After the Show At the end of the season premiere of Star Factory and after meeting with her mentor, Aubrey slips away, heading off backstage when she was suddenly stopped by an interviewer who had stepped in front of her, cutting her off. The woman looked to be in her late 20s and was wearing a white long sleeved shirt, which was a little low-cut in the front, tucked inside a short black skirt, fitted to her curves. "Hello, Aubrey. I'd like to interview you about tonight's show. What do you say?" Smiling eagerly, she waits for her response. Aubrey thinks to herself, You want to know what I think huh? I think you need to move the hell outta my way. Who do you think you are? Rolling up on a girl like that." She manages to smile slightly before responding with a nicer response. "Whatever, I don't care. Just hurry up." The woman smiles even more and turns to motion her cameraman over to where they are. Once he arrives, she looks back at Aubrey, holing her mic up as she begins asking her questions. "So Aubrey, how did you feel about your performance tonight? Were you happy with the amount of bids you got and what was your reason for choosing Michelle Green over Hayden?..."While she continued rambling on with more questions, Aubrey stood there looking annoyed. The cameraman, getting annoyed as well, clears his throat to remind her of her rambling."Oops. Give us your response." She holds the mic out but Aubrey grabs it from her. Not knowing what to do, the woman just stands there, going along with it.
Quote:Aubrey: I think that my performance tonight was superb. My musicians, background singers, and everything else was just all on point. The song that I chose to sing was just perfect for me and I actually believe that I sung it better than Deborah Cox did herself. I couldn't have had a better performance if I redid it, it was just that great. As far as the bids go, the bids were okay. I wish I could have gone before those Lashes chicks though because Brittany Knox would of been my top mentor. She certainly has that attitude that I want around me but I will say that that Michelle chick is okay. She seems to have had a successful career so I'm fine with having her associating herself with me for now that is.
The woman smiles and retrieves her mic back form Aubrey as she looks to the camera. "You heard it right here folks. Tune in next Sunday as Aubrey and the rest of the contestants take on the second challenge!" She stands there smiling until the cameraman yells "....And cut." Aubrey goes to walk away but the woman grabs a hold of her, pulling her back. She turns around looking down at the woman's hand on her arm then glaring back at her, hinting her to let go of her arm. She quickly does as she begins to speak again, rambling on and on. Rolling her eyes, Aubrey holds her hand up to the woman's face, silencing her. "Do you ever shut up? You know what, don't answer that. Go Away Now! Oh and by the way, you look fat in that dress." Aubrey storms off towards her dressing room, leaving the woman standing there, confused. Back in her dressing room, she changes before heading out the side door, escaping the mingling, towards her transportation back to her condo. Moments later, she arrives back to her place where she then goes inside, calling it a night as she has an early start tomorrow morning.
Day of the Show The day of the show arrived and people began to arrive, filling up the concert hall hours before the show was to start. Aubrey sat in her dressing room, preparing herself for tonight's show. As she got ready, she thought back to when she had arrived earlier before and had seen some of the contestants running around in panic, as they were nervous about performing tonight. All she could do was laugh to herself and mumble under her breath, "Amateurs" as she kept walking pass them to her dressing room. She never could understand why people worked themselves up so much over stupid things. To her, if you had confidence and knew you had the skills, there's no need to be nervous. That sorta feeling is for people that are weak and have a lack of confidence about themselves. Something she never had experience with because from the start she knew she was the best. The sound of screaming coming down the hall, indicating that the show had started, brought Aubrey back to reality. Looking down at her phone for the time, she realizes time has escaped her. She quickly begin to rush, putting on her outfit before calling over her hair stylist to style up her hair. Once she was done, Aubrey got up from the chair, glancing over her outfit and hair in the mirror. Liking what she saw, she headed out towards the stage, where she would be coming out at, waiting as she looked out to see that Casey Johnson girl on stage performing. Thinking back to the mingling session, she remembered overhearing the southern girl's accent and frowned. Aubrey turned around just in time to see the interview woman from last week, walking over to her. "Aubrey! Just the person I wanted to see." A few stage people shhhh her, as she was being too loud, but she ignored them. "I don't wanna see you b!t@h" Aubrey said to herself through clenched teeth. The woman now stood in front of Aubrey with her usual weird smile. "You look fab girl!" Aubrey rolled her eyes. "I know. What do you want?" The woman laughs a bit too loudly, causing a few heads to turn. Oh, you're just so silly. I love how you get straight to the point. Anyways I wanted to interview you before you went on. I'm doing that for everyone." Just then the cameraman comes up behind her, handing her mic as she continues to talk. Lets get right into things. How do you feel about tonight's show? Will it be another successful show like last week and how did you go about picking the right song? Did you have any difficulty getting it to work for you?... Not wanting to go through a repeat of last week, Aubrey cuts her off, grabbing the mic from her a second time.
Quote:Aubrey: I feel confident about my performance tonight because I know that like always I will do well. I never once doubt myself because there is no need too, I'm just that great. So yes whatever your name is, tonight will be another successful show for me. Getting into the song I chose tonight, I met with Michelle earlier this week and I laid out some possible tracks that I knew would fit me. She helped to narrow down the choices for me and I have to say that chick seems to be very wise. The song she ended up choosing was my top choice so I commend her on that. She's earning points with me and if she's lucky, I might just keep her around once I win this show. In just a few moments I'm going to be singing what I think is one of her best songs and that song is "Only When I'm Smiling." It has a great R&B and Caribbean fill to it, which is what I'm great at, and I have a great voice for it as well.
"Well Aubrey, good luck to you tonight. (looking back at the camera) Aubrey is up next and after her performance make sure to go to Twitter and tell us what you think about her performance" The woman smiles until the cameraman cues her that she is off the air. She relaxes and walks off to catch another contestant for an interview. Glad that she's now gone, Aubrey turns back to look out on stage to get a good look of what's happening. Seeing the host now on stage, getting ready to announce her name next, she looks back calling her people over to head out. After her name is announced, people all throughout the audience begins cheering for her, some chanting her name. The lights dim down and Aubrey is standing in front of the mic stand in the center of the stage with her musicians and backup singers standing behind her, yet no one can see them until red, yellow, orange and blue spotlights shine down on them. Aubrey is wearing a grey spaghetti strap shirt with a laced corset in the front and bluejeans. She is smiling a little as she leans into the mic to speak out to the audience. You ready for some fun? The people begin cheering and Aubrey, liking their responses, yells into the mic Hit it! As on cue, her band begins to play the heavy R&B/Caribbean beat to Michelle Green's "Only When I'm Smiling." Her backup singers immediately start moving to the beat while she looks out to the crowd, looking to see their reactions before getting into the first few parts of the song. You're a great man The best I could've wished for I just don't want to trouble you, that's all You just don't get it, when I'm feeling **** You don't need all that trouble
I'll call you when I'm feeling better And we can chill like we usually do I just don't want to be a burden; when I'm sad, I tend to bring everyone else down
Don't worry, my baby It ain't your fault It's just because I'm always like this When I'm better, I'll give you a callThe chorus approaches and Aubrey takes the mic off of the stand and holds it in her hand. The backup singers help sing the words to the chorus along with Aubrey. As Aubrey sings, she and her backup singers, in sync with one another, move their bodies to the beat with a choreographed dance they had been practicing all week in preparation for the show tonight. I want to see ya, Only when I'm smiling Cos' I don't wanna put you down I want to hold ya, Only when I'm happy, I don't wanna have you worried, running round I just want you to see the best in me Cos' I don't want to bother you when I'm unhappy I just want us to make the most it Wear a smile and go along with it Oh boy, I just want to see ya Only when I'm smilingThe song comes to the second verse and Aubrey moves closer to the people in the crowd as she continues singing. Her backup singers are now standing there, slowly snapping their fingers gracefully to the beat, smiling. Once the chorus comes back around again, they join in singing along with Aubrey and doing the choreographed dance moves once more.Kiss my cheek, And you'll make me feel uplifted Like you always do, must be a gift I just hope you don't mind If I keep my feeling to myself
Don't worry, my baby It ain't your fault It's just because I'm always like this When I'm better, I'll give you a call
I want to see ya, Only when I'm smiling Cos' I don't wanna put you down I want to hold ya, Only when I'm happy, I don't wanna have you worried, running round I just want you to see the best in me Cos' I don't want to bother you when I'm unhappy I just want us to make the most it Wear a smile and go along with it Oh boy, I just want to see ya Only when I'm smilingThe song breaks down into the bridge and the lights dim. The only spotlight seen, is shining down on Aubrey as she sings. Once the bridge is over the song comes back to the chorus. As the backup singers sing, Aubrey says into the mic, "Let me hear you sing it!" Hearing them sing the words, she smiles before going back to help sing the song along with the audience.Oh yeah, I know you wanna look out for me But honey, please! Just let me do this on my own and you'll see; that I will come round in time Please don't think it's you That's making me hide away I just don't want you to see me sad I just want to see you only when I'm smiling
I want to see ya, Only when I'm smiling Cos' I don't wanna put you down I want to hold ya, Only when I'm happy, I don't wanna have you worried, running round I just want you to see the best in me Cos' I don't want to bother you when I'm unhappy I just want us to make the most it Wear a smile and go along with it Oh boy, I just want to see ya Only when I'm smilingAs Aubrey finishes up the chorus, a twenty second instrumental plays and her moves her hips to the beat, smiling and having a good time. Once the song ends, the crowd stands up and cheers as she stands there smiling, taking in all of the praise. Moments later the cheers die down a little and she waits on stage waiting for the judges to deliberate on her performance.Sounds Like:
