DJ Cloud On New Shantel Stiletto Song:"I Told Her It Was A Bad Idea"

Yesterday struggling rap artist Shantel Stiletto tested waters with her new single Y.O.L.O (You Only Live Once) which features production from the house DJ who enjoys most of his time with business partner and friend, Cinzia Ricci. The single has gotten praised for its production number but a high percentage of negative reviews, mostly from hip hop fans, some calling Shantel a sellout, and desperate for a hit and the track, terrible. One fan even went to say (via twitter) "Shantel, wtf is this shit? Is this what you have to do to get some recognition nowadays?!!"

DJ Cloud weighed in today:

Quote:
I told her it was a bad idea. I mean, when your gone for sometime and your fans are expecting something totally different, and you give them the opposite, they might just backlash. She's incredibly talented and optimistic about her work and knows what she wants she wants to gain a different audience of fans and there's absolutely nothing wrong with that, but I'm hoping the track can pick up some steam on mainstream markets and work for the better, because I think its a great track and not everyone can pull off these tracks, no matter how easy it may look, and I think Shantel did a great job.

Let's hope so also, this might be Shantel's very LAST CHANCE!! Y.O.L.O featuring DJ Cloud hits Digital Outlets today, Shantel fans, pray!!!!

Check it out for yourself below, think its terrible also?

Weekend celebrate first No.1 single......then get dropped from label

New boy band on the scene, Weekend, celebrated last night as their second single; 'Smile About It' topped the charts after jumping up 10 places from No.11. The song was written by the group's youngest member, Dustyn Blue.

Despite 3 of them being under the legal age to drink, we are sure that they enjoyed themselves last night as they earned their first chart topper and their debut single; 'Everything About You' remains in the Top 20 after many weeks. So with no drink how did they celebrate?.....We're guessing with a lot of Tango and some Fairy Cakes.

Things were starting to look up for the group as the past few days have been rocky. First, Billy was forced to quit smoking or face being removed from the group, then Riley & Oscar had a fallout as we printed the story which saw Eilidh & Riley get close together and end up in a hotel together whilst Oscar sat alone waiting for his girlfriend (no we won't go into it more as we may get sued...) and little Dustyn discovered that he has very very mild Asperger's syndrome. However things started to get better as they topped the charts and are also waiting to see how their debut album; 'Fired Up' sells this week after being released on Saturday.

BUT....their label Angel Music Records closed it's doors not even 24 hours after hearing about their chart victory, leaving them without a label. Will they ever catch a break?

Alex: To me, it doesn't sound any different to any other pop song around at the moment. So, in my eyes.. yes, its terrible.

Josh: Little harsh, Alex. People shouldn't pay attention to what the media and some haters think of their music, if its the direction they are happy with and is truly them, why change for anyone?

ElectroDeath is working with DJ Cloud

UserPostedImage

It’s already known that ElectroDeath will be releasing their upcoming yet untitled fifth studio album in May 5th. But up until now only three producers were revealed to be working with the girls in this album, they are mISTER_b, who came from the underground scene this year to sign a deal with E-Records to start out his career as a producer and the multi-platinum duo Buzz & Hype, who had previously worked with ElectroDeath on their last album ‘The Sun Will Rise’.

Since ElectroDeath signed a deal with E-Record and even invested some million dollars on the label to become what we used to call nowadays ‘co-owners’ (actually they’re not co-owners, they do have participation over the label profits due to their generous donation to help the movement and so their signing on the label) and their partnership with other label mates such as Cinzia Ricci and DJ Cloud, it is obviously that the girls are being produced by the famous and highly requested DJ (Cinzia’s so called best friend, we think they’re more than that, but let’s say they’re friends LOL).

Recently E-Records revealed the first promotional single from this album, which will be officially released next April 15th. The song entitle ‘Holy Annihilation’ was produced by Mister_b, and seems to be very different from the last songs released by the band.

Can we expect some songs about Julia? So far neither Magie nor Lilly said anything about what happened among them the time Julia left the band. Maybe because they didn’t give any interviews so far, but once we all know that Magie’s lyrics are reflections of her life (if you were living on Alaska and you didn’t know about that, just check their last album The Sun Will Rise), I’m sure we can expect a feedback to all the songs written by the brunette on her album. Or do you really think that Julia’s lyrical themes are from her past relationships? We know stuffs people; believe on us, one thing musicians can do best is write songs for people they once had issues, and we all know that something really bad happened among them, we all agree that the stupid story told by Julia that she no longer could write electronic songs makes no sense, once she’s one of the best writers in industry nowadays.

The main fact is that now, ElectroDeath teamed up with a strong army in this new label to increase the reputation of the electronic music around the world, I’m sure we can expect a massive promotion over their new album.

Steve Rosenfield Angry with Label

UserPostedImage

American metaller Steve Rosenfield, most-known as guitarist and co-producer of the Tom Wheels Band, says that Black Tie Productions: "Aren't doing anything for the band. Tom told me he never received any money from the label to release the album. That's something strange! Tom says it's a good label and he wants to stay but I have to say this. They aren't doing ANYTHING for us! No promotion, no production, nothing! Tom released a great album without any support from the label."

Dave Moreno: 'Labels are shit'

UserPostedImage

In his latest interview for the Costa Rica Metal Mag, HERO(IN) founder and bassist, Dave Moreno said that he hates the industry and that labels are pure shit. He also confirmed that the other members of the band wanted to sign a contract but now they're working with their own label (Fuck The Alternative). The band have sold more than 1,400,000 copies with their first releases (one single and one EP), becoming one of the most-important new metal acts world wide. With collaboration of Steve Rosenfield, they're working on their debut album and have just released their second single Unconstitutional, he also assures they had a millionaire offer and he refused to sign the contract.

We, Culture Uncut, think...He's telling lies! He never had a millonaire offer!

Billy: Labels are shit!? Sorry but I have to disagree on that. If it wasn't for labels then most artists out now would still be working tirelessly to get noticed whilst doing part time shifts in McDonalds. Labels have changed lives, not trying to sound preachy or anything but it's true.

Dave: Mmm...fuck YOU man! The idiots from Culture Uncut wrote this, not me! I said that mainstream labels are pure shit, they only want to win money, they don't want to support the artists! I fucking love indie labels, just like mine. Indie labels support you, they doesn't give a fuck if you sell 1,000,000 or 3,000 copies!
