“Welcome everybody, I’m here today to give a brief statement regarding recent events at Studio60 Records and take a number of questions from yourselves. As you’ve heard over the past few hours, our Co-Owner Giovanni Rose will no longer be part of Studio60 records. Firstly we would like to thank her for the hard work that she has put in at the label which has no doubt been one of the primary reasons for the recent success that we’ve had, we’d also like to wish her the best of luck in whatever she chooses to do in the future.

As for the near future of the label, there is still some things that will need to be worked out, but over the following weeks and months we will be planning a rebuilding process at the label. We feel that the time is right for us to look at taking the label onto the next level and we’re looking at a number of options right now. I would like to express my thanks to the artists currently signed and hope that they can continue to grow at the label and trust our instincts during what will be a transitional period. We will continue to work hard and keep the label running smoothly during this rebuilding process and we’re looking forward to an even brighter future ahead. I will now take a number of brief questions from the reporters assembled”

Can you tell us any more information regarding Gia’s sudden departure from the record label?
Greg: I’m afraid not. The explanations regarding Giovanni Rose’s departure from the label is something that is entirely her business and if she feels like publicly announcing her reasons for leaving then that’s her prerogative. We spoke at length regarding her future at the label and the reasons for her departure are entirely private at this time.

There still appears to be a lot of unanswered questions with this announcement coming as quite a surprise to many, was she fired from the label or did she leave of her own accord?
Greg: It was a resignation from her role, entirely her decision to leave the label and we accepted her resignation and wish her the best of success in whatever she chooses to do in the future. Her decisions to leave are entirely understandable and we’ve worked together to get what we consider to be a mutual understanding, reports that you may read I’m sure won’t all be entirely reliable. We have huge respect for one another and I personally cannot thank her enough for the work that she has put into the label over her time here.

What was the working relationship between yourself and Gia Rose like?
Greg: She did all of the work and I took all of the credit

This announcement puts a lot of questions in the air, particularly for the artists currently signed to the label, many of whom were signed by Gia herself, what are the plans for the artists on the label?
Greg: We will be looking to keep everything running along at the label with as much normality as possible, there’s still a lot of decisions that will be made over the coming weeks and months ahead but the acts signed to the label will continue to have the full backing of the label.

As you mentioned in your statement, the label is now going to begin a new rebuilding process. How long will it take for these changes to take place?
Greg: We will continue to run the label as we believe it should be and won’t be planning on rushing into any decisions, we will look at a number of options that come our way and we will hopefully have everything cleared up and in what I consider to be working shape within the next few weeks.

And what effect will these changes have on the future of your artists?
Greg: I’d imagine it would have a positive effect on the future of our artists as we plan on building on what we’ve already created here at the label. Providing they are willing to stick with us and are on board then I don’t see any negativity from the changes that will come in the near future. I think that we have an incredible roster of talent on this label and we hope to add to continue to add to that.

Some say that Gia’s style actually made it difficult for your label but it can’t be denied that she was the main reason for the labels success, how big do you think a gap that her absence will leave?
Greg: There have been issue’s that we’ve had to go through and work on because she’s a strong minded woman which is exactly the reason why I hired her. We’re all aware of the debacle regarding her relationship with several acts that have been signed to the label but I agreed to give her almost complete freedom at the label providing she does a good job here and she’s done an incredible job at the label. There will be a gap with her absence from the label but we are completely confident of continuing our good work.

Do you have any replacements for the role of Co-Owner which has now become vacant after Gia’s absence?
Greg: That is something that I’m looking at, I feel that there is a ready-made replacement at the label but following recent events that person will be taking a short absence from the label until we’ve considered the situation fully. We will be looking at possible additions to our staff here at Studio60 Records, but whether we hire someone in the role vacated by Gia or not will remain to be seen.

Her relationship with a number of artists within the industry was often frayed, in particular her relationship with Ryan Ross Hernandez which had recently run into difficulties, he even questioned his future at the label recently, does he have a future still at the label?
Greg: His future is entirely in his hands. If he feels that he’d be better suited to another label then we wouldn’t stand in his way but I definitely would like for Mr. Hernandez to remain at the label, I feel that we have an understanding that works well, his artistic vision is trusted fully by ourselves at the label and we’re willing to financially support any endeavours that he believes in. He was the first artist that I spoke to about signing to the label and there’s a reason for that, I believe that a large portion of this labels growth in the beginning is down to Mr. Hernandez trusting our ideas as an up and coming record label. I’ve got huge admiration for the work that he has created at the label and hope that it will continue at this label.

So it would appear that you’ll be taking a more hands-on approach at the label over the coming weeks to fill the void left by Gia, what are your initial plans?
Greg: I’ll be at the office on a day to day basis, I’ve spent the majority of the past year to spend more time with my family, I’ve always been available to be contacted by anybody at the label but now I’ll be at the headquarters on a daily basis to work alongside the staff and also the acts that we have at the label, there’s a lot of work that will need to be done over the next few weeks but it’s something that I’m looking forward to working on.

So it would appear that you’ll be looking to rebuild Studio60 in this period, will new acts be signed or will you be looking to clear the roster over the coming weeks?
Greg: We’re always looking to expand the roster and it’s important for us to do that to remain competitive, however at this moment in time it is more important for us to put focus on the acts currently at the label. There’s a few contracts and other issues that need to be addressed with some of our current acts and we’ll be planning on addressing those issues.

*The press associate signals that no more questions will be asked and the Greg thanks the reporters for their questions before leaving the conference room.”
