my band has written 10 songs; enough for an album, but i want to release a single first, since my popularity is still low.
all 10 songs are rated 95+.

do you always want the first song on the single to have the highest rating?
is it stupid to use high rated songs on the b-side?
can releasing too many singles hurt album sales later?

Release whichever singles you want, don't worry about the rating if they're all relatively high. I would release a couple singles first, then one after the album. But it's really up to you. |

this order:
Single (write some extra songs you cant get on the album as B-Sides)
ALBUM
Single (do the same, maybe an acoustic version or Dance remix of this song)
Single (do some demos of new songs)
then...work on the next album after touring n practice n stuff! |

It's not dumb to have high rated songs to be b-sides. It helps the single's rating rise. |

My order this time is:
Single with one album track and two b-sides that didn't make the album.
Album
Single but used as a bonus disc from the album with one other song that didn't make the album and two live songs.
Single again
Single again
and eventually, Another album :P
