Yeah, i feel the same. It makes it all less pleasant sometimes to visit this forum. Some people just cant get allong with eachother, thats for sure. But thats for them to work that out. Please try to do that and you will feel better. In general to make it all a bit nicer to enter here, we all must change our attitude. Im not here from the beginning when the new forum restarted, but i was here in the old forum, and it seems in my memory, that people were not always nice to eachother, but the roleplay section was a sacred place. ROLEPLAY ONLY. Not always but for 90% maybe. Now this has all changed. It seems. But its never to late to change. One thing is certain however. Closing topics and threads all the time has no future for this forum, i surely feel this way. (look at it how many there are).

PANIC!'s post on the previous page pretty much sums up my thoughts on the whole affair.

Generally, I'd attribute this "rough patch" to being lack of a game, and the Roleplay section being dry because no one wants to bother without a genuine game to back up their work. It's easier for most to wait, it seems.

Aside from that, Roleplay is generally a rather selfish domain in what it is, where people post minimally and not articulately, and only in their friends/labelmates threads as opposed to anyone elses. Everyone's stuck in the same box.

The forum HAS gone through rough patches in the past. In my view, this is just another one, and we as a forum will get through it. The fights WILL taper off and fade away.
As for people leaving because of fights - I pledge allegiance to my board and I'm not going anywhere. Even if I'm the last one standing, no fight will stop me.

I don't ever remember a "rough patch" quite like this one, and i've been here since the original forum. I can think of one easy fix for it, because the whole "okay, let's all be nice and get along" attitude is a silly thing to actually believe in. If there is one thing I have learned in the time I've been around, provocations are usually nothing more than attention grabs. If someone who keeps trying to pick fights long enough has earned enough cold shoulders, perhaps they'll turn around. The usual thing that happens is a damn forum post is taken to heart and bam! another thread down the drain.

Sitting around and trying to "be nice" doesn't work. People are people and they aren't going to change just to get along with someone they don't like. How about ignore the folks you don't like and leave them alone, and they'll leave you alone, too. Simple, isn't it?

There were not lots of arguments, and if you want to leave, fine, go right ahead, but frankly this whole thing is really being blown out of all proportion. We're talking about a petty argument on a tiny forum, it's totally nothing worth getting worked up about. Other than two specific arguments (one of which I diffused weeks ago), I honestly can't think of any others. If you have an argument at school one day, you don't up and leave school. Go have a cool drink, everything is fine, the board isn't suddenly going to be shut down over a couple of folk arguing about fictional bands.

Other mods have mentioned this but we can't stress it enough apparently: This is the Internet. Sometimes people argue. Get over it.

That's not it. He's a mod, which he requested to become because he wanted to improve the forums for all of us. None of you guys can say the forum is worse for the addition of mods.

If you're just going to keep complaining, just start your own forum, get a box of tissues and have a good old cry (or whatever else you may choose to do on your own with a box of tissues, I'm not one to judge...).
