Barbarian Announces Lead Single off "ID"; "Fierce"

"Fierce" is the debut single by R&B singer-songwriter Barbarian off her anticipated first studio album titled "ID" (short for "Identification"). Barbarian co-wrote and co-produced the song with Jasper Cameron early August in California, US. The song is set to premiere on Kiss FM Radio on November 2nd, 2012 and will then be released to digital and radio markets on November 4th.

"Lets get fierce, it's about time for my arrival" belts the R&B belle as the strutting R&B pop beat strikes in the background of her new song.

In terms of composition, "Fierce" incorporates the genres of R&B, hip hop and electronic dance in the song, setting off her feisty and powering vocals to a whole new level. The song's theme serves as an introduction of Barbarian to the music industry. Contents of grime lyrics and vocal belting are showcased throughout the song.

A music video was filmed starting on October 21st and ending on October 22nd. Barbarian will also be appearing on 106 & Park on November 12, 2012, to premiere the music video and perform the song.


"The strong describes the feeling of self confidence. It's sort of like my arrival song, Like I'm here and get ready for a ride. My excitement just kind of being the newcomer, I feel like this is my time to shine and you will feel that excitement when you hear the song.

The video will definitely get people to sweat and dance. I've never in my life worked so hard on anything, and the rush of this video is incredibly overwhelming. We went non stop for hours shooting. It is dance all the way. I mean, I got towels being thrown left and right because of all the sweating, make up artist running up to me every second, wind machines, fierce outfits, I'm going all the way in. My director and I have this little joke, and we're like...we wanna snatch us some wigs" (laughs)" - Barbarian
