Scott empties his bottle again and sticks it on top of the bar.

"Yeah, that's cool man. I mean, I can't pretend to know how hard it must be on you man. I'm lucky enough that both my girls live under the one roof, but it must be hard man, and I really do feel for you." He sighs. "That's great...why don't you call her? Prove to them both that you want to make an effort? Maybe they think you don't care if you haven't been there? I mean, what harm can it do to ask if you can see him?"

Scott sighs.

"Exactly. And what is a marriage if one person is deliberately holding back a big part of a relationship?"

Scott shakes his head.

"What's the point of being scared of her saying no? So you'll never ask in case she doesn't let you? If you don't ask, you'll never see him anyway, right? So you might as well just ask, man. Just call her up and say you want to see him. She's a decent girl. Plus, as much as I've never seen eye to eye with Hayden, he's not the type of bloke to not let you see your kid."

He shrugs

"Ah well. Maybe she will. Maybe when she comes around I won't be interested."

Scott nods. "So it's better not to know if you ever get to see your kid, rather than just getting an answer once and for all and knowing? Surely that must be gnawing away at you man? The only person you can get an answer from is her, and she's only a phone call away. Just, you know what dude, the longer you leave it, the older the kid gets, and the harder it is for you to be his dad. You want that?"

He orders two more drinks.

"Do what? Hold off sex? Sure, two can play at that game as the old adage goes."

Scott smiles. "Good man. You have to know. According to Gia, she's in LA at the moment, so you know, it won't be hard for you to go visit her. Let her know how you feel about Lucas and ask if you can see him. You have to try dude, it's all you can do."

He nods.

"Yeah. She'salready testing it with her rules though ya know?"

Scott laughs. "No problem man, it's what friends are for. Besides, I'm hardly good for much else these days anyway."

He chuckles and takes a sip from his beer.

Scott shrugs.

"Dude, I'm 28 and I feel washed up in terms of my career. I got nothing in terms of song-writing prowess...and yeah...I just feel pretty useless."

Scott laughs.

"I'm talkin' now man. All I can do is throw money at shit and wait or profit. I'm cool with it though, dude. I worked hard and I had a decent career."

Serenity jumped a little bit when she heard his voice. She tried to play it off by turning to him with a smile on her face.

Serenity: I'm intrigued (she smiled). I've got my dress and everything ready too, prince charming.

She winked at him.

Serenity: I guess it is. So, since when did you learn how to drive?

She smiled.
