So, when you release a single, I get how you can find out how many copies it sold, but unless it doesn't make the top 40, can you never know what number it came in at (Eg number 89 etc)
Also, when do the top 40 charts get updated?

The charts get updated 11:30PM (UK Time).
You should be able to find details of sales on the single information page. Go to 'My Singles' then click the title of the single.
Finally, you should be able to find out the position in the charts on the 'Chart Watch' page (but this doesn't reveal sales info)
