Many well known names in the music industry such as Stephanie Fierce, Radio Vine, and others have gave Serenity praise for her music. She recently finished touring with the Weekend boy band, and will be releasing her debut album 'Teenage Era', on 17th August, 2012, through Hot Eye Records. Serenity has been nominated for a Chaos Award for 'Best New Artist'. Many critics said that Scott's fanbase is surging rapidly, and by the beginning of next year, she'll be a worldwide celebrity. Serenity released her debut single Wonderland on 24 May, 2012. The single peaked at #5 on the Digital Charts, before quickly dropping off the charts with a following position at #20, and then #21 soon after. Although the single had fallen off the charts quickly, the song still managed to become certified Gold, selling 604,000 digital copies. Her next 2 singles 'Escape from the Back' and 'Part of Him (Within Me) failed to make an impact on the charts as well. However, 'Part of Him (Within Me) managed to go Gold, selling over 500,000 digital copies. Her recent single has so far started out at a good position, debuting at #9 on the Digital Charts, selling 195,000 downloads in the first week.
Early Life
Serenity was born on 28th September, 1988 in Los Angeles, California, U.S. to Romeo Scott (father) and Victoria Scott (mother). She's their only child. Serenity enjoyed attending school when she was younger, and she often brought home good grades. Because of her high academic performance and being the only child at home, Serenity was often spoiled.
Serenity became interested in music when she was 13. She started performing in her school talent shows and her parents paid for her to get vocal lessons. By the time Serenity was in high school, she began performing at different small venues in her hometown Los Angeles. After she graduated high school, she held her music career priorities back for a while to attend Princeton University, where she studied Business. She finished college and got her Bachelor's degree and decided to begin focusing on her music career again.
Rise In Popularity/Debut Album
While Serenity was performing at The Dirty Bastard Hotel & Casino, where was spotted by Joshua Leto from the 8 Mile Rock band. She was offered a spot as a vocalist in the band, and she accepted. However, after just a few weeks, Serenity decided to pursue a solo career and she released her debut single 'Wonderland', which peaked at #5 on the Digital Chart. The single was released as a promo single at first, but due to the large number of sales, Serenity decided to turn it into the lead single off her upcoming album 'Teenage Era'. Shorty after the single was released, Serenity signed a 2 album deal with Liberation Records, but her contract had gotten transferred over to North Hill Records, a new label founded by Nadia Berry and Ryan Ross Hernandez.
Serenity's popularity continued to soar as she got into Twitter conflicts with the controversial pop singer Suzie. Serenity also have gotten more attention when Nadia Berry took to Twitter to tell Serenity that she was dropped after label owner Scott Rose-Hilton tweeted Serenity saying that she signed with Chaos Records, which Serenity has denied via Twitter.
Scott's debut 'Teenage Era' is has been released on 17th August, 2012. For the promotion of the album, Serenity got on tour with the Weekend boy band on their European Leg. Also, she was on the cover of Blurb Magazine and was interviewed.
