Sam: Vin Peters? Yeah! We're Acts of Hate.
Neil: Does he have vanilla coke for us!??
Sam: Wow, I didn't think you'd actually remember that, but yeah, you sorta did.

The band stand up and happily follow Vin.

Sam: You americans and your beverages, man. I don't want to sound like some idiot fan but....Darkness is a really cool album. It's inspired me to put more melody in our songs.

Vin smiles at the comment and walks into the bus.

Vin: Thanks. And we dont think our fans are idiots even when they kind of lose it around us. I'm glad. Melody is my favorite thing.

The bus is a decently large size and somewhat clean because it's only the second day of the tour. It looks like a mix of an office, a guitar store, and of course a bus. Immediately past the drivers seat there is a table with several laptops and papers lying on it. Beyond that there are two couches with a couple of random things strewn on them. Then past the couches there are guitar cases, a couple of basses lying around. Matt is standing playing an acoustic bass and Hugh Keeley from Mount Olympus is there too playing a guitar. Vin finds a cooler next to the couch and opens it up. There is a six pack of vanilla coke inside. He sets then down on a small table.

Vin: There they are. That's Matt and Hugh back there. Hugh plays piano during our set but he's a guitarist at heart. So how are things opening up the show?

Nick Palmer - Welcome To The Show - Carnival of Sounds Day #2
UserPostedImage
Nick Palmer's set on the second day of Carnival of Sounds was much less eventful than the first day. No one lost their life this time around. Nick once again played a mix of songs from his debut album and new songs suspected to be from his upcoming album. The crowd seemed somewhat pleased with Nick. Towards the front were the true Nick Plmer fans that were singing every word and either dancing or moshing the entire time. About halfway back is when the crowd turned into people who were waiting for the next artist to come onstage. Nick gave pasionate performance as always. A fan captured a video of his intro song "Welcome to the Show". It can be found below.
SETLIST
1. Welcome To The Show (New)
2. Stand up and fight
3. Tell Everybody
4. Existentialism (New)
5. The Mad Scientist
6. Popular Music is Dead
7. Take Me To The World
8. Live Forever (New)
9. New Religion
10. Amnesia
11. Lock The Doors, Kill The lights, and Scream (New)
12. Breakout
13. Setting a Fire

Quote:
Welcome To The Show (Live in Scranton PA)
The video begins with lots of crowd noise. The stage is empty and Nick Palmer hasn't come on yet. Then noise starts and the crowd loses it. It is a simple delayed key synth progression. Soon Nick comes onstage. His hair is long and black rather than the bright red that he once had. He is wearing a black shirt, black pants, and a red tie. His hair is long and it flows as he begins rocking back and forth. He picks up the mic and begins to aggressively rap the first verse as a heavy dance beat kicks in. This continues and then the beat stops and in the background a violin synth picks up before the heavy electronics come back in for the chorus as the bass drops hard in the danceable chorus as Nick screams "Get the fuck off the ground". The beat and keys return plus a stong, steady bass in the next verse. Flanging ambient electronics are all over the place and a light guitar is heard. Then everything goes into heavy electronics again as Nick sings loudly and the crowd goes nuts. Nick works the stage his hair going all over the place with headbanging. Then the bridge comes in and the violin synth and ambience dominates everything as Nick sings personally to fans in the front row. Then it all goes back into the heavy dance electronics and Nick jumps all over the stage throwing the mic all over the place before the song ends.

Lyrics
This isn't pop punk or scene
This is after my new religion
I'm the mad fucking scientist
And I'm the greatest villain
When all the heroes are dead
Yeah they've gone up above
I'll be down here in bed
bed with the girls they love
So welcome to the show
Be warned in your bloodstream
I just want you to know
It's gonna make you scream

So if you dont wake up it is my fault
Let this be your warning its dangerous
drugs, sex, anger, murder and lust

Welcome to the show
Wel-wel-welcome-welcome to my show

This wasnt planned. it's not a sham
This is truly the way it goes
So lock the doors you'll be here forever
My mind is is divine and its judgement day
Blood is in the air
And were were temping chance
But no one will ever care
They're only here to dance
Scream until you bleed
Give into the voices in your head
My attention is all you need
I'll give it to you til you're dead

So lets dream until the nightmares win
When you're always asleep awake is a game
So lets break the rules and forget our names

Welcome to the show
Wel-wel-welcome-welcome to my show

Sell love and put the needle in
Vice is just how we win
I'll tell you where to begin
When you do know its the end
Your life is out of your hands
So drink up and do the demands
Join me in the strange lands
Please come enjoy the show

Welcome to the show
Wel-wel-welcome-welcome to my show

Neil immediately grabs a vanilla coke and drinks it greedily. Sam takes a sip of his.

Sam: It's really cool playing to such big crowds. The biggest venue we've played before this was the Sound Academy at polson pier in Toronto. It was like a mid-sized theater. But these crowds....its like a dream come true.
Kyle: Yeah. We already had a fuckup though. During our set today the toggle switch fell out of my les paul. It just fell out. The plating around it was starting to come off too...I had to cover it with duct tape.
Jeff: thats the mark of a good guitarist....his guitar is covered with duct tape. Bonus if your strap is broken, then you can duct tape that to your guitar too.

Vin sits a vanilla coke. Soon Hugh and Matt come and join them.

Vin: These tours are great. So many artists. You'll get a lot of exposure here

Matt: We can relate with the duct tape bit. When your bass is something you literally found lying on the street you're gonna need duct tape for it at some point

Vin: Do you still have that bass?

Matt: Somewhere. Unless I burnt it. I might have. Dont remember.

Hugh: I think you know your business is rock n roll when your gear breaks and you have to use duct tape because you cant afford new gear.

Sam: Yeah. We can't even afford a motel. We're sleeping in our van.
Jeff: Speaking of that....where's Erin's Silence?
Sam: Yeah. They kind of woke us up last night.
Jeff: By "woke us up" he means they jumped on our windshield and did an irish jig on it before beating the sides of the van with their fists in a display of masculinity.
Neil: THIS FUCKING VANILLA COKE IS AMAZING.

The band stares at Neil.

Sam: Oh. Yeah. The vanilla coke is good.

Matt: Right! Vanilla coke is great. It's coke but with vanilla.

Vin: We sleep on this bus. No hotels on this tour we decided. We've got a spacious bus. Plus if you sleep on the bus then you dont have to go home after the bus party

Hugh: Sleeping in a van thats rough. I know about that. These guys made me take a van seeing as I'm not part of the band.

Matt: Yeah. We've already got five guys in here. Perfect number for a slumber party

Vin: Oh god. Matt dont make it awkward. No one needs to know what happens on our bus once its just the five of us.

Hugh: pillow fight?

Erin's Silence: Carnival of Sounds Tour- Day 2
Scranton, Pennsylvania

UserPostedImage

A little weary from Day 1, E.S. took the stage in Scranton, PA. But, they did it in a way that surprised everyone. The band came out onto the stage as trance remix version of the theme song to the Office played. Kevin danced and talked on the mic intermittently as the rest of the band did their thing tuning and setting up. As the song drew near the end the band was set and right when the remix ended the band jumped straight into the breakdown from their new song "The Temptress". The band varied up their setlist from Day 1 and added another new song to end of it, "The Incest". Before they played the new song, Anthony broke it down a bit and briefly explained what the debut album is going to be about. The song finished with Kevin stage diving into the crowd, Derrick smashing his bass because a string broke on the last note, and John tripping and falling on his drumset. Overall, the band had came, saw, and conquered again, but not without the help of their brothers in arms, Acts of Hate, warming the crowd up first. After they finished the setlist they opened up their tent for fans to have an opportunity to kick back and have a beer with them.

Anthony on the upcoming album

Setlist:
1. The Temptress
2. The Marionette
3. My Darkened Soul
4. Burn Away (Suzie Cover)

7. The Hollow
8. Tonight, You're Sleeping with the Fishes
9. The Whore
10. The Incest

Matt: What's a jews least favorite kind of sex?

Vin: I think I'll just cut you off there Matt.

Matt: How do you find a...

Vin: shower sex. Look on her arm. We get it. Now onto something less... offensive.

Hugh: Sometimes the food stands at shows will give bands free food. That might be less gaseous than taco bell.

Jeff: John, the drummer from erin's silence, he cured them of their offerings of free food. I swear to god he was like a whirlwind of consumption. He literally ate every bit of food they put out for the bands....and maybe some of the cutlery. By the way, I made an offer of $50 earlier to anybody who would drink a thermos full of rancid salad dressing they saw fit to put out for us. It was one of the only condiments john left untouched. Any takers?

Reported Failure - Day #2 in Scranton, PA
UserPostedImage
Billie Beckett during "Chance Run Ins"
On the second day of Carnival of Sounds Reported Failure was ready to rock out hard again. They had a meet n greet at 12:00 at their tent and it was absolutely packed! "The fans are really coming out strong for this tour so far. Its great. We love seeing them and they like seeing us. Meet n greets sometimes are hectic because there are so many people but they're always worth it" says frontman Billie Beckett. Today the band opened with 6771 and from that point it was all systems go. The setlist today consisted of more songs from the band's new album "Darkness" than their setlist on day one did. The first half of their set was mostly new songs. There was also an acoustic break in which the band played acoustic renditions of some of their songs. The effect was that the fans could be heard singing along much more clearly than in the other songs and Billie Beckett seemed to be touched by this more than anything especially when the fans sang along to every word of the more emotional song "Goodbye, My Son". Then Reported Failure got loud again starting things off after the acoustic break with their first top ten hit "Manufactured Radio". Then they played mostly older fan favorite songs but still some new ones. The band closed at first with "I Know You" in which guitarist Vin Peters and singer Billie Beckett both managed to jump in the crowd and create lots of chaos and a moment that fans would never forget. This was the end of their set but they came back and played their hit "Disarm" as an encore.

Setlist
[Part 1]
1. 6771 (Darkness)
2. Crumbling (Darkness)
3. Leader of an Empire that doesnt exist (PGC)
4. A Pattern of Distress (Darkness)
5. Lithium (Darkness)
6. My Name is Freedom (Freedom/William EP)
7. Being Man (Darkness)
[Acoustic break]
8. Fold The Wire (I've Known You)
9. Hope To Get Out (Flux of the run)
10. Neveah (Darkness)
11. Let's Run (PGC)
12. Goodbye, My Son (Freedom/William EP)
[Part 2]
13. Manufactured Radio (PGC)
14. Chance run Ins (Freedom/William EP)
15. Darkness I (Darkness)
16. Writing My Own Eulogy (Darkness)
17. 2001 (Darkness)
18. I Know You (I've Known You)
19. Disarm (Disarm)

Anthony walks over to the guys from Acts of Hate and Reported Failure.

Anthony: What's up broskies?

Off in the distance, Derrick yells at John.

Derrick: Damn it John! Why'd you have to eat everything! Now we gotta go pay for food!
Anthony: Don't mind him and sorry about John earlier. He has quite an appetite. He isn't allowed within 300 yard of a Red Lobster, Golden Corral, or Kinko's...Kinko's is a long story.

The guys leave Reported Failure to get ready. They turn to the guys in Erin's Silence.

Sam: Hey Anthony. I trust you guys are all....well rested.
Jeff: And your drummer is well fed, too. Like, seriously, have you had him tested?

Anthony: We are rested. We had a really peaceful sleep and as for John...well...we know he doesn't have rabies but we dont know about anything else.
Kevin: We think he was dropped too many times as a baby.
Derrick: That or he's just a spawn of some alien creature that eats everything...except for salad dressing. He's terrified of the stuff.
Jeremy: Yet another intricacy of the mystery that is our drummer.
