MERCEDES - SHINE ON   The video starts with a close up of Mercedes' shoes. She slowly walks down an alleyway in a poor area. On the ground lays loose bricks. Further on a burned baby doll lays on the ground. The camera then cuts to Mercedes chilling against a wall, wearing a pink jacket. The words 'If you could not fail...' appear on the screen. We then see a close up of Mercedes' face. The wind is blowing through her hair and the words '...what would you do?'. The sound of the wind is heard. People are whispering to each other whilst leaning against a wall, they glare at Mercedes', she's obviously a stranger to everyone in this area.  The music begins to play. We see her against a wall as she sings the first verse. The camera changes angles constantly. Shots of the onlookers staring at the camera are also shown. Mercedes slides up and down the wall whilst singing. When singing the word 'kick', she kicks her right foot out and a shot of someone sitting on a kerb, looking upset is shown.Take my hand, here it is babe

So get your armour, it's time to fight During the pre-chorus, Mercedes sits at a bench and sings. Scenes of the locals on the wall intersect.Woah-oh, woah-oh you're golden

Woah-oh, woah-oh it's time to show them! Towards the end of the pre-chorus, one of the locals places a boombox down. They give their usual aggressive look to the camera before breaking into dance as the chorus starts. In actual fact, they are all street dancers. Mercedes suddenly jumps up from the bench and dances freely during the chorus. She spins around in circles not caring about how she looks Clear the clouded night sky, it's time to move on

(We shine, we shine, we shine on)The second verse begins and the pace picks up. The dancers have a mini competition between themselves. Mercedes joins the crowd and cheers them on. Clips of Mercedes dancing around freely are shown again throughout the verse. In the pre-chorus a very large girl reluctantly walks over to the dance off. Everyone is cheering her on. She walks closer and closer as the pre-chorus moves on. As soon as the chorus starts the girl starts to break dance and wows the crowd. During the chorus we see her continue to dance. Scenes of people on skateboards are shown throughout as well as residents of the neighbourhood of all ages opening their windows and stepping out of their front doors, smiling and observing the dancing. You're like the wildest rollercoaster

(We shine, we shine, we shine on) During the breakdown, she sits on a wall and sings into a speakerphone. The whole neighbourhood seem to hear her and slowly walk closer to Mercedes.You're the bravest little soldier (time to shine)

We shine, we shine, we shine onDuring the chorus, Mercedes walks down the alleyway again, singing whilst the dancers and the people of the neighbourhood dance and walk behind her. People are holding up posters with different inspirational quotes on them such as; 'Shine On', 'You're A Star', 'Love Me For Who I Am' and 'Stand Tall'. As the song fades and she repeats 'We shine on', scenes of the dancers competing are shown in slow motion. During the last two lines, Mercedes stops walking and everyone behind her also freezes. They stare at the camera. The camera zooms out and then lifts up from the ground, they all continue to stare up at the camera. The music fades and the camera aims upwards at the bright blue sky.
