After the last single released from Lily's first ever E.P., Lily went on one of the largest tours in 2012. She then took a break from the music scene to work on her 3rd album, which is set to be released later this year. The Gothic singer has made a comeback now with a new single from the signature sound from her we all know and love. Using her beautiful, irreplaceable voice over the heavy hitting, metal song really brings out the natural, clean vocals from the singer. The metal/symphonic metal inspired track marks Lily's stunning 15th single ever released. The singer makes a long awaited return to music after depriving fans and associated acts alike of her witty attitude and stunning voice. The single was debuted at the 3rd annual FCA awards where Lily made her comeback in performing live as well. The shocking performance was definitely one of the most talked about, with Lily giving everything she had on stage, her stage presence better than ever. Not much is known about the upcoming album or even the theme behind this song but it's why we love Lily; her mysterious demeanor leaves a lot to the imagination.
The track starts off with an array of distorted voices that sound muffled at first, speaking very fast paced until a few seconds after it, the voices start to slow down, revealing Lily's low and haunting voice. The familiar rhyming of the beginning part is made to sound like the tune of 'Ring Around The Rosie', but it a disturbing way. She repeats the words, 'I'm not crazy, Just a little, Maybe, Tie Me up, Hold me down, Another way I'll go round' holding the ending note of 'around.' A thumping sound is then heard, similar to a heart beating slow then fast with some labored breathing which is then interrupted by the sound of a scream which introduces the full band to start playing. The distinct sound of Ben's guitar, fitting in perfectly with the fast paced drums. Lily goes into the first verse without even trying to give the listeners time to adjust. Her vocals are very raw and aggressive even though she hasn't even nearly reached the heights in the song we know she's capable of. Adding in the special effects of her voice when she sings the part, 'How could you make me feel this way?', Lily's voice goes up another note as if she were screaming at someone in the recording booth with her. The last line of the first verse, Lily slows it down, the labored breathing being heard again and then she carries on to the chorus as the song gets more intense. In the background, you can hear screams. They aren't necessarily screams one would hear if they were scared, but ones if someone were getting tortured or attacked. This plays in with the song very well giving it a sort of dark feeling to the song. When she sings, 'I'm not crazy' her voice again gets high but comes back down in a calm sort of way as she sings the part, 'I'm just damaged' which sounds very creepy due to the distortion effect. Going into the next verse, Lily's almost even more aggressive, singing with more of a purpose as Cash is playing along to satisfy the sound of the song.
The third line of the second verse, gives us a dash of Lily's beautiful opera like vocals as she holds the note on 'way?' She then goes back to her aggressive voice, rounding out the second verse the same as the first verse. She goes on to sing the chorus which the music goes back into it's intense sound. The feel of the track is definitely one of more than just Rock, but more of a Metal feel which is also transpiring into a Symphony feel as we get into the bridge. Lily goes on to repeat 'I'm not crazy, I'm just damaged' in which the band is not heard but instead violins that seem to play in a distraught way. Lily's vocals get higher with each line, going into the vocalization part where she shines. Her siren like, fiery, alto-soprano voice literally mesmerizes the listeners as she then goes back into her alto voice for the chorus. Her voice is powerful yet flexible and her piercing wails are always spot on. The singing of the chorus remains virtually the same except with her ad libs now being added, again, shining on the record. At the end of the song, you can hear the screams followed by the heartbeat and then her slowly singing the beginning again.
Lily wrote:"I chose this as my comeback single because it's a powerful one. It's to show people that I haven't left and I'm gonna be here for a long time. I wrote this a little over 2 months ago while I was on tour. It was something I thought I owed myself to get some sort of frustration out. The theme of the song is about being really, really messed up that it's to the point where you're stained or damaged. It's about being filled with so much hatred for someone that it just essentially makes you go mad. There wasn't really a person in my mind when I wrote this song, it was kind of something I needed to write about because I know I'm filled with so much of that hate. I'd like to think as I recorded the song, some of it leaked out into the song which makes it sound so aggressive and non friendly. The song was all a matter of timing and I put a lot of thought into it. I didn't have the violins in at first because I thought it would make it sound a little soft which is what I didn't want at all but then listening to it, to me it gave it a more creepy, crazy feeling which is what I wanted it to have. All in all I say that I made the right choice picking this song as my comeback single because it's what I think everyone would have expected from me and even if it wasn't that's all more the reason for me to be happy."

[Verse 1] It burns through my veins like my own blood Turning the light into dark for my own good (How could you make me feel this way?) The air that I breathe is so toxic Feels like my mind is gone, I've lost it (Do you see what I see?) Broken beyond all repair, the struggle is so real
[Chorus] Look at what you've made me, Look at what you've done Don't believe the f****** hype, Annie get your gun Look at what you've made me, Look at what you've done I have got the antidote, to your senseless love I'm not perfect, but I've had it, all this s*** has left me damaged
I'm not crazy, I'm just damaged I'm not crazy, I'm just damaged
[Verse 2] Slowly I am dying by your own hands Taking away my freedom to call yourself a man (How could you make me feel this way?) Piercing straight into my life I don't wanna live, no, I'd just rather die (Can you feel what I feel?) Trying to fix the mess that you've caused, but nothing left to believe in

FAN CHOICE AWARDS PERFORMANCE: MYSTERY PERFORMERAll goes silent as the next performer is announced to the stage. It had been a mystery all night as to who the mystery performer would be. Standing in the dark with nothing but a spotlight shining on the figure, the crowd is cheering in anticipation of who is standing on the stage. It had been 4 months to this day since this artist had even released a single and it had been well over 2 months since this artist had performed on a stage since their last tour, but now they were standing in front of a live audience, ready to give the performance of a life time. There was a loud, static noise heard throughout the building and a video with a distorted image on it. The image then fades into what seems like a pair of eyes staring out into the crowd and then the word 'DAMAGED' appears on the screen.
At almost the same time, a familiar voice is heard through the microphone with the crowd going wild as they finally come to realization of who it is. A soft and low voice, echoes throughout the arena as the lights slowly change color and the darkness is wiped away. The now female body is standing in the middle of the stage, staring out into the crowd as she sings in a haunting way. To the audience's surprise and excitement, it is Lily who is gracing the crowd with her long awaited return back to the music scene. After she briefly pauses for a minute, taking in the site and admiring the crowd, Cash begins to play along with the rest of the band her new tune.

Lily proceeds to have a small smile on her face which is then replaced by a look of seriousness and concentration as she sings. The siren like voice is one that has been in the ears and hearts of the fans for a while now and is almost like as if she never took a break at all. The energy in the room has lifted to one that is excited and pumped up. Appearing in an outfit that consisted of a black top that was fitting her around the waist with a belt tied around to keep it that way, a puffy short ballerina skirt with several different layers of material surrounding it to give it a glittery yet dark look, golden leggings that worked it's way into her black boots which were looking sort of worn out. Lily didn't manage to try to look fancy for her comeback but she looked as if she were ready to give a performance that would give more wear and tear to those old boots. Her hair, in it's ordinary fashion, was straight down hanging off her shoulders. She had let it grow some more from the last time she was seen. She looked amazing, and as if she had lost some weight as the outfit really complimented her slender, but not too thin, figure. Her make up was even less outrageous than usual, only wearing some blue eyeshadow and black eyeliner around her eyes. That was the only make up Lily really ever wanted to wear. Tonight, for her, was not about how she looked but about how much stronger and better she had become. It marked her 'comeback' as she had not been much vocal in 4 months.

As she performed, Lily couldn't help but to look out at her fans and their undeniable support for her. They had received her well after her short lived hiatus. With the sound of the of the cymbals and drums crashing, Lily had moved on to the chorus part of the song that was apparently going to be her new single. The Metal influenced track was definitely something that made for a great comeback single. Before the ending of the first verse, she had the audience headbanging with her as she sung the chorus of the song. The fans were definitely in love with the performance and were having a good time. This took nothing away from the fact that Lily was giving her all up on that stage as she was hitting high notes, low notes, and the band was playing at their best. The lights were brightly lit upon Lily as they went from Red, to White, to a medium lit purple and violet. They were complimenting Lily very well, seemingly moving along to the sounds of the music.

Going into the bridge part of the song, Lily's music is stopped as violins are heard being played. She is singing in a low voice which transitions into a high soprano voice, giving off the opera sound that can not be compared to any other. She holds the note, extending both her arms and holding onto the microphone and singing with all the talent that she had. Soon, the band started to play again, as she then started to shake her head again, jumping up and down, telling the crowd to sing along with her, as they did. She held her hand in the air, as the audience copied her and soon she was pointing out to the crowd as if she were singing about someone in that audience right then and there. Eli was noticeably handling the drums with ease, as each drumstick was pounding on the drum.
I'm not crazy, I'm just damaged I'm not crazy, I'm just damaged I'm not crazy, I'm not crazy I'm not crazy, I'm just damaged
Oh, Ohh-h Oh, Ohhh-h Oh, Ohh-h
As Lily now moves into the closing of her performance, the music seems to get more intense, reaching the climax of the song. She gives the last singing of the chorus her all, really working up a sweat. There were little specks of glitter on her arm now from the skirt she was wearing. Her stamina had not at all been affected because she was used to performing intensely without rest. She loved it in fact, and thrived on it. She loved the roars from the crowd and the blinding lights. She loved the rush she felt with the goosebumps forming along her arm as she heard the band behind her, as loud as they could be. Cash was also enjoying this because it was always a great time for him to watch Lily in action. Ben had been given a solo in the performance which made him happy as always, a real chance to show exactly why these guys were in Lily's corner. While the feeling was good, it couldn't last forever. Hinting at the end of the song, Lily sung the chorus one last time with the crowd along with her. At the end, as the music stopped, she simply stood there, repeating the same words as she stated at the beginning of the song and then she lifted her head to the sky, while the band ended swiftly and she took in the applause. Truth be told, no one expected Lily to be here tonight but she was and it felt great. She chose this night to debut her new single in hopes to regain her reputation as one of the best performers of her time. Lily simply thanked the crowd as she made her way to the back.
