MISSION STATEMENT

Imitation of Life is an Indie Record Label which aims to bring forth music to the masses in the most efficient ways possible, including Digital and Vinyl releases. Imitation of Life also doubles as an indie Film Production Company, meant to help up and coming actors and actresses get a few films under their belts.

Imitation of Life are also avid followers of the DIY-Ethic pioneered by punk band Fugazi. Most tours will be around $5-10 and merchandise is encouraged to be created by fans. These rules are unavoidable.

Gia: Such strict rules for such a free environment. I tell you, if I were an artist signed to a major label, I'd definitely leave to come here, no sarcasm at all..

Winston: Well, I wouldn't expect a sophisticated plastic princess such as yourself to understand the D.I.Y. ethics, but Imitation of Life is utilizing this ruleset in an attempt to tap into the more dedicated fan-bases across the world. We seek to Produce, Release and Distribute our own music and utilize the internet and word of mouth services to spread awareness in an attempt to distance ourselves from the disgusting marketing process that you yourself should be all too familiar with.

Last but not least, Freedom in Performance, not Freedom in Commercialization is a philosophy we whole-heartedly stand-by.

Scott R.H: 1. Call my wife a plastic princess again and you will be defecating that God-awful beard for the next few months.
2. Given how iron-fisted your rules are, wouldn't "Imposition On Life" have been a better label name?
As I said before, artists on my label have some of the best freedom around. No rules, nothing. They can record what they like, release what they like, and even have merchandise made...wow! Your suggestion that "the most dedicated fans in the world" are people who can only afford $5 for a show and have to Sharpie their own shirts is also bloody mental. Or can they not afford Sharpies either. Should I have said "generic supermarket felt tip pen"? Your ideals are all over the place man. Quit trying to be a hero and relax.

Winston: Also, "Artists on my label have some of the best freedom around." Your freedom is totally better Morrissey, I'm sorry to have slighted you and the Smiths (that was your band right?).

In all seriousness, I still don't understand why two giant label owners, who spend their weekends in Thailand profiteering off of child tears, are wasting their time with a label that won't be much competition to them. Is it because you want me to be part of your sell-out trio?

Scott R.H: Well done...you managed to hit copy and paste on an image. It doesn't get much wittier than that huh? I applaud you man...obviously you are at the pinnacle of your social standing...
I still don't get the Morrisey thing. Where did he start allowing bands to fund their album releases? And where do we profiteer off anyone in Thailand? Ramblings of a madman is it? Two self-made millionaires who now happen to be able to do a bit for the industry and run labels. We're hardly running sweatshops are we? We do not want you to be part of any power trio. In fact, I'm not sure I even knew who you were until you stuck your nose into a conversation that had little to do with you. But don't worry, I'm used to people trying to grasp the coat-tails of my fame. That is fame that was well earned, deserved and grafted for.
Now sit down and shut up. Pleb.

Coat-tails of your fame? Riding the coat-tails of a burn-out just hurts everyone involved, and aren't you the guy whose trying to emulate Enter Shikari now. At least I can keep my private conversations private and move away from Twitter when I need to Mr. "WAH I HAVE A CHILD AND A NICE LIFE BUT I'M STILL NOT PLEASED!" Also sticking my nose into a conversation on my own label's website is fucking brilliant. Also, I managed to hit copy and paste on an image, I need to keep my real wittiness up for classier company, so I'll leave you with this:

"U mad bro?"

Our first true signing is taking place currently with the final details of a deal between Imitation of Life and up-and-coming starlet Destiny ironing out.

Winston Marsh, Owner of Imitation of Life wrote:
"It's with great pleasure that I say that we're bringing Destiny into the small, four person family that is Imitation of Life. I'm scared that we might rub off on her.

OOC: No offense to anyone, but I've claimed "Ciara" since 2009 and have updated my claims, so Strike may not use "Ciara" as her face claim because I still have her claimed. Thanks!.

Gia: Plastic princess? Nothing about me or on me is even close to plastic. So far all you've sounded like is some bitter, wannabe musician who is mad at all the rich and wealthy people in the world because you can barely buy yourself a decent pair of trimmers for that bad imitation of facial hair on you. Oh look, so far the only artist on your label is what, your own band? Way to go, you're really appealing to the fans of music.

OOC: Gah, I keep forgetting to put my artist's name in front of the comments.

Winston: Says the weave-wizard herself. Don't you have a husband to cry to?
