(edit for understandabiltity) What do you guys think of screamo, the highly underrated and intense genre of music that has many underground fans all over the world?

Bands include:
Alesana
Bring me the Horizon
(early) Atreyu
Underoath
Silverstein
Escape the Fate
A Static Lullaby
The Devil Wears Prada

Debate away... Alesana is the best, btw.

Too much leather chair is unsightly and greatly increases your risk of leather-smell.

I think most of the good screaming bands (not going to use a screamo tag, because I'm not even going to recognize that a genre, and it doesn't fit much of what I prefer.) have done their best stuff in the past. Just hopefully those who want to talk crap stay away.

Give me this stuff over the new-school crap like Escape the Fate.

In my most humblest of opinions death metal and metalcore/hardcore should never mix, ever. I mean...Job for a Cowboy, All Shall Perish, Despised Icon, Xisforeyes, The Red Shore are steaming piles of excrement that need to be flushed away.

I'd consider Gay for Johnny Depp screamo and nothing like grindcore...still, awesome band name.

Deathcore is SHAMBOLIC. Really does sadden me. There's some good riffs in there but it's lost in a sea of stupid ill-fitting breakdowns and piggy squeals.

I like Kongcore. It's like deathcore, but the vocalists are non-human Great Apes - Gorillas primarily, see Weight of Agony and Burning Amanda, though Eighteen Minutes of the Morose have a Chimp, and Red Red Rubric of Mnemosne have a Gibbon which is obviously isn't even a Great Ape.

I only really like one deathcore band.Suicide Silence.I found them on tv.They have lots of breakdowns but they aren't really anything like metalcore or hardcore except for that.Maybe the screaming, but bow cant their singer growl.

Also kind of getting into Cripplecore, like In the Shadow of the Learned, Blood Construction, Between Beneath the Ceremony and the Hanged, even a little bit of The Burgundy Conference, though their self-titled debut is a bit generic.

Me too, because I listen to bands who wear kilts and dress up as vikings, not to mention I'm really into Gwar since a few months.

I like some deathcore, like Suicide Silence, Trigger The Bloodshed, Job For A Cowbo and even (yeah I know it's bad) Bring Me The Horizon. They might be hated, they have one hell of a show.
As for screamo, never really got into it, I'm not really a fan of emo music. I love deathcore for the brutality of it.

I think they are related...I've developed a theory that because of those ill fitting jeans, the vocalists tend to scream like stuck pigs and the haircuts make them unleash those silly breakdowns. Just a theory in its early stages however..

Coincidentially my friend's dragging me to see her boyfriend's deathcore band play at some rock night in birmingham. 5 til 10, looks to be a fun night in store for someone like me who really won't fit in with all the BR00TALBREEBREERAWRRR individuals which seem to frequent these evenings.

I only hope one of the other 5 bands on the bill isn't a deathcore band.

completely agree. deathcore for me is only screaming and screaming and screaming over shit and screams. i can't understand how anybody can stand it or even get into it, but oh well.
i liked screamo back in the day, mostly alesana, underoath and maybe some other band. though it never was one of my favourite genres.

Annother good band I forgot about:

Deathcore, in it's entirety, is generally decent. I like All Shall Perish.
