THE DEVIL YOU KNOW The Devil You Know, I know what kind of band you guys are and believe me I want to say that it is an honor that guys did a cover of one of my songs because I know what you guys stand for and I believe in your message as a band. I honestly feel like you guys captured the song's lyrics with your voice very well and while it was hard for you guys to transition at times, you guys did pretty well. In Love alone is a song about feeling empty and alone in a relationship. The end was very (Steph hesitates and winks at the guys) well let's say......fierce (Steph giggles). I don't know if you guys have ever been to one of my shows but 'THAT'S' how we end a f*cking depressing song!
(Steph gives the boys a standing ovation).
AUBREY MIKKEL Wow. First of all I love your confidence! Miss attitude thing! Girl, you have diva written all over you and I can't help but laugh. But you know what, I truly respect it,That's the type of attitude I want to see, especially someone with your sort of vocal range. But moving on, Hunter (Bring on the Acid Rain) is a song about desperate search of your lover. I wrote the song after a bad break-up and that's the main reason there is so much soul into it because it's something that I was truly experiencing at the moment and once again you were able to capture that as well. I loved how how you handled yourself on stage, I loved the facial expression, even though at times I felt like you were hungry for some fries or something (the audience laughs), but I truly respect it. It shows that that you truly wanted it and HEY, you were truly in character like the hunter in the song. So good job!
(Steph gives the young lady a standing ovation)
CASEY JOHNSON Truly beautiful. First of all, I must say that I think your voice is very unique. I don't think I've quite heard a voice like yours in a long time. That's a good thing. I can truly see why you were #1 last week and I loved your choice of song. "As it End" is a song about looking back at the career of a successful pop star and not being satisfied. It's something I wrote in character, it wasn't intentional or anything. But like the original, I really felt like you put your own emotion into the song and made it yours. One of my favorite performance of the night thus far. I really wish you luck and success.
(Steph smiles at Casey and lifts her chin up)
EDWARD BARÁTI love your fashion dude! Nice jeans! I must say I wanted something a little bit more upbeat from you. I think you did ok. I wasn't in love with instrumentation because "Dying In the Airwaves" is not a song that really should contain any sort of drumming in it. But, you made it your own and that's what s important. I think that you also need to work on carrying out your vocals, there were times when I felt you were screaming out the lyrics without you intending to at the beginning. In the end however, you carried yourself pretty well, I think you got more comfortable with the song therefore it boosted your confidence a bit and your notes were flowing perfectly. Overall, I think you did good, but I can tell you were a bit nervous. Wish you luck Mr. BARÁT!
(Steph nods her head and looks at the rest of the judges)
LASHES Ok What the F*CK was that! (Using one hand Steph pushes back the hair that was in her way of view). Ok first of all, all of you were off pitch! I think you all need to work a bit on singing 'LIVE', because to me it doesn't seem like you all have experience on it. I am truly disappointed girls...... I'm sorry. "Love Feels Like Grenades" is a gem from my best selling album, so it only made sense for you guys to cover it, however I think you all should of tried something a bit slower because none of you delivered. AT ALL. I wish you ladies good luck in the competition.
(Steph takes a sip of her soda)
KELI O'DAYYou remind me of my sister so much, and I think you're beautiful girl. Ok...I love your voice! I also think you made the right decision in picking "In Love Alone" because it definitely fits your vocal ability. I also loved that you picked a backing band this week for your performance, because your voice is soooooooo so strong and it gave it that base it so desperately needed. I think you're a star! (Steph brings her hands together) You know, I love how comfortable you feel with the audience, I loved that you picked a song that is a bit slow, but you were able to give it that oomph and that's what makes you a star in my book. Truly wish you luck and success and this competition sweetheart.
(Steph blows her a kiss)
