Title: Born The New Messiah Release Date: March 16th Label: Black Tie Productions Format: CD, LP, Digital Download Chart Position: #19 Sales: 60,000+
Born The New Messiah is the first solo album by ex-Hellspawn guitarist, Tom Wheels released in May 2012. The whole lyrics of the album were written by Wheels except track 5 which is taken from the band Blood On The Nile and was written by him, his brother and Mike Wesperth. Tom calls this album as his best studio effort since Hellspawn's debut Last Rites and he put a post-apocalyptic feeling on it. The album was recorded in a very short time, from January to February 2012 without the help of another producer but himself. It was recorded and mixed at Tom's own studios, Helldog, which are in London. BTNM features some interesting and famous guests, Jason Smith, Scott H, Sam Maine, Ethan Plyth and his former band-member (in Blood On The Nile) Mike Wesperth. For the album, Tom changed his thrash metal style for a more agressive but progressive genre, the result is an Extreme Metal Album with a lot of Progressive and Experimental touches with a post-apocalyptic story.

1. Vi Veri Veniversum Vivus Vici
Lenght: 3:29 Genre: Experimental / Extreme Lyrics by: Tom Wheels Music by: Tom Wheels
Vi Veri Veniversum Vivus Vici is an experimental song with lyrics based on the comics: V Vor Vendetta. The title is the latin for a phrase often used in the comics. The song starts off with acoustic guitars and feature a dark feeling. The voices of Tom here have a lot of effects. It's like a desperate man talking with you. After the intro, it begins with a very fast drum double-bass beat which is played for the whole song. It ends with 5 guitar solos and then you can hear the same acoustic guitar melody of the begining.
Lyrics:
No more Batch 5... No more Batch 5...
Strength through unity Unity through fate You will know my hate
By the power of truth, I, while living, have conquered the universe
Strength through purity Purity through fate This is our vengeance full of hate
Release me... No more batch 5! Release me... No coming back!

2. Live A Lie Feat. Jason Smith
Lenght: 4:21 Genre: Metalcore / Progressive Lyrics by: Tom Wheels Music by: Tom Wheels
Live A Lie isn't the best metal song but Jason Smith's voice takes it to a different place. This is another song based on V For Vendetta talking about the dystopian government, Norsefire. The music is a classic mid-tempo metalcore song where Jason is the lead singer and Tom sings the chorous alongisde him. It's a complete metalcore song until 3:11 when it turns into a chaotic progressive song with thousands of different guitar riffs and beats and very similar to Mind's early work.
Lyrics:
I hang my head in sorrow Angered by fate's design This world with no tomorrow Why does it live a lie?
Bound by the laws of madness There which the darkness preys Each of us claim to greatness
Chorus: It fills my life with hope It watches over me My own decisions flow
Guitar solo: Tom Guitar solo: Steve
The promise always broken Assurances insane The book is never written The road is never tamed
You live a lie so faded Rebuilding facts at dawn You bet your soul so jaded We use our will so strong
Guitar solo: Tom
Chorus: It fills my life with hope It watches over me My own decisions flow Edited by user 17 March 2012 07:36:05(UTC)

3. Born The New Messiah
Lenght: 4:17 Genre: Extreme / Thrash Lyrics by: Tom Wheels Music by: Tom Wheels
Born The New Messiah is the title-song of the album. A very fast thrash metal effort which is very similar to Hellspawn's style. Here Tom changed the story from V For Vendetta to what humans have done to our own world: Pollution, nuclear disasters and the born of a new messiah who will save us but punish us too, because of what we've done. Musically the song features one of the best guitar solos of the last years and a crushing heavy rhythm.
Lyrics:
Look what you've done to your world Do you think you deserve all the freedom you have? Watching the future unfold Humans fall and you dream of the freedom you had
Look what you've done to your world Do you think that you're competent even to take care of it? Do you think you can survive on this earth? Live the way you do...Look what you've done
Look what you've done now with all of your freedom You really think you deserve it all? I am evolved from you, I've come to save you And without a sentiment, reshape your world
Guitar solo: Tom
Chorus: Eternal, unceasing, perpetual professing Never confused, overconfident or scared Living at last, new messiah is born
Look what you've done to your world Do you think you deserve all the freedom you have? The freedom you have...
Look what you’ve done to your world with all of your freedom, You’ve destroyed it all, there’s nothing left
Chorus: Eternal, unceasing, perpetual professing Never confused, overconfident or scared Living at last, new messiah is born

4. Forget Feat. Scott H
Lenght: 4:48 Genre: Thrash / Extreme Lyrics by: Tom Wheels Music by: Tom Wheels
Forget...another chance to hear the awesome Scott H in an extreme metal style. A song that will make think you in Blood Of Wecz but with more Thrash influences. The lyrics aren't very clear...we only know they're aren't based on VFV. It tells the story of somebody who is released, who now is free from something. Musically this is one of the fatest songs on the album and is the one without a clear influence from Progressive, this is pure heavy metal.
Lyrics:
We invoke the triad strain Summoning your end The signal to transcend Sight of order we regress Thrills of chaos reign Sentient loss unveiled
Chorus: Forget your destiny Replace deficiency Passion with such energy Cleansing poison Modern vision Of virtuosity
Forget what you are Flesh of holy nothingness A prisoner of your god no more Distilled, infectious reckoning Ravenous minds abound The future of mankind
Guitar solo: Steve
Chorus: Forget your destiny Replace complacency Power with such energy Cleansing poison Modern vision Of virtuosity
Forget what you are Replace your mind A prisoner of your own no more
Forget... Forget... But never forgive Forget... Forget... But never rest in peace
Forget, forget, forget But never forgive! Forget, forget, forget But never rest in peace! |

5. Absolution Feat. Mike Wesperth
Lenght: 5:17 Genre: Extreme / Progressive Lyrics by: Tom Wheels, Jason Wheels and Mike Wesperth Music by: Tom Wheels, Jason Wheels and Mike Wesperth
Absolution is a very heavy and dark song. The music for the song was written by Mike, Jason and me and it’s highly influenced by extreme metal but it’s a mid-tempo song, it has a very black metal feeling because of the backup screams and the very heavy guitar riffs. It has also a lot of sudden rhythm changes, courtesy of Mike. The lyrics were written by me and I finished them in one day. It features a wide variety of sounds and we put a piano segment there, played by Mike.
Lyrics:
False prophets lead us to a world of mass destruction Make us believe their lies of absolution But now we rise, rise up from destitution We won't surrender, we shall never fall
The Killing Season has begun...
Fake Heroes, false leaders Predicating fate in devastation Fake Priests, false prophets Predicating lies of absolution
Fake faith inspired by endless lies Sins washed by their evil hands Holy sacrifice, we’re blind Shattering our minds...
Guitar Solo: Tom
Pre-chorus: The time has come, Rise up from destitution We won't surrender, Fight the persecutors The time has come, Rise up from destitution We won't forgive, Kill the persecutors
Chorus: No more minds desecration We have risen from damnation We have freed our destination They have known devastation
Guitar Solo: Mike Guitar Solo: Tom
We will stand tall defiantly, never fall We will fight tirelessly, never fall We won’t feel agony, never fall We will free our destiny, never fall
Eyes have seen...Seen the darkness Hearts have feel...Feel the sadness We have seen...Seen the darkness We have feel...Feel the sadness
Pre-chorus: The time has come, Rise up from destitution We won't surrender, Fight the persecutors The time has come, Rise up from destitution We won't forgive, Kill the persecutors
Chorus: No more minds desecration We have risen from damnation We have freed our destination They have known devastation Edited by user 17 March 2012 07:49:46(UTC)

6. The Dreamer Feat. Ethan Plyth
Lenght: 5:11 Genre: Progressive Lyrics by: Tom Wheels Music by: Tom Wheels
The Dreamer. With Plyth's voice, Tom knew he couldn't write an extreme song because he fits with a more progressive style. The song starts off with an awesome piano melody which is incredibly catchy (the piano is played by Plyth) and then Steve begins to play the exact same melody on his guitar. It tells the story of a man who commited suicide to escape the end, he thinks dreams are his escape...He couldn't resist the Apocalypse and killed himself to dream forever. This is the only song on the album which hasn't a guitar solo.
Lyrics:
As he faces the end, dreams are his escape. He won’t see reality, no more. He took his own life, to escape. Now trapped in a nightmare Purgatory of souls, he has to stay Forever here...
His has to wake up The dreamer just on time To save him from drowning In the never ending dark
The dream is over, The feeling’s gone And I’m still here in pain.
As he lays on eternity, dreams are his home. He protects the dreamer from falling on. His life’s been taken away. Trapped in a nightmare Now he’s condemned to stay Forever here...
I saved your life Now once again The night is over, again...
Memories and fears, Secrets unrevealed, All merged in one mind.
Now there’s no turning back. Forever they will pray This nightmare to stop
No, I won’t let them go! |

7. As My Life Ends Feat. Mike Wesperth
Lenght: 6:39 Genre: Extreme Lyrics by: Tom Wheels Music by: Tom Wheels
As My Life Ends is very dark and heavy in a Death / Black Metal style it has mid-tempo and very fast parts plus a lot of different riffs. In the middle of it, a violin melody can be heard accompanied by a Piano, both played by Mike Wesperth. The lyrics tell the story of a man that realize he's dying and feels trapped in life and implores for someone to save him. It's a very post-apocalyptic feeling. This song was released as the first single from the album and peaked at #10 in the Digital Downloads chart achieving a gold status for exceeding the 500,000 sales.
Lyrics:
Closed in a shell Thin line of my hell Cannot find my way Cannot find my faith Starless, Bible Black All is said and done Nothing said is new Nothing said is true Nothing without you
Chorus: As my life ends I know the pain As my life ends I know the shame
From purity and from light With rapture and delight From purity and from light I can show you a start of life
Cover me with your arms Beauty now has endless time Babies lift up to the sky Can you share with me your life?
Take me under your wings. Find me a place in your little world. Take a care of me. If you're not afraid what you see.
You can make a dream so real You can go through the hell As you breathing beside me You can hear the nature sing You can take what life brings You can go outside your shell As you breathing beside me
Guitar solo: Tom
I can go through the sky I can believe that I'll not die I can make infidels cry As you breathing beside me I can win every war I can carry the weight of words I can create for us a new world As you breathing beside me
Chorus: As my life ends I know the pain As my life ends I know the shame
Darkness falling Gates are closing Feelings and heart Are handicapped All what's around me All who I see The gathering of brainless being It's so simple to defeat When there’s nothing more to see I couldn’t find A way outside Help me tame My chaotic mind |

8. Holy Sacrifice Feat. Sam Maine
Lenght: 6:39 Genre: Extreme Lyrics by: Tom Wheels Music by: Tom Wheels & Steve Rosenfield
Holy Sacrifice, the wildest song. With a very-powerful vocalist like Sam Maine, you have to write an extreme song. Maine makes one of his best collaborations ever proving why he's one the best. Despite being an Extreme Metal song, it's one of the catchiest on the album because of it's chorous. The lyrics aren't very post-apocalyptic like the other tracks but they're still dark and powerful. Steve Ronsenfield wrote all the guitar riffs and solos of the song.
Lyrics:
Barefoot walking Victim is guided Towards his death His blood spilling over The tribe gathered Round in a circle Victims are offered To feed their god
White man Enemy intruder Claims to be lost In dead zone for hours
Unnamed deserts Lost in time Where thousands bodies lay
He's escorted By two shadows Blood painted guardians To the sacred sacrifice The holy sacrifice
Guitar solo: Tom Guitar solo: Steve
Chorus: Oh, god almighty We come to ask for your blessings The heat and the light Giving this beast in return Oh, god almighty Accept this offering Deliver us from the pain
We'll defeat all our rivals In battle may fight in your name Our soul we offer in sacrifice
Chorus: Oh, god almighty We come to ask for your blessings The heat and the light Giving this beast in return Oh, god almighty Accept this offering Deliver us from the pain |

9. Where Is Your God Now?
Lenght: 7:24 Genre: Heavy / Progressive / Epic Lyrics by: Tom Wheels Music by: Tom Wheels
Where Is Your God Now? is the anthem of the album, the hymn...The magnificent work. Back to the post-apocalyptic feeling, this song makes you think: Where is god when you need him? It's a really controversial song but Tom said it's just a post-apocalyptic story. This is the largest song on the album and contains a lof of Epic elements on it. A lot of different beats and rhythms...It goes from Extreme Double-Bass beat to a slow rythm with just a drum march and a guitar duo that reminds of Iron Maiden classics. The songs ends in a really fast and heavy tempo but then you hear some sound of wind that marks the end of the album. WIYGN? can be called the second and last part of The Dreamer saga because of he first verses.
Lyrics:
Now the end shall be As you once have dreamed Endless novel shall end today Even though you no longer live...
You're at the gates, you're on the edge I've seen them falling back to nowhere You're off the rail, out of your head And you will wish you'd never seen it all
God gave his word just to let us down Where is he now?
Guitar solo: Tom
Chorous: Where is your god now? A silent pray to the sky Where is your god now? A silent scream of desolation Where is your god now? The end of all creation
You’ve been facing heaven You were lost to left alone You re welcome to my home and Found another heaven It was you who took my hand Come into my promised land
Guitar solo: Steve
Chorous: Where is your god now? A silent pray to the sky Where is your god now? A silent scream of desolation Where is your god now? The end of all creation
But where is he now?
As you face the end, You realize he will never come To save you As you lives the end, You ask where he is now To help you
Guitar duo: Tom & Steve
Chorous: Where is your god now? A silent pray to the sky Where is your god now? A silent scream of desolation Where is your god now? The end of all creation
You prayed for years You had the hope You had the faith But in the end, You’re just alone Edited by user 17 March 2012 08:20:17(UTC)
