Scott: I have been quite vocal in my defence of Studio since the ridiculous incident where Ryan Ross Hernandez walked out on them. But given the type of character he is, I was never fully surprised, even if I did find it rather undignified and unprofessional. However, to hear of a young band who, let's be honest, owe a hell of a lot to the label who plucked them out of the vast darkness of obscurity and being just another failed high school band, just walking out on their label, is rather horrible.
You guys say that you were never contacted by Studio 60. Let me ask you this as a record label owner myself though; did you ever contact Studio 60? The amount of people who do not realise that business relationships work two ways worries me. How some of you people even manage to walk fully upright is quite simply astounding.
We all know that is just bullshit and excuses though. At the end of the day, you saw RRH and Nadia Berry and the dollar signs were spinning in your eyes. The popular belief right now seems to be that Studio 60 is on the decline, while this new label is raging towards the top. Let's not forget though that North Hill have only just lost their biggest star, and with the wife a major player at Studio 60 once again...I happen to have heard of other big things coming to fruition for that particular label very soon.
I should also point out that I have nothing against either Ryan or Nadia on a personal level. I just believe these underhand tactics are above those which people of our ilk should be operating in.
As for MLC, I gave you lads all the support and positivity you deserved for your early work. But if people know anything about me, they'd tell you there are certain things I do look for in people; these are integrity, honesty, and professionalism. That you have pissed those qualities up against the wall to turn to where the money is and become corporate sell-outs means you're just another bunch of faces in a ridiculous crowd.
