Intro : Vocalist Chanel Devine was often known for her deep and meaningful lyrics that compares to her smooth and ballad styled music that always had live instrumentals that she loved to use to blended so well with her powerful signature vocal style. Chanel mark her spot on the industry's map with her voice and lyrics that she wrote herself going though relationships in her recent years. Background Concepts : Chanel is the girl who only dreams about the past and only thinks about the worst. She takes her personal thoughts of falling out of love with a man but still holds him because you love to hear his heart beat, you love actually talking to him as a friend. You love the closure you get from hurting you deep inside when you close/near him when soon you will leave him. The strong but simple meaning came from a personal place from Chanel's mother when Chanel's mother mom got a divorce from Chanel's dad. She didn't want to hurt him as much as she slowly fall out of love with him. She only remember the love she felt for him when she first met him and the love she started to lost slowly. She didn't want to hurt him anymore with the regret because she saw that he was still in love with her and hurting him was meaning telling him she will never in love with him for the beginning, he was a replace from a heartbreak. Chanel experienced the hurt when her mom use to tell her stories about her life love, she was a wonder of love, she wanted love, she enjoyed how it felt. She took love like a adventure, more than relationships. She use to tell Chanel stories on how she met men or how she discovered herself as a woman thought many and destroyed relationships. Chanel took her knowledge and remembered all the stories and took all the times she will describe from beginning to end how the love fall apart. She told Chanel about the time her mother will be in his arms but she still felt lost inside of the love she never wanted to have or be.
The strong lyrical composition of the song shows the relationships between Chanel mother on making her the cold lover of all men, she explains such an truthful, but hurtful story in this record.
Composition The song begins with a loud and soft flute that dramatically gets into a higher pitch as the song processes on, it begins to do a couple of runs with the flute with Chanel already doing soft runs in the beginning, giving us the vibe session of the track. After seconds of the introduction of the flute, the flute begins to sound in a funk blues sound with soft bass and smooth harmony. The smoothness of the flute sits deeply into the record as it gets lower then silent. The song goes on to hearing a man singing in a very low bass tone voice as he sings, " Daaaaa doooooo. Daaaaa doooo.." as the flute begin to play in a blues sound again while the bass voice is singing, providing a blue environment as the flute gets slower again. The flute is slowly layered with a soft piano with soft keys, upper register notes in the keyboard also. The structure of the flute and piano is smooth and easy on the listeners ears as the flute and piano is slow and mind catching when the piano starts to play very slowly, taking the upper register keys into the lower register, subletting the flute into a deep tone echoy sound that reflects heavily on Chanel's Blues music sound. The song processes with the flute and piano leading on the soft and slow melody that the song overtakes a lot with the smooth harmony that the background vocals do mostly in the record. The first verse begins with the flute only hearing in the back structure of the songs back track with a strict elegant sound in his lower tone, slowly making it impact on the instrumentals harmony that kicks right back in before the chorus interprets the flute with Chanel s powerful vocal belting. During the chrous, the flute and piano is going peacely together as the melody of the song is slow, Chanel sings the line of the verses one at a time, her pitch of her voice that is in a upper register eases beautifully during the transformation of the slow piano, changing in his minor keys to a higher and major key change in his melody to a slow pace to a more deeper register vocal tone when the flutes begin to fade out and let the piano play in Chanel vocal range, blending in, in a stunning matter when the piano leaves the chours every time in a lower minor key touch, as the background vocalists relaxes the listeners ears again with some soft runs and also the flute beginning to play in a soft bassline that gives the sound an easy, emotional touch. The secodn verses apporches as Chanel's vocals is more emotional then singing, her lower register is flawless, mixing with a high falsetto and a deep chest notes, but often feeling the soft flute playing in the background. The flute that we can hardly hear because of the background vocals repeating the last words of each of Chanel's second verse lines in a scale of upper vocal notes as every time they sing in a scale of higher notes, the flutes goes along with the ranges that changes so effortly in Chanel's vocals and the background vocals. The bridges awaits it all when the bridge is nothing but Chanel singing in a sound of acapella but then the flute and piano show up so smoothly, more of a seek in when Chanel is belting out the bridge but in a mixed tone voice that has that beautiful echoy feel to her vocals when the flute then emerges into her voice, mastering the track so the flute can mix well with her vocals to the piano easing its way back to the frontline of the soft and beautiful melody that catches you deeply into the mist of the beautiful background vocal talent.
