad Farrah Fawcett died.

I'm such a queen.

Doesn't every artist have a bad reputation?

Britney Spears- Shaving her head, she is still having hits and selling out concerts

Janet Jackson & Justin Timberlake- The nipple incident, they are still sucessful.

Christina Aguillera- For going all sexual and the "Dirty" song controversy

R-kelly- Peeing on an underage girl, having sex, he still has hits

Whitney Houston, Madonna, BSB, PCD
should I go on

and his bad reputation is because people want to ruin his career, It was never proven that he molested children at all.

Britney Spears had a mental breakdown

Janet Jacksons a slut and Justin Timberlakes a nob, however it was pretty funny

Christina Aguillera is, again, a slut. However saying somethings contreversial because its sexual is a very idealistic view of the world. Sex is everywhere and sexy songs/ music videos/ dance's are on MTV every single day.

R Kelly's a wanker

Not so sure about the final four, as Troy said could you explain some more about them?

Wheras all your points are mostly correct, Michael Jackson had an even worse reputatioon because its not just a bit of tit being shown on thre telly, it was accusations involving children that ruined him. No normal male builds a theme park in his back garden and then invites little children round his house to play. He wasnt right mentally. Its very sad, but at the same time you CANNOT deny ther fact that he was mad.

Funny thing I noticed, One day people are making fun of him and calling him a child rapist. Next day, people are mourning and calling him a legend.

Thats cause
He had so much shit against him for being a rapist
but
he is a legend, whether you liked him or not you have to admit that.

One thing I hate is getting a Giant Reputation, After you die.
I read something about Elvis, on the day he died he sold more records in a day than he could sell in a week when he was alive.
MJ is everywhere now as a legend but before he died he wasn't known as a legend to half of the people he is a legend to now.

It's just stupid.

That is happening because people have realized what they have lost. People are so conceided that they thought it wouldn't matter to talk bad about michael even though in their minds they knew they liked him. To Know that he is gone and they know he wont ever make music again has made those people feel a little guilty for what they have said about him. So now they are praising his music. Wow, good critical thinking from me.

Regardless of how his reputation was, he was potentially and still was until the day he died, one of the most infamous people to walk the earth. I don't think it would be much of a stretch to say more people know who Michael Jackson was then the opposite.

Three hours of him on the radio friday morning... and when you go through town, every shop blasts out a different song.

I'm getting a TAD sick.

To Nightside, I agree.

And Stephanie, you have such an idealistic view of him, he was great. But you cant sit their and put your hands over your ears when i say the truth. He was NOT normal, he hung his baby over the railings of his balcony, and i've SEEN the tape of him doing that. I find it hard to come up with a reason for that and i find it hard to imagine that he wasnt capable of child molestation if you look at interviews of him.. Plus, the guy was a millionare at the time. I hate to bring up a bit of a conspiracy theory, however its not hard to think where some of that money would have gone... I mean think about it, it would have been benificial for both parties - the girl/boy would have continued their lifes relativly normally without any major impacs on their social life, and they would recieve millions of dollars. As for michael, his career would remain mostly in tact.

I doubt very much he got that much out of album royalties. Managers, producers and labels have ways of screwing people out of all that stuff. The money was sponsorship, ad deals, record company money that dries up as soon as they drop you. It's a cutthroat industry.
