You are lucky. Luckier than a 4-leaf clover. I envy you, wait, are you in a band?

Nope, not in a band. I was just front and centre at a Black Dahlia concert tonight, screaming along to Everything Went Black and Mr Strnad spied me, grabbed me by the face and let me join in with his singing into the mic. awesome haha

HAHAHAHAHAHA.

Sorry, not laughing at you, laughing at Apple.

I phoned them up. They did say I should consult their geniuses at my local Apple store. I pointed out that I was not travelling 100 miles to my local Apple store. So at the moment I'm left contemplating: send off for repairs, which judging by the problem (the thing is clicking. It sounds like the hard drive is rogered.) will mean a replacement. Which they quoted me at £95. A replacement would be £180 so that's not an option. Or alternatively I might say to hell with it for the short-term and get a much smaller device, just something so I can at least listen to my podcasts and have a few albums on there. I haven't quite decided yet. I guess I'll look at prices for 10-20GB devices.

Yeah, I wouldn't mind a bigger device, since I intend to be doing some real heavy travelling later in the year, but at the moment I make do with a 32GB SD card on my phone. Not everything is on there, but most of the stuff I would listen to is.

This year I hope to spend a bunch of time ripping the rest of my collection into V0 VBR MP3, which is pretty much the last time I intend to rip that stuff, unless in some future where there's no storage limits, and hopefully an automated process involved, I might maybe consider a lossless format.

Watching an old Pixie Lott UStream video on YouTube and finding it creepy how she is talking about Celebrity Big Brother, a new album and One Direction. Michelle Green is on CBB, I'm working on her new album and she is dating Riley from Weekend [Liam from One Direction].

I'm seriously contemplating applying for an apprenticeship with Network Rail right now. There seems to be 5 areas of speciality here, & Telecoms Maintenance Engineering sounds really interesting, plus useful in a future sense. An actual career potentially.

None of you know this guy...but this Twitter feed is well worth a look for a laugh. These are genuine utterings from a guy who sits about 5 feet from me in my news room every day. Hilarious clicky

If any of ya liked "It Gets Better" the video or are generally supportive of the LGBT movement, this game is pretty amazing.

havent been to the beach in over a year, even then it involved a trip to naples. miami's beaches are coarse and grey. the west coast of florida has smooth white sand.its worth the trip to the west coast.

going to bbq when i get off work.

So lucky. I haven't been to the beach since 2005. Definitely need to pay one a visit soon.

I live right next to a beach atm.

Unfortunately it's a kind of rubbish beach with lots more pebbles & smelly seaweed than sand. But it's still a bonnie spot to go sit & read a book for a while.

Wow, that's a pretty long time. The beach is so relaxing and therapeutic, you try giving it a go :)

My mother has gone to Chile for 2 weeks to visit my sister who is out in Santiago for a year teaching English to school kids. So I'm in charge of cooking, well most of the time. Day 1, last night, the old man did a tomato soup out of a can, I envy him for getting in there straight away. Day 2 though, I stepped up to the (hot) plate & it could have gone better.

Decided to do a vegetable curry. Got the tatties, carrots, onions, spices all sorted, into the pan, staring cooking it. Clearly didn't do it properly because I had far too much water left over, my portion was closer in consistency to soup than curry. Then as that was just ready I suddenly remembered "hey, I'd forgotten to put the rice on. Shit." So the veg was a tad over done. And the portions were too big & still had rice left over.

In the past couple of months I've started to enjoy cooking a bit, but I hate the pressure of knowing someone else has to eat it. Still, it was edible which is all that really matters.

I've been trying to do more cooking recently, but usually Bindiya takes over the kitchen so I don't normally get much chance except on my days off.
