  Song Description
“21st Century Hoez” is a very in your face Hip-Hop track. Even though the foundation of the record is Hip-Hop it is filled with Pop elements. Many Hip-Hop fans and commentators have noticed the rising change and evolution of Hip-Hop becoming Pop. Allura plays along the lines with the evolution of Hip-Hop with 21st Century Hoez. The song starts off with a synthesizing bass line. It becomes infectious until the drum line kicks in and Allura raps “In metaphor heaven. Be having mad niggas jammin’”
With all that going on in the intro Allura begin to talk about her opinions on Pop Culture and society in the 21st century. She focusses on things that girls of today’s generation find interesting and makes fun of them. It sort of like her take at being the female “Eminem”. Allura is known for her singing as well, put she predominantly focuses on her spitting her bars on 21st Century Hoez. By the end of her first verse she leaves you guessing and anticipating on what she’ll say next.
That’s when new Pop starlet, Mercedes Payne jumps into the pre-chorus. Her vocals are very laid back and chilled, it meshes well with the beat. While Payne delivers her vocals smoothly, the beat increases with the bass line and drums kicking at the same time. That’s when Payne jumps into the chorus of the song, and Allura begins to sing along with her. Their vocals very smooth, and silky, just like the Allura’s last name. In the chorus they continue to talk about things popular and relevant in today’s society. At first it comes across as bashing pop culture, BUT IT IS THE TOTAL OPPISITE. When you realize that Allura and Mercedes message is for girls to stop trying to “Be about a certain life” and make your money [the right way] and create your own life. A life that you can lead by example.
Even though it is a positive song for women, Allura and Mercedes come across as very confident and assured in themselves. It becomes almost difficult to not like the song, because it just makes you feel like “A bad bitch”. Allura boast with profanity in the second verse, and talks about her vagina a lot as well. She jokingly talks about the cast of VH1’s popular reality television show, Love & Hip-Hop: Atlanta, when she says, “Did you ebba really lubb me Stebbie”. A line made popular by star of the show, Joeseline Hernandez. Mercedes continue a smooth delivery as she sings new lyrics for a new pre-chorus, and Allura joins her in on the chorus again.
The third and final verse is the most “Dramatic”, “Loud”, “Ranting”, “Entertaining” verse of the entire song. Allura can come across as very territorial. But Mercedes calms the rise in action of the track out with reciting previous pre-choruses and her and Allura close out the chorus, leaving you entertained, and excited about the 21st Century Rap Game. A new game, past rappers need to jump on the band wagon with.

So take that opportunity, get your education, and be about your paper. The song is just telling you, instead of being a basic 21st Century Hoe, be a Bad Bitch. And a bad bitch, has an education, and has an outlet for her to make her paper in a legal way, and lives by an example.
