PANIC! wrote:When the Day Meet the Night -- Panic at the Disco (I can't believe P@TD is breaking up....) They're not? Are they? Just Ryan and Jon left. Though it's kinda a nail in the coffin for both. I personally think that Panic was primarily Ryan's songwriting, and Brendon's voice. So it'll be whatever Ryan and Jon do, though I'm not too much of a fan of Ryan's voice and don't think it'll hold well on its own. And in Panic, I reckon Brendon and Spencer will suffer because Ryan's intricate songwriting and style will be missing. Though I did hear it was more Ryan pushing for the sound on Pretty Odd, and a change so dramatic from A Fever... must have meant creative clashes were there. Maybe they were suggested to go back to the "commercial" sound of Fever. |

Maybe they were suggested to go back to the "commercial" sound of Fever. Yeah I messed up that post. But yeah apparently what happen was that Ryan and Jon wanted to continue with the Pretty. Odd. sound and Brendon and Spencer wanted to go back to the Fever sound. Brendon's vocals are the most important part of Panic but Ryan's lyrics on Fever were amazing. If Pete Wentz twitter is any indication of Panic sound they are going back to Fever "back from the dead. heard four songs. sounds more like a natural progression from "fever u cant sweat out"". Personally I'm excited for it since Fever is probably my favorite album ever but I have no idea how lyrics wise the songs will be affected. Ryan's vocals are pretty good not as good as Brendon's though. Nonetheless I will listen to both projects, but I strongly believe Jon and Ryan will regret leaving if Brendon and Spencer go back to the Fever sound since a major part of their fan base enjoyed it more than Pretty Odd. [EDIT] Some new information from P@TD official site and Decaydance "Matthew Murph Murphy and Tord Overlond-Knudsen from The Wombats will fill in for Ryan Ross and Jon Walker respestivly for the Blink 182 tour until a new guitarist and bassist is found." "It is found out that the '!' will be added again to the bands name. Nothing final has been said, but there have been many 'hints' from DecayDance founder, Pete Wentz and (soon-to-be) Panic! at the Disco's body guards twitter account." Well, I'm not going to lie...but I listened to Pretty, Odd all the way through twice when it came out. It's been stagnant in the CD case ever since. |

I was wondering about the replacements in time for the Blink tour, but wow, I didn't even know they'd started on new demos either! If it's back to Fever though, I'm relatively excited, as I preferred that a lot more to Pretty Odd to be fair... Nonetheless, I'll see how Ryan and Jon fare with their new project, but as you said, yeah I reckon they'll start kicking themselves if it doesn't "lift off", which a move back to Fever has a strong chance of doing for Brendon and Spencer. |
