Fischer mugs for the camera with interviewer Dave Scott Last time we met Acts of Hate's Sam Fischer we had a conversation about the music industry on a couch in his parents basement. Fast forward a couple months and he's touring across the world with his band as the opening act on the Carnival of Sounds tour, supporting bands like Erin's Silence, Reported Failure and Erich and the Draft-Dodgers. He's semi-drunk and considerably more jaded. Italics = him Bold = us So, how is this tour treating you? I know, it's a cliche question. This thing has been fucking awesome! I don't even know if you can print that but, fuck it, nobody reads your magazine anyways. Actually, my editor might not let me print the last thing you said. But fuck it, you're right. You know it man. But yeah, the fans have been...for the most part awesome.Any intsances of them being not awesome?Well there's the thing in texas. What happened in texas? -sips drink- well, we only got to play like half our set. It would appear that the so called "warriors of christ" took it upon themselves to start throwing shit at us halfway through the concert and there was so much religious memorabilia raining down on us that we were just like, fuck it. Fuck texas. Really? Anybody get hurt?Neil got a vial of holy water to the dome. It burned his eyes, so either holy water is caustic or neil is the antichrist. That sucks man, really. Have you been starstruck on this tour? Reported Failure is pretty big.I never really got starstruck with reported failure because they're not really my type of music. They're a good band and it's great to get to know them but it wasn't like, oh my god, you know? But it was really cool to meet Erich Hess. He's like...a really drunken/drugged up father figure to the band. Wanna hear a really fucked up idea?Shoot I was thinking of asking him to produce our album after this tour is over with. Wouldn't that be just fuckin' metal? like, Psychobilly gonzo-country star producing a brutal death metal album? I think it'd be fuckin awesome. That would be pretty crazy. Looks like some fans are heading over. Yeah, they probably want autographs or some shit. I better take care of this, thanks man.
And Mr. Fischer returned to the world of Death-Metal Quasi-Stardom. |

erich: texas was great to me.i dont know why they hated you. i guess an acoustic guitar gives you a feee pass to say what you want..little ones,i'd love to produce for you...providing you pony up my production fee... one six pack of beer. a true southerner will rebuild an engine, paint your house, deliver a baby, etc etc. providing you give him a six pack.
karoliena: your studio or ours? we have a cutting edge recording studio aboard the duke of winchester....*quietly adds* if it was still 1957.
erich: i know fuck all about metal. but i do know biotech is godzilla. *starts shouting* BIO TECH. BIO TECH. BIO TECH. SAY WHAT? BIOTECH IS GODZILLA!!

Sam: I'm sure we could part with a six pack. And we were planning on recording out album in Vancouver BC at Armoury Studios. Tony: This record is going to be brutal. Real brutal. Jeff: Erich is the most brutal non-metal artist i've ever met. Maybe we could have a song thats just us jamming with him rambling over it in all his drunken wisdom. Sam: Isn't that what the last metallica album was? Jeff: Yeah......horrible, horrible album. |

Sam: It's settled then! After this tour is over we'll set out to make the metalest record since Lou Reed's Metal Machine Music! Jeff: But that album was just like an hour of distorted feedback. Sam: Yeah. It was metal. |
