Josh gives her a little smile.

"Well thank you very much. Compliments are always nice. How do you mean? What are you sorry for? And hey, don't worry, I get how it can hurt to be played. I'm a straight up honest guy. In fact, I've been played as well. It's not nice to do that."

He nods and turns to the barman.

"One beer and a whiskey please good sir."

Josh looks a little confused and then smiles a little at her.

"Oh ok...no worries. Nah, really, I know what it feels like.My ex told me we had to split because she needed to focus on her career and then went dating straight away. That hurts. I wouldn't play anyone. I always just give people honesty. It's the least people deserve."

He smiles at her again.

"Well..." he takes a sip of his beer. "It is night time now...people normally eat breakfast in the morning." He chuckles and winks at her.

Josh nods and tilts his head to the side as he looks at her.

"Of course. Everyone has to earn the trust of someone else. Hopefully you give me the chance to earn your respect though."

He smiles and takes a drink from his bottle.

"I know I did. You know, I was just suggesting," he chuckles.

Josh smiles at her as he takes another drink.

"Oh really? That's fair enough. Pretty girl has to get her beauty sleep huh?" He smiles.

"Hey ummm...do you reckon I could get your number? Maybe take you out sometime? If not its OK." He nods.

Josh smiles at her.

"Well have a good night Serenity. I'm gonna get another beer. Sleep well."

He smiled and took her number.

"Thanks. I'll call you soon. It was lovely to meet you." He gave her a quick hug.

Josh Meyer walks up to the backstage area of the Carnival of Sounds tour, where all of the buses are parked. He shows a backstage pass that he had picked up the night before and walks past the nodding security guard. Walking past the row of buses, Josh looks for the one he is supposed to be visiting, reading the name taped to the back of each one. Wearing a leather jacket, a pair of dark jeans and a pair of sunglasses, he looks very much part of the tour, despite his never having being on the bill for anything like this.
After a while, Josh sees the bus with the name "Pretty Little Freaks" taped to the back of it. He nods and sighs before walking to the door of the bus. "Well..here we go," he sighs to himself, before knocking gently on the door.

As Josh stood at the door of the bus waiting for an answer, he thought about why he was here. It had been just yesterday that he had heard Jade for only the second time she had broken up with him, and she seemed to be quite remorseful about the whole break up that they had gone through. It seemed to him like she wanted to explain and apologise. In reality, she didn't need to, he was fine, but Josh was a nice guy, and if she wanted to say sorry so that she could say sorry and feel better about moving on. He shrugged a little and sighed again. It would be better to just get it over with and then he could back to New York again and try to get over her. It wasn't easy for him. He had never let himself close to anyone before her. When the door opened, he smiled a little at her, trying to be polite. "Hey," he said.

Josh walks into the bus and past Jade. He stands in the living room area of the bus, feeling awkward, but not wanting to sit without being asked. He could tell she was nervous, and so was he. It had been a while since he had seen her, and they had never exactly been two of the most confident people. Feeling quite self conscious, Josh thrust his hands into the pockets of his jeans, looking down at the carpet as she spoke. He nodded slowly. "Look, like I said to you on Twitter. You don't need to say sorry to me. People break up all the time for whatever reason, so it's ok. I was just like confused and stuff, but that isn't your fault. Honestly, it's ok."

As Jade spoke, Josh kept his eyes fixated on the carpet, just nodding ever so slightly at random intervals. It was true, their break up had hurt him, because he had thought that Jade was special, but he was too much of a gentleman to admit that it had hurt. When she mentioned the Twitter thing, he winced a little. "Yeah," he said as he scratched his neck. "I'm sorry about the twitter thing Jade. I just..I was still missing you at that time, and you had told me you had to focus on your career, and then everyone's talking about you dating some guy..." it just...well you know the way I acted really isn't me." He sighed a little. "So I'm sorry for that. I was just jealous. I'm happy for you though, I hope it goes well." He had to fight to say that. It was hard for him to be nice when he imagined her with someone else.
When she mentioned how she shouldn't have broken up with him, he closed his eyes for a second. "I mean...you must have had a reason, right?" he asked, still standing awkwardly and looking down at the floor.

Josh feels confused. All he had known was that Twitter had made out that Jade was dating a guy who she was on tour with. He scratched his head and then shrugged. "Ok. Well I'm ever more sorry now, because clearly I over-reacted to the whole scenario. It's just not me, and hey, I guess I just needed some time and stuff." He coughs lightly. He then takes his phone out of his pocket and looks at it before putting it back in his pocket. He nods when she speaks, managing to look up at her at last. "Hey, it's a reason. I mean, I wish we could have spoken it through at the time, and we might have come to a solution. But what's done is done, so don't be sorry. Just be happy."
