As do I.

That's not autotue, that's her unique voice, they might of used a different proprietary audio processor. but not autotune.

Well vocoder for one, that's obvious enough, buut any other opinions would be welcome. the vocoder confuses me in identifying it...

either way it's a nice song.

EDIT: Listening again, 1:07 seems to hint at autotune, it's too sharply done... unless again the effects they've layered onto it are what's making it sound as such.

To be fair though, all the bands you listen to use Auto-tune too.

Well not all, but most. It's ubiquitous.

Directed at myself, or Steph?

Either way, I will unashamedly admit a lot of my media library has utilised the autotune function in production.

You, her, everyone. Less so me of course, but only because I listen to a bunch of stuff without tuned vocals, or with analogue productions.

are you addicted to the word fresh? its not the 80's anymore.

Anyway, i personally can not stand Shakira. She is not new, she does not have an amazing voice and her music is bland bland bland... But i suppose the same can be said of most pop music nowadays anyway. Britney has always been shit, Madonna is just scary (if i want to see and listen to a 50 year old woman dance naked in front of me i'd just go to the local strip club). Not to mention the 100's of look a like girl and boy bands.
Bring back popular folk music i say damnit!!!

thats a very dire thing to say to someone you have no idea about, especially seeing as i have never met or talked to you before.. All i was saying is that Shakira, and more generally pop music at the moment is very bland and repetitive... Any good pop music gets shunted to the side and ignored or stolen by the major players in the industry for example Madona and Britney spears, who only copy what other people invent.

Everyone pretty much does. Its just how pop works. At first mostly everyone likes the artists and then later on only fans and few like her. Look at Britney Beyonce, Madonna, Miley Cyrus, Michael Jackson ect.

Me personally, I think she has brought something new to Pop. And when I say it has a 70's vibe, It doesn't mean that it sounds like a song from the 70's. Vocals aren't the main thing to music, music can be music without vocals. I think this is a song where good vocals aren't needed. This is a arrrggggggg song, so I felt like Shakira fits best to this. I couldn't picture Britney, Madonna, Beyonce, Michael Jackson, Miley cyrus singing this. Anyway, Pop critics love this, but not as much as I do.
