You may have caught them on archaic couture.'s No Time Left For Sleeping tour, and if you haven't there's still time. Who are they? They are Asian-American all-girl pop rock foursome The Weeknight Letdown! "When I first heard them, I knew they were well on their way to become the next big thing." says archaic couture.'s Mila Ahtisaari, who helped get the band signed on to their label, Las Vegas-based ADS Recordings. The band takes elements of early punk rock, surf rock, and radio-friendly pop and blends it with catchy pop-punk hooks reminiscent of My Freaky Valentine and archaic couture.

After finishing up on this summer's tour, the California-based quartet will head into the studio with veteran producer Almen Scott (archaic couture.'s Make Something Count) to record their first studio album, tentatively titled The Underachievers. Five songs from an independently released EP can be downloaded here on the official site.

The Weeknight Letdown is:
(From left to right in top picture!)

Sabrina Hou - Guitar, Backing Vocals
December 31st, 1989
Singapore, Singapore

Maria "Max" Kikuchi - Guitar, Lead Vocals
October 3rd, 1987
Hacienda Heights, Californa

Mai Norishige, Bass, Backing Vocals
April 30th, 1990
Hacienda Heights, California

Patricia "Patty" Ide - Drums, Backing Vocals, Piano
December 5th, 1989
El Segundo, California

That's the worst part of the scene, it doesn't matter that you don't change your ideals, all their care about is wether you signed with a major or changed your sound a bit.
Nevertheless, I love all-girl rock bands, and like Jimmy said it'll be even better if they're more punk than pop!

We're not a punk band, not sure where it said we were. We're a clear pop-punk/pop rock band with certain elements of early punk rock evident in our songs. We're aiming for a refreshing approach in a genre where only few bands can be original enough to stand out. We play our instruments to the best of our abilities, we have fun, and we are determined. No reason to be critical just yet.

Stephanie Fierce: First of all since when metal artist have more fans than a pop artist. Did what you say even make sense? And if you do have more fans, who cares, It's impossible for me to be better than you and for you to be better than me because our music and style is completely different. I enjoy my job and that is to give my fans what they want not what haters or other artist want. And just because you were here longer doesn't mean your better.

Edit: OCC: No mean to brag, but I have brought more creativity into this game than you have brought.

And Is called Pop-punk because it has those catchy tunes (which are Pop). Which is the only reason they make it into the charts and radio. Otherwise, if it was just punk it wouldn't sell as much. It's just how the world and generation is these days. Not saying Pop is better, it just sells more and dominates everything. Whether you love it or hate it your going to see it or hear it (which is the main reason people hate it).

OCC:
Look at the charts and tell me what kind of genre is #1. Once again not saying it because it is better, it just sells more.
