She was born on 16th September 1992 to a Bajan mother; Amanda Tozer and a Polish father Niko Gzymka. Currently living in California, Mercedes is doing what she loves most, recording music and rocking glamorous outfits. She is looking for a label at this present moment who will be able to support her and believe in her unique creative style. Mercedes' mother worked in a local bakery whilst her father worked in a newsagents. Growing up, money was scarce and with her father struggling with the English language barrier things didn't get easier. Unfortunately the bakery her mother worked in closed down due to slow business and she was made redundant. With Mercedes at the age of 4 and needing a lot of care that her parents just could not give to her, they decided it would be best to send her to a childrens home in London where she would receive all the care she would need. Her parents still visited her but after a while Mercedes grew away from them and made the decision to just stay in the home. During her time at the home, Mercedes took part in many drama productions. Taking on main roles in musicals such as Oliver Twist, Bugsey Malone and Hairspray, she became one of the most talked about and respected kids there. She also developed a close relationship with Billy Khan (now a member of Weekend). The pair shared the same wild and adventurous traits and soon became best of freinds, they even refer to each other as 'family'. At the age of 18, she left the home in search of her own place. Her mother and father had split since then and her mum was now living in California with a new partner. Mercedes was soon reunited with her mother and has remained in Cali ever since. With a mix of ethnic roots and going from living in a poor council flat in Hackney to a loving cosy care home in London to laying on the golden beaches of California, Miss P has experienced many different walks of life. She has put her eccentric and confident persona, her multi-cultural roots andd her love for art and fashion all together to create her music. Mercedes says that her music can't be put into a genre, instead she says her music is 'me'. Mercedes is currently working on her debut album and single. Her official YouTube channel has received over 1 million hits if you combine all the videos. It may not seem much compared to the likes of her idol Stephanie Fierce who receives 1 million hits in a day on just one video but for Mercedes it means the world to her that people like what she's doing. Mercerdes will be releasing TWO singles to mark her debut on the music scene! The 19 year old has been hard at work writing and recording her material for you all and she has finally revealed that her album is almost complete! It may seem unusual to release two singles for a debut however, Mercedes says that the two different singles will show the many different sides to her and all the genres she will explore. One of the singles; 'Hungover' is a very Urban/R&B track that is inspired by the likes of Tisha Jackson, the second of the singles; 'Shine On' is a fast paced uptempo dance track for the summer. More info coming soon!

It took a while but I was finally signed and not just by any label, the new and revived Hot Eye Records!! Working with Stephanie Fierce is an honour and I appreciate all the support she has been giving me not to mention how much faith she has in me, making me one of the first signings to the relaunched label. I'm also label buddies with Xena Bennington too who is a fresh new talent and there is many big things to come from her so keep an eye out. Also, there's another interesting signing but I'm keeping tight lipped about it for the time being :P Now to the music. I've been working my backside off to create the best music I possibly can and I must say it's coming along nicely! I'm a bit of a perfectionist so I'm trying to get everything just right before I release it to you. Got some very interesting collaborations on the album so far, some will surprise you! I've so far written like 40 songs, recorded 9 and still working hard. My debut singles Hungover/Shine On will premeire and get a release date very soon so keep a look out! Love all you Paynettes!
